Why do you guys not communicate with us? Its fine that you guys do maintenance.. but can you at least give us information? I have been defending ESO subscription to my friends for a while now but how do I defend the fact that the servers go down and we get zero information from zeno? It's like you want to make people rage and just keep trying to refresh the login screen over and over again because you literally say nothing other than the server is down. I understand this is early access, but is this seriously what we can expect from zeno in the future?

Agreed. The last update we got was basically the same thing they posted the first time.

Update #1 The North American megaserver is currently unavailable while we perform maintenance. Check here for updates

Update #2 The maintenance is still on-going for the North American megaserver, and we will share updates as we receive them.

Obviously aware that maintenance is still going on.....

    Yeah. This is utterly amateurish.

If you don't tell your players, who are paying for the game, when the server will be back up, you at least tell us what the *** is wrong.

I don't care if Milosh tripped over the power cord of the server cluster and you have to emergency order a new one from China and in the meantime are trying to splice together a new cord from the offcuts of bad cellphone chargers. If you tell us that you're doing this then you show that you actually give a cherry-topped turd about the thousands of people who are sitting in the dark, waiting for the game they paid to play to come online.

It's been seven hours. We're owed an explanation at this point.

    What's wrong.

Why it's taking so *** long to fix.

I will continue to be utterly pissed off with your entire company and be completely unsatisfied with the laughable 'customer service' until these two questions are answered.

We're not owed anything,so you're likely to continue to be 'pissed off'. Knowing what's wrong isn't a 'right' nor at all useful to us, it won't help Zenimax fix whatgever's broken any sooner.

Stop ranting, go outside and get some fresh air or go play something else.

Actually were owed a working product that we all paid for.

I've been outside all day. It is currently 8:50PM here in Australia. It is passed prime time. We've gone through prime time and gone right to when most people need to go to bed.

It's been seven *** everloving hours. I paid for early access. So did nearly everyone else on these forums. If something seriously interrupts that time, then we deserve an explanation on why in the *** we're not getting what we paid for, or at least an estimation of when we will be able to do what we paid to do.

7 hours is already 5.6% of the entire early access period.

And hey, you might think I'm 'entitled', but I have a reasonable expectation that when I put down $130 on a game then maybe, just maybe, I should be getting what I paid for, or at least told why I'm not getting that.

Maintenance of 1-2 hours? Even up to 3 or 4! I can handle that.

But SEVEN *** HOURS with no information and no estimation of duration? That is utterly unacceptable. And if you think that is acceptable, then please, go back to brownnosing zenimax in a different thread and don't bother replying.

Read the EULA, which is your contract with Zenimax, that's the limit of your entitlement, certainly we're not owed any explanation for anything.

Well, it doesn't really matter whether customers are owed explanation or not. It would still be in Zenimax's best interests to improve dialog and relations with its player base. I disagree with you that it's not useful for us to have any idea what's going on behind the scenes. People appreciate honesty, and some degree of transparency is good, these things go a long way towards customer loyalty and confidence in zenimax as a competent company.

I don't know what we're owed or not owed, but I agree with the statement that this is being handled in an amateur way.

Why would you issue an update that contains no information? And why do they keep promising more information, and then not delivering it?

That's sort of alarming to me, because it makes it seem like this caught them completely off guard, and they had no system in place for dealing with a server crash and getting information out to the players in an organized, orderly way.

If they didn't know something like this was likely to happen, and didn't plan for it, then that would be a huge warning sign about the future stability of this game.

And if they did know, and did plan for it, and this is their idea of a good job handling a server being down, that's almost worse.

I'm quite sure the folks at Zenimax are working as quickly as possible to restore normal gaming. They wouldn't take the servers offline like this unless there was a significant problem. I believe the downtime may be related to this thread and I for one would like it totally fixed before we can log back in: http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/64017/everything-in-my-bank-is-gone-deleted-while-playing#latest

Cut the devs a break guys. They are trying to fix something and have been up all night doing so. You did say you want a working product, right? You may get an explanation later but they definitely don't OWE you one. Maybe they're dealing with an exploit and don't really want to tell you about it until it's completely fixed. As someone else noted, the terms of service state that "You agree that ZeniMax will not be liable for any interruption of the Services, delay or failure to perform, any loss of Content ... resulting from any causes whatsoever." Yes I did read the Terms, and yes they are posted on the web for you to read before purchase. They did not give you a SLA with a guaranteed uptime. They did give you an update; they said they are still working on it. If the game will be better for it then let them fix it.

I think everyone here is aware that the world is going to keep on turning, with or without ESO.

But this forum is for discussing ESO, and the game has been down for a long time without explanation or apology.

I can't imagine what else people would be talking about in the Elder Scrolls Online customer support forum.

    Ive got to ask:
do other People really read all those different Agreements u have to accept before u start the game??? Me? well....i work a 12 hr day come home and wanna Play ESO so OF COURSE I cant wait to read through several pages of that drek, ring up my lawyer double check any question about it that I might have with about it with him. Than draft my Counter proposal for zeni and fire that off and pressto in 5-7 days i can Play the game with exactly the same Agreement which i am not able to Change in any way shape or form and simply have to agree to if i want to Play the game.......
in case u were wondering thats sarcasm - but in all honesty howmany People have REALLY read that Thing??? just reading some of the comments on the Forums it feels like a lot of People here were way more interessted in reading those pages of dribbel rather than getting to the game

I really doubt that it's a 'giant server bug' because US and EU are running two separate servers, using the same architecture, and one of them is still up.

Riddle me this: If it was a huge server bug, why wouldn't they have taken both servers down at the same time, to fix it on both servers?

Furthermore, why in the everliving *** would they not want to inform us about a bug they're in the process of fixing? If they're fixing it, we can't exploit it because it'll be fixed!

    LOGIC!

Since it's only the NA server that's down, is the EU server not affected by this wrong-account/missing-bank-items issue?

I dunno, I kinda feel like they're only focus are the people waiting for release to play/buy the game and to heII with the pre-orders. I think I saw something at the bottom of one of those posts stating, "HAHAHA thanks for the pre-order muneez b******!"

To the issue of what we're owed, they might not owe us anything according to some wordy legal jargon but it would be nice if they're Customer Service was as awesome as the game. This level of service reminds me of SOE back when EQ and SWG were big.

If you want a working product, be thankful for maintenance. Maintenance exists so you can have a working product.

Anyway, I'm sure we will hear more when there is actually some progress to report. They have more important things to do than coming here and telling you about what they are trying to fix.

I 100% agree with the OP! Give us some info. Make us feel connected. In previous games and even some upcoming ones I just loved how open the dev team was with the community about what was going on. Your community obviously likes your product but these vague "maintenance" messages just *** everyone off...

Pretty sure the people who post information here on the forums aren't going to know anymore than we do unless the ones doing the maintenance actually tell them what is happening and detail their steps in attempting to fix the issues. As I said already, the ones fixing it have better things to do than spending their time filling in people on information.
