Make grim focus glow effect only appear at 4/5 stacks

Permanent red glowing is super annoying. There is no single person who would enjoy it. If it will only be visible at 4 or 5 stacks it's a win/win situation because 1) No more annoying permanent glowing. 2) It will be visual indicator that you've got 5 stacks. Same goes to sorc's bound armaments.

Yes, pretty much everyone I know including myself agreed it should only glow at full stacks, good luck on getting it changed. As a necro main I've been waiting years for a basic buff every other class in the game has, so it may be a while before they get around to it :)

I’ve said it in another thread, but I actually enjoy the new red glow. It turns any motif into an Arm’s Pack.

It’s also extremely helpful to spot the Nightblades in a group, allowing you to keep an eye on which targets are likely to blast you with a 15k spec bow.

The only compromise I see being made, is disabling the aura out of combat, other than than that, it’s been stated it’s not a bug, and there are definitely people who love the change.

It doesn't annoy me at all, unlike stack counter removal. Make it glow at 4/5 stacks and you will almost never see it, wasted visual effect

So there's already a thread here about this topic. Not sure why we need the 60th thread talking about the same thing: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/641376/grim-focus-permaglow

It's almost as if a large group of people is angry about it.

Honestly, what harm do those threads to you?

Then leave it to the moderators? You don't have to play hallway cop.

And really, nobody forces you to read this or other threads, and there is certainly no reason to imply that nightblade players 'live in a bubble' just because they presently have an issue many of them are angry about. I could go on a rant on Magsorc PvP just as easily, definitely absolutely abhor the Jab Visual Change, am still salty about the Lightning/Inferno changes but right now, this glow is what irritates me.

That won't work. You can only see this "intended aura" on your own nb, not on others.

I'm fine with your compromise tho, for me it would be sufficient to be able to deactivate it outside combat (without gimping my nb by unslotting grim focus).

I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

That's one funny detail, you can actually see the effect on others but only if they slotted the skill while next to you.

Regardless of that, the effect is hideous and ruins any arms pack I'm wearing, the fact that it remains when you sheath your weapon is invasive to a point it makes me want to implode.

Lol, didn't know that. Thanks for sharing.

All they have to do is turn the glow off when your weapons are put away. That’s it. I would walk away from the fight if that change were made. When my swords go on my belt, or my staff goes on my back I should not see a glow.

No other weapon pack or item does this. Anytime you buy a crown item with a fancy glow or effect, they fade when you sheath you weapon, and anything that doesn’t fade immediately like the new Archanist skills are on a timer that fades away eventually (and people keep trying to compare this to that.)

Yeah exactly, they can't really compare with anything because it's not a permanent visual pollution, at least the Arcanist one is pretty, I honestly think the best solution would make the effect only show up when fully stacked as a sign that you can fire your arrow, but we've been saying that months and I guess it's too much to ask.

No, it should only be when you use the skill and to indicate stacks — otherwise it serves zero purpose. And I would like to see the glow that I DID pay for, on the Chokethorn bow that I bought, which is only visible when the weapon is out and the hideous perma-glow isn’t slotted.

I didn’t like the changes to flurry or jabs, but those were obviously intentional, so I could only state my opinion and then move on. But this is so obviously a bug, and always in my face if I were to slot the skill; it is completely unacceptable and should not have gone live as is.

I agree with you, just at the very least they need to have it disappear in some regard. Permaglow is silly

Just here to chime in that I find the glow deeply upsetting. I honestly wish there was no glow at all, but having it glow only at max stack would also be a significant improvement. As it is, I glow like a Christmas tree :(

Just here to chime in that I find the glow deeply satisfying. I honestly wish there was a blue glow, because i hate red color, but having it at all is a significant improvement over this game's lack of class diversity and identity. As it is, I feel a glimpse of customization which this game lacks very much.

Now there’s even less class diversity as the only way to get decent damage on a nightblade is to accept this ugly red permaglow. To me, your comment emphasizes why this should be fixed/reverted and more customization options given to players as weapon styles or other options: You could play with glowing blue weapons on whatever class you like while I could again play a stealthy nightblade that looks the part. :)

100% agree. My Nightblade has always rocked a vibrant green outfit, and the glowing red effect makes him look like a Christmas tree whenever I have Grim Focus slotted.

I fail to see how enforcing a uniform glow across nightblades qualifies as customization.
