Endless Archive - Rakkhat

I don't know if Rakkhat is bugged or if every other boss is bugged. With every other boss I've fought in Endless Archive if they knock you off the platform you teleport back without ending the fight or losing a thread. If Rakkhat knocks you off it kills you & you lose a thread (or at least it did on my Stamplar). This is quite annoying considering the golden circles spawn quite close to the edge of the arena, making getting knocked off the platform fairly easy to occur.

Every time a boss has knocked me off the platform I have died and lost a thread.

I have died from knock-backs I didn't block on some bosses, but once I fell during a dragon boss fight and didn't lose a thread. Not sure why there's inconsistency, and what's intended and what's not.

Yolnahkriin (I think - one of the dragons anyway) I lost a thread the first time he knocked me off but not the (two?) subsequent times.

I've been knocked off by Yolnahkiin, The frost dragon (forget his name, starts with an L), Lord Warden and the Ash Titan (not sure if its a named boss but it looks like the ash titan from CoA and Maelstrum). These are the only 4 bosses I can remember previously facing that have knocked me off the platform. On all 4 of these bosses I've reached the bottom then it takes you back up into the sky and you slowly drift down without dying/losing a thread.

I'm wondering if maybe sometimes the actual "knock" off the platform does enough damage to kill you?

Whereas if you are at full or nearly full health, the actual fall does not.

Most of my falls have been during Dragon encounters plus one I cannot remember who it was, chances are my health was quite low...... all resulted in death! 😂

Could be a few different things at play. When Rakk knocked me off last night it only just knocked me off so I kind of "slid" down the face of the arena before hitting the bottom and dying. When the dragons knocked me off I recall being "sent flying" and was some distance from the face of the cliff.

So after a few more runs it seems that if you get knocked off "proper" you will teleport back down but if you "just get knocked" off you take a huge amount of fall damage and die.

Just "died" to Zhaj’hassa the Forgotten because the pillar spawned so close to the edge that I got knocked off when the explosion happened and "slid" down the face of the cliff resulting in 75k damage. This in itself is entirely broken because if I wasn't behind the pillar I would have been one shotted anyway.

The other's I can forgive and forget and say learn from it, don't stand so close but when you have no other option it grinds your gears so much you want to stop playing it.

Maybe you had that verse named "rebirth" on. Knocking you off the platform means death.

No, the rebirth verse is a completely different animation and impossible to miss with the way it turns you into a crystal before you burst out of it.

I’ve jumped off the platform post-boss death on purpose and it didn’t take a thread. Wonder if it’s bugged or if there’s some difference between falling off and being knocked off for some reason.

Being knocked off is supposed to be lethal. But sometimes you get lucky and Joining Encounter in Progress is able to pluck you out of your fall before the fall kills you. This also happens in some other places, such as the final boss of Scrivener's.

The "Joining Encounter in Progress" works too well since I got knocked out by a dragon, then joined back just to fall again. It went like this for 30s, when the game decided to finally kill me. Pretty funny since it reminded of Loki from "Thor Ragnarok".

Haha yeah Yolnahkin the dragon knocked me off like 4 times in the one fight on Arc 3 last night. Didn't die once but just teleported back to the platform.

It felt to me like if i get completely Yeeted to the void i spawn back up, but if my feet touches the floor before while im getting yeeted then it takes away the thread. Feels like they tried to make it so you don't lose thread if you get yeeted but it counts as you falling off if you touch the floor.

If someone can confirm or deny my conspiracy i'd appreciate it

This is what I'm leaning towards as it sums up all my experiences so far. A little knock off = death, get sent for 6 = you live. (For all the Americans that's a cricket reference).

every time ive been knocked off ive been killed by it lol

there was one time though that rakkat knocked me and the partner off but he died before we hit the ground so it didnt count the death (since it only counts a thread loss during combat i think)

It 100% seems certain bosses are treated differently. I'm yet to die to a knock off by a dragon or Ash titan whereas most other bosses will result in a death. I don't know if it's a specific mechanic to the dragons and Ash titan or if it's just a case of when they knock you off you tend to get knocked off further and cross an invisible line that saves you.

Huh I *always* die when knocked off no matter who does it. I wonder what the difference is?
