Oakenfathers retribution is a big disrepect to oakensoul user!!!
Seriously pissed off bigtime.
I mean, you dont want me cursing and dropping f bombs in your forum, but damn!!!

yea it will make me want to go to Cyrodiil and imperial city even less.

Light Armor – Oakfather’s Retribution
2 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
3 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
4 – Adds 129 Weapon and Spell Damage
5 – Gain 449 Offensive Penetration against enemies for each Major Buff they have active. Gain 20 Weapon and Spell Damage against enemies for each Minor Buff they have active.

against Oakensoul that would be 449 times 5 so 2245 extra Penetration.
and 10 minor buffs so 200 extra Weapon and Spell Damage which makes the total weapon and spell Damage of the set 587.
definitely not great for us Oakensoul users.

Not really, I think only a handfull use oakensoul now, but it is still disrecpectfull to a tryhard like me.

I would just say adapt or change if need be. I doubt many people will use this set because it would be very unpredictable.

Look, oakensoul gives me the major and minor buffs I need, without farming them meta sets. And farming them meta sets is so hard for a poor and unwanted tryhard like me, just saying.

It didn’t read “anti-oakensoul set” to me honestly. It reads more anti-tankiness, anti-coordinated group. I have heard oakensoul is a menace in no proc no cp though.

I use to run rattlecage, chudan, mothers sorrow.

That oakensoul gave me my current set of war maiden, mothers sorrow, oakensoul, shoulder slimecraw.

I think what OP is trying to convey is that because Oakensoul gives the user a whole bunch of major and minor buffs permanently this set's tooltip seems to be specifically tailored to counter it.

The name of the set is either 'a bit on the nose' or unfortunate, depending on what they meant by it or how one decides to read it (or both).

Maybe someone who plays regularly in Ravenwatch can chime in and share if this set is of any use?

I don't think Oakensoul is very relevant in other campaigns given that you cannot use both Master's DW and Vate destro with this mythic.

There's not enough PvPers wearing Oakensoul to make this worth wearing specifically against Oaken users.

I imagine it might see some use in Cryo to help against groups.

I think in principle a 'counter set' is a good approach to balancing PvP, also because it doesn't impact PvE. Personally I'd be more eager for a set that serves as a counter to undeath though.

So basically ZOS if forcing 2 bar PVP builds, which are impossible to play due to netcode/latancy for those of us with high ping (which is unresolvable becasue ZOS refuses to transfer accounts overseas for people who have moved overseas).

Well, I had my negative fill of terribly balanced PVP last night, Oakenfathers retribution is 20 nails in the coffin.

I guess its time to take another hiatus from ESO along with my wallet.

Its not a crutch, some of us can not play two bar builds due to high ping.

Oakensoul was a way for players who can not manage bar swapping in a fast paced enviuronment with a lot of movement due to health or ping issues.

This set completely negates the ability to use Oakensoul in a pvp setting.

This set will potentially see use against groups that stack up every buff in the game, but I doubt even that will last as those groups have the healing and damage to easily outlast and burn down anyone using this set against them.

As for Oakensoul, I barely see this set in Cyro (maybe it's in no CP as someone mentioned earlier?) as the only class that really fully benefits from it (Sorcerer) would rather run 1 of the meta proc stacking builds instead, especially in CP PvP.

Not that there are many of them, but this set seems like it will work in no cp / no proc, so it is kinda the new meta that idk... it maybe, kinda "might" be too strong

It's even funnier when someone will use tristat potion since it applies yet another 3 major buffs.

LOl, you can still use it......you are still getting all the buffs etc....maybe see how the counter play actually stacks up against wearing it before seeing it as the sky falling?
