ESO End Game Community… What is End Game?

End game for me is logging in, doing daily crafting writs and then deciding if I'm in the mood to do more or not. Logging in and doing the daily writs will get you a little gold, the daily reward, and some inspiration all of which can be used later.

If I'm doing more than that, it's usually Battlegrounds, Undaunted dungeon runs, surveys, farming, or event related activities. I'm not max CP so I'm still mindful of activities that give nice XP for little effort.

What is the ENDGAME? Well, to me, it's when I find myself in the midst of a trial only to be unexpectedly kicked out, leaving me unable to log back in due to the server continuously booting me out upon every attempt. Game over! This is the true ENDGAME.

    Currently I see 3 paths:

Path of martial skill mastery: PvE trials and arenas or PvP, both ends in Leaderboard competition as the highest tier of skill.

Path of wealth and resources: housing or fashion contest win is impossible without high skills in many aspects including crafting and trading.

Path of social care: helping people in game ends in managing your cozy community being raid- or guildleader.

I've only been playing the game for about 10 years, but I do know that if I were ever to reach "endgame" I would move on to something else, unlike those who rush to it in about 10 days and then spend the next 10 years either bewildered as to what "endgame" is or else complaining about it.

Fashion and Housing are the true endgame. Why do you go into the tough trials, dungeons, etc.? For the titles, mounts, and skins of course, which all fall under fashion. MMO 101: gotta look cooler than the other guys. XP

I won’t lie and say that everyone decides for themselves what high end is. In any end-game game, this is the kind of content that requires maximum mastery of the play skill.

High end/pro is different to endgame. Endgame is what you do with all the things you've mastered, and that's obviously going to be subjective. High end/true end game/elite whatever you want to call it are the players doing high skill activities.

Endgame starts somewhere around vet dlc achievements. Not sure why would someone say that only trifectas/scorepushing are the endgame (is that supposed to be sone kind of flex?). By the time you start doing dlc achievements, you have finished your endgame build, you have learned how to play, you have reasonable high cp-> you have reached the endgame. One could argue that it starts even sooner but imo it is hard to pin point exact moment because game gets easier overtime (power creep and content nerfs).

And please stop saying housing is the end game - it was supposed to be a meme :(

Why not housing? You have to farm something and sell it to make gold, because housing takes a ton of gold to do. You have to buy expensive furnishing plans and sometimes rare mats to do it too, if you can’t farm them.

For me, end game is "hard" stuff like vet dungeon, trials and such. Those activities need "high" level equipment to be better managed, what happens after we have much progressed and completed in game, so toward "end" of the game.

I personally don't categorize housing as end game. It's an activity like fishing, crafting, trading and such, as in without fighting, that we can start very early in game.

can't get some furnishings without doing vet trials and dungeons so your comment makes no sense.

While it's helpful not to have limitations when it comes to furniture one can use for a project or not, I don't think having access to every single item available is absolutely neccessary to enjoy housing. I have never done a vet trial, but so far could build everything I wanted. For example, I don't think I'll ever have use for the Nord dragon boat, so if it's locked for me because I don't do the trial, it's no problem for me.

i do want the nord boat and maormer lightning rod though and it's frustrating that they're locked behind the vet trial completion

Endgame is something I probably won't ever reach. I like tinkering with builds, but in my experience that's a very expensive and time-consuming thing to do and I don't really see it having any 'end' as long as new content keeps being added.

The harder the content is and the fewer people skilled enough to complete the content is what determines "end game". If anyone can do it, it's not end game.

tbh, you dont really need to do dungeons and trials to get nice furnishing. and you also dont make money by running dungeons/trials - you can play the economy game to get them.

it matters more in fashion, but only if you want to go flashy

Activities that benefit from a good understanding of the game, preparation and training. Something that's entertaining and rewarding and makes you feel like everything finally comes together and makes sense.

Like preparing good food with stuff from your own garden.

Doesn't have to be hard, stressful and a lot of work. Doesn't have to be something that only young, healthy and hyperintelligent people can do. But something challenging that you can learn and that gives you a good feeling when you do it. Something you can look forward to, even when the journey is your goal.

What do you consider end game? Let’s talk!!!

Making Grand Overlord is the biggest grind. Becoming a good PvPer is harder than running rotations on scripted NPCs.
