Must play ToT for Glyphic Secrets Music Box lead

I played 12 games today and went for the purple coffers, although a few times in the past 2 days I only got a blue coffer for beating all 3 NPCs...

I am about over this. In the past few days I've played about 33 games... which I did NOT enjoy...

I hope they take a look at this because a LOT of players do not like or even play ToT and the drop on this lead is extremely low. Plus these games take a lot of time which only adds to the frustration.

This music box is a great new furnishing and a lead should not be in a feature that so many do not even play, and that can't just be learned in a day for those that want to try for it.

@ZoS_Kevin Will they please take a look at this and consider increasing the drop rate at the very least? Or taking it out of ToT completely? I believe the only leads in ToT should be for ToT related things like decks or card upgrades. It is such a niche feature that it will keep many from getting this.

Still have never played ToT and will not start just to get a furnishing item lead.

Not being into house decorating, that doesn't bother me, but I can understand how it might bother others. If it was a Mythic weapon or jewelry item, that would be different.

I would be fine if they increased the drop rate. This lead and many others could certainly stand to be more reasonable to get.

I'd be pretty mad if ToT was the only content that I don't have nice things to work on. I like having leads. I enjoy Tales. I think Tales players should get the same enjoyment out of the game as everyone else.

I am into decorating. I have 28 decorated houses so far and this music box would have been really nice in my Arcanist's study/laboratory.

It took me about 40-60 boxes for the lead, got it twice. Once out of a green and once out of a white box.

ToT should have nice things to work on and I'd be fine if there were some ToT related furnishings etc. that required playing for the leads. But this is the new music box in the new zone that has absolutely nothing to do with the card game AND ToT has a specific small population that plays it regularly.

There are leads to cosmetics in all other content. I don't want Tales to be any different. Housing itself is niche, but I wouldn't suggest that housing rewards only come from picking plants for materials.

I think this stands out to me because it's a new Music Box furnishing in the new zone that is related to the new chapter... and it takes 10 leads already, one of which is in a card game that many don't play AND it has a low drop rate. Frankly, I am dismayed by this choice.

I do understand your frustration but at least the music box CAN be earned with in game activities, which cost only time.

I love decorating and it frustrates the hell out of me that so many of the really nice furniture items end up in crown crates, the crown store or the housing editor crown store, those are unfortunately totally beyond my reach!! :'(

That's definitely understandable. I don't understand why they keep breaking up antiquities into more and more leads, while also still have super low drop rates. It makes it so much more grindy than it needs to be.

    Time is money though.

I'd rather spend 10 dollars to buy this music box than the over 20 raw hours I've spent playing TOT games for the lead.

To be clear, it's not like I like putting things in the crown store, especially when it's 100-500 crowns sometimes for a single, normal furnishing, but there comes a point where an ingame droprate is so abysmal that earning it ingame isn't the better alternative anymore.

Well, it's they make limited amount of content per year andthey want players keep playing and pay for ESO+ &cet. If they decide to release less content then they need to increase grind.
I did try the Endless Archive at PTS, soloed the 1st arc including final boss and to me it's repetitive tedious and boring trash grind. And I expect its going to be released just as it is now. If the trend of grind over content continues, I guess its time to try some other game

Agree. And above all, it no longer has anything to do with enjoyment in the game, but rather solely with frustration or anger. The game should make the users happy and excited, but not depressed...

As much as I dislike ToT it's not that fact that the lead is in the card game that is my biggest issue. It's that it takes 3 games to get a purple reward coffer and the drop rate for the lead is low.

I got all the other leads for this music box very quickly. I really don't want to give up but after just one day of trying I'm not sure how much more I can do.

I played 21 games today and got nothing but frustration.

Frustration? I have some if that. I'm afraid to get more because I don't know what to do with it. I have limited space to store it.

Ironman is not fun for everybody, and that applies in real life as much as it does for games. I am not a fan of ZOS adding these multi-part multi-genre rewards to the game. Rewards should be for the people who play the content where the reward is earned, and Ironman rewards should be few and far between. Otherwise, it feels like ZOS is "managing" the players to drive them to different parts of the game.

They've always done that though. Now they're just quadrupling down on it. I'm perfectly happy that I'm not fond of music boxes (because the range of hearing the music is so small), because I'm not touching the card game, just so not my thing in any game.

It's really great that they have rewards through the antiquities system for many different playstyles. It's not really great that they cause anger, frustration and angst because of their "we want every player to do everything in game" (of course they do, but a lot of us aren't interested in everything) - but ramping up numbers of leads (just like ramping up numbers of fragments from dungeons etc) while pinching the RNG until it squeaks is just not optimal at all.

Two things mixed together... antiquities that cross too many play styles and low drop rates. I observe that ZOS has issues with drop rates, and I am not participating in the "community event vote" for that reason. I don't participate in a few things for that reason. I find it frustrating, and I have enough frustration. It is one reward that does not have a low RNG.

Going forward, my belief is that they need to scale back the Ironman stuff. That is the stuff that has a broad reach across the game to include different modes and play styles for the same objective, reward, or achievement. Having it is fine. Having too much of it, maybe not as fine.

If they are, in fact, attempting to manage players into playing all parts of the game using rewards, I would hope that they first attempt to diagnose why this action is even needed and then address that. I maintain that using rewards to fix stuff like that isn't really addressing anything. Any uptick in participation that they might see does not mean people are liking what they are doing.

I have every lead for this music box except the Ink Wood Lead. I played multiple daily ToT games on 7 different characters today and hated every second of it, and still no lead. This is a very bad place to put a lead because the daily takes 3 games for the purple box which seems to be the one most have gotten it from.

I'm not asking that the lead be moved out of ToT, although I'd love if it was. But please increase the drop chance for all the reward coffers. I hate to miss out on this music box I've worked so hard to achieve but I can't spend hours every day playing multiple games of ToT for such a low drop rate.

    @ZOS_Kevin

Hi SilverBride, not sure if you are aware but you can increase your chances of lead dropping if you make sure any other gold leads you currently have are collected prior to going for the ToT lead. This little trick helped me with the leads from the dailies for the Markyn ring. Good luck!

I didn't know that but I excavate all my leads as soon as I get them anyway.

I played 3 more games last night which brings my total to 36 now if I remember correctly. This kind of drop rate should never happen for any lead in any circumstance. The whole antiquity system needs to be reevaluated because they cross too many play styles and have low drop rates as @Elsonso pointed out.

This has become a painfully tedious chore rather than a fun adventure for assembling a nice new furnishing.

Well I finally got it after 42 games. I got it from the mailed green coffer after winning a match.

I still think that is way too low a drop rate but am happy I finally got it today when the new house I want to place it in was rewarded.

The drop rates for leads should increase as the time you've spent in the content increases. The fact that this person had to play hours upon end to get this lead is ridiculous.

And I also wish ZoS would quit gating leads behind TREASURE MAPS. IMO that is on par with the ridiculous hoops ZoS made this person go through.

I actually don't mind ToT, my main complaint is that each match takes so bloody long - they need to speed up everything x2, it's ridiculous how long everything takes. I also shouldn't have to do 3 matches to get the daily - that takes almost 2 hours, it's ridiculous. The drop rate and rewards are abysmal, as well - there's nothing more insulting than spending 2-3 hours playing and then getting 10 worthless runestones - I've played around 100 matches and honestly had no ideas leads even dropped. Multiply the drop-rate of everything by 5x and speed the games up, devs.

Players that have never played ToT may want this music box and decide to go for the lead, but they will have a pretty hard time because ToT cannot be learned in a day. And now that there are so many decks and even the "easiest" Novice NPCs are much tougher, they don't stand a chance.

You'll be able to buy leads with endless archive currency once endless archive comes out. The first arc is apparently ridiculously easy and takes 10-20 minutes depending on player skill. You get a decent amount of currency per run, and there's nothing stopping you from running just the first arc over and over to get the currency.

The leads cycle through randomly. Still, it's a nice addition.

I rarely play ToT. I played a handful of matches (Less than 10 since Necrom released) and got my last lead for the music box today. - I played a competitive match against another player.
