Must play ToT for Glyphic Secrets Music Box lead

The drop rate on this lead is exceedingly low. I'd go so far as to say it's broken. I played only about 10 dailies for my first copy. Nearly 50!!! dailies for my second copy and outright gave up after 70 dailies for my third copy with no luck.

There is grind then there is whatever this is and it's not fun or rewarding.

I've decided that I am not going to try for the codex on this. Doing this 2 more times is more torture than I am willing to endure, especially for a music box that doesn't play a song but is more like a disconnected hodge podge of unpleasant ambient sounds.

It does look good but I'm stopping at one.

This is what I wanted to do as well. I also just wanted another box for another house because I like its ambience.

My first box took me 8 days of dailies on a single character. I've stopped at the second one after about two weeks of dailies on three characters per day.

It was an hour and a half per day, assuming I won every game. I've been playing since 2016 and nothing has ''demoralized'' me except for this. Just not worth it.

I actually like the card game but the drop should have increased chances tbh.

Least in losing coffers

Highest chance from gold coffers




I still say the Card game is a good time killer and fun against NPC's. My wish is that the rewards will be better.

I loved the rewards from the game before they nerfed it hard.

Multi-lead antiquities should absolutely be available from the achievement vendor after completing it a single time.

This is coming from somebody that finally got it after close to 60 matches and from someone that does NOT really enjoy the ToT game all that much - on the positive side, I’m extremely happy to have stuff be earnable in game, something that I think we all take for granted sometimes. Considering how many rewards are in the crown store that SHOULD be in the game, I’m fine with this on that side.

What I DO think, for what it’s worth, is not that it should be removed from ToT, but just that the drop rate be slightly increased due to many people not enjoying the game and the matches taking quite a bit of time sometimes. Those two things together have created the problem.

I cannot stand ToT, the fact leads are locked behind it really is both frustrating & unpalatable to me.

I got this lead 3 times. Useless to me since I don't have Necrom. Drop rate is fine.

Now, please add unique top-tier gear to ToT and we'll be all set.

Of course you have to play tot for leads, someone created that game and believed it would be a huge success but ended up 9/10 players barley know it exsist because its so boring.

Putting leads in it makes the 1/10 feels a bit happy thats the way Zos works

this intrigued me, i hadn't bothered checking out the music box because my chances of playing enough tot (have not tried it, zero interest in computer card games) to get it are somewhere between extremely unlikely and never. sounds pretty good, speaking as someone with a music collection that includes lots of unpleasant ambient sounds. probably never see it though. others with unnatural aesthetics may also enjoy it and want to seek it out. not as good as say, jazz funk greats, but more pleasing than most of the boxes.

I think it sounds bad and isn't even a song. It does look good though as a furnishing but there is is no way I'd go through more ToT to get the codex unless they greatly increase the drop rate.

If anyone on PCNA wants to hear it first hand I'd be glad to show you.

kindly offer silverbride, i found it easily on youtube. perhaps this one music box is more intended for people that enjoy experimental music. if they really wanted to appeal to eso players i think they should make a music box that plays metal guitar riffs, that seems to be a favoured genre here.

Is it worse than the druid music box? Thats another one which is decorative but I was quite disappointed when I finally got it and then heard the sound...

And I'll add my 135 games (wins) and counting isn't fine either.

I can't imagine me saying the mushroom book droprate is fine because I got absurdly lucky and got 2 leads from 7 maps even though it's taken other people hundreds of them to get just one.

It's much worse. I actually enjoy the druid music box because it it melodic and peaceful. There is nothing enjoyable about the sound of this one.

Why doesn't zos just put the same lead behind two very different things. So tot AND some wb or some chest in a public dungeon or some other thing. Then the card gamers are happy and everyone else is happy too.

When I looked up where to get this lead I was reading that it was from doing a ToT daily, but has it actually been verified that we must be doing a daily for it to drop? Or can it also drop from just playing an NPC in any of the taverns, or from playing others through the activity finder?

it drops from the TOT reward coffers, you get basically the same coffers from the dailies and playing matches

if you did the NPC daily, won against 1 NPC and turned in the daily, you would get 2 green boxes (1 from the match, 1 from the daily)

the box from the daily just upgrades if you do more wins (for the npc daily, its 1 green box for 1 win, 1 blue box for 2 wins, 1 purple box for 3 wins)

Okay, let's talk about ridiculous RNGeesus. I've done Arx Corinium dozens of times and the lead for the furnishing that drops there, a cool statue, simply won't drop (it's my second one). I killed the Nightmare WB in Necrom countless times during the event and the lead for the mirror furnishing didn't drop; it's the third one and I really want to get it before people stop doing bosses there. I lost count how many times I ran Wayrest Sewers and I simply can't get the final lead for the Galen music box (first one). And then we have the leads from treasure maps, of which I got a grand total of zero during the recent event.

I think I got my ToT lead on the third purple coffer from the daily quest. Compared to what I've read in this thread, this was immensely lucky. I quite liked the music box, but I can't see myself going for two more of the card leads.

correct, doing the daily just gives you a bonus, likely higher value coffer

since the green ones are rarely likely to have the lead or other valuable items, and thats all you get from the NPC matches, might as well be doing the daily for the purple box too, so thats 4 boxes per day per character for 3 matches

i think the only coffer that the lead cannot drop from is the defeat coffer (the white one), i dont think anything of value (pelin paragon style pages, etc) can drop from the defeat coffer either

that one usually only has gold, and 2 material drops instead of 3

as far as i can tell the reward structure of the coffers is:

• gold (all coffers, amount of gold increases with coffer quality)
• 2 mats of 5-20 count (pretty much unchanged across all coffers, quantity of mat varies depending on the mat itself)
• roll for additional item (can be a mat, or transmute crystals, not guaranteed but increased chance on coffer quality)
• roll for rare item (furnishing items, furnishing blueprints, achievement consumables, style pages, gold temper mat, etc can be obtained on green but low chance, chance increases with quality of coffer)
