    Maybe a non-human companion?
Like, say a daedra, werewolf, vampire, factotum, automaton, dwemer construct, a ghost, a wraith, a linch, a dragon, a lion, a wolf, a head in a jar?

Have to go through the 10 standard races first or the fanbase for the missing races would say they been slighted. Anything after that would have to something that can equip and show off the weapons and armor so Maormer is possible.

I personally expect the Companions system to reuse the races and classes that players can use. Non-player races would have to have the Companion version of that race's Racial Passives made, which would bring into question what the player version of those Racial Passives would be. Non-player classes would run into a similar issue, where there would be a Companion version of some skill lines to which there is no player equivalent.

I'd like to see the Companion AI expanded upon, and also I'd like to see some of the other player skill lines being given a Companion equivalent. For instance, how might a Companion's Assault, Support, or Psijic Order skill line look like? How about the Companion version of the Werewolf or Vampire skill lines? If we get a new skill line in the future, would future Companions get their own version of it, too?

companions only have one racial passive skill so that wouldn't be very complicated to just make up one passive for a non playable race(that isn't even exactly what the playable version of the race has).

unless zos really is planning on adding more races. if they are then that's fun
Non-player classes would run into a similar issue, where there would be a Companion version of some skill lines to which there is no player equivalent.

i think zos is probably gonna repeat existing classes for future companions unless they make more classes.
though they could use skills exclusive to NPCs, but i don't know if there's enough for a whole companion class

If we get a new skill line in the future, would future Companions be able to access it?

we can only acquire those skill lines through dlc story quests or pvp so i doubt they'll get them.
and the only Psijic Order skill i could even see being used for companions is Time Stop.
all the companions' personal quests are in their chapter and base game zones so people who only have a new chapter and no other dlc can finish the quests anyway.

if one of their companion's skill lines were exclusive to dlc like Summerset not everyone would be able to completely level their companions, unless zos makes Summerset free.

if we get a werewolf or vampire companion i think it's likely they'll use a few of those skills.
maybe the curse skill line would replace one of their class skill lines.

but any future skill line would come from a future chapter and thus not not something everyone would be able to access.
it could be given to that chapter's companions sure but then they would probably be seen as better than the old companions due to having more skills. which seems bad.

I hope that Werewolf and Vampire are their own skill lines, rather than replacing one of the Class skill lines. For the Companion version of each Class, each of the three Class skill lines are relegated to either Damage Dealing, Healing, or Tanking, so replacing one of those would lock a Companion out of having the effective tools for fulfilling one of those roles.

I find it much more likely that a cursed Companion will have a brand new skill line that is dedicated to the World category, rather than having those skills replace the Class skills. This especially means that a Vampire or Werewolf companion is still a humanoid with a Class — which means no Werewolves who are permanently locked in form, and no Vampires who can't use non-Vampire skills.

More plainly, this means that there would not be a generic "werewolf" or "vampire" Companion without a class. As an example, you would find an Orc Dragonknight Werewolf, not simply an Orc Werewolf. The curse does not replace the class.

Aren't there already some companion class skills that don't have a player counterpart? I know Sharp, Isobel and Bastian's ultis don't.

Bastian's ultimate is something mobs already do, Isobel's is Dawnbreaker from Fighters guild, Sharp's is unique, yes.

Companion Ultimates have always been unique, but they're always something related to their class and their personality. For instance, Bastian's temper synergizes well with his class as a Dragonknight, and this is reflected in his Ultimate, Unleashed Rage.

I don't expect the Companion Ultimates to have a player counterpart, because that's already been the established norm that they're unique to the Companion.

I know I don’t speak for everyone when I say that I would rather we receive an update to how well Companions perform rather than just adding two more to the list.

When I look at the Companions we do have, I see potential not quite reached as currently they provide most of their help in Overland. If you take them into any serious form of content, they simply fall over.

Why I see this as a problem, is that the only time you would need them, is for the content that they can’t seem to stay alive in.
