Class Set Feedback

    DK: Oakensoul was OP because of ult gen on DKs? No problem, we will nerf Oakensoul and create DK only set with major/minor heroism
    Sorc: just another pve set
    NB: not bad, actually. May be there will be more ranged mNBs
    Necro: minor resolve - not funny. minor protection - doesn't worth 5piece set. beautiful corpse - we need decent corpse consumer skills first.

    Oakensoul was OP not just because of heroism but because of combination of all strong major buffs at once.

    It's too bad Zos doesn't really listen to feedback like this. They've already committed to 5 piece sets with the generic 2-4 piece abilities. And the 5 piece bonus? Mediocre at best for the most part. And it seems like they're going to make them based on the 3 roles, tank healer and DPS. That means your suggestion for the winter themed one won't happen, since it'll probably be a tanking set. Personally, I'm happy that the Animal Companions set will probably be a DPS set, but just looking at the sets that already are announced, I'm not holding my breath for anything actually usable at end-game. For example, I wouldn't be surprised to see Zos pulling something with the sorc and warden sets, saying something like "we saw how you all want to use your pet skills on one bar, now you can by sacrificing a 5 piece set!" and tying that kind of ability to a class set, thus killing that hope (personally, don't think the bear needs to be a 1 bar skill, but still I could see this happening).

    Yeah, I would fear that they make it a tanking set because they are so determined to force that into being a thing.

    Is grinding out the new Endless Archive currency going to be required to purchase these sets? Is that how it's going to work?

    I haven't played but from what I seen you should get drops and then be able to spend currency as well.

    I dont know how many times i have say this: people go on and on about how "op" blades are but literally they are dumpster in 12 man. Like 💯 useless. They are buffing them trying to find a way to fix that but because of the specific class style it is literally impossible to do without it being broken for pvp. Period. Dk gets buffed just to buff it, blades get buffed because they are hoping they will hit a middle ground somewhere eventually. Dk has NEVER had the same kind of nerfs as blades, they have been strong patch after patch. Go to elswyer patch notes and tell me blades werent nerfed into the ground. Before that it was actually broken in pvp lol. The buff to concealed gave them the first buff to make them mildly viable for pve in ages. The stupid thing they did was to have the buff be proced by sneak which was just a poor balance choice. Otherwise it was not a bad buff but nowhere near other classes for group. Lemme break it down for yah:

    Dk pros: excellent in pvp, 4 man, 12 man and is the gold standard for tanks to the point it can solo tank any and all content. Amazing full damage in content dd and as support dd because it has excellent synergy with so many sets.

    Dk cons: not great as a healer. Not great in arenas.

    NB pros: excellent in pvp, good as a group healer, good in arenas, great for vas.

    Cons: terrible dd in 12 man because of inconsistent damage, poor synergy with support sets, poor group buffs, poor tanking, marginal in 4 man, being replaced as a healer in 12 man by arc.

    Yeah totally comparable 😑

    Oh yeah- for new sets:

    Dk: no downtside or trade off

    NB: sacrifices Incap for proc

    It doesnt make a lot sense to post this now, because it is long gone but if you have played before 2017 dk was crap. It had sooo much sustain issues that it was absolutely terrible in pvp. Back in the day dk was one of the worst classes in pvp and the first years you did bite your ass if you picked it.

    According to 9.2.0 patch notes it was stated that siphoning ultimates not gaining bonuses from soulcleaver was an issue:

    Soulcleaver
    Siphoning Ultimate and its morphs do not currently gain the correct bonuses from Soulcleaver.

    However, in 9.2.1 patch notes there is a this change:

    Soul Cleaver: Updated this set’s tooltip to mention that the Siphoning Ultimate does not gain the damage or healing increase since you spend your Ultimate upon activation, putting you under its requirement of 20 Ultimate to gain the set’s effects.

    Why shouldn't soulcleaver affect ultimates? "since you spend your ultimate upon activation, putting you under it's requierement of 20 ultimatee to gain the set's effect" - there are other sets that work in a simmilar way, for example if you cast siphoning ultimate(or any ultimate) with balorgh equipped the ultimate WILL receive balorgh's buff! It was stated that this is an issue that siphoning ultimates do not gain "correct bonuses from soulcleaver", so I thought there will be a patch next week that will fix the problem that siphoning ultimates don't gain any damage and healing buff from soulcleaver, but instead we have a change that makes this set allmost useless :(. It makes no sence for soulcleaver to not affect ultimates both balance wise(because this set is not overpowered this way, it forces you to use different skills that you would never use without it, like swallow soul, but makes them a good alterantive to a regular builds, which is just perfect!) and logic wise(why wouldn't soulcleaver affect ultimates if balorgh does? Not to mention that balorgh's requierement is to SPEND your ultimate points, but it still affect your ultimate, but soulcleaver's requierement is just having 20+ ultimate points, which you obisuously have while casting your siphoning ultimate)

    Among all of the other class sets soulcleaver was the most unique and interesting one since if you decide to wear it will absolutely change your nightblade's playstile, adding soo much of variativity to this class since all of the nightblaes use one the same build structure unline DKs or wardens whos playstile can be completely different but equially good depending on the build(even magicka and stamina nightblades are barely different from each other...). Magicka warden feels soo much different from stamina warden but if you see a nightblade it's hard to tell if it's magicka or a stamina one. There is a one change that can turn another useless set that nobody is going to use into a verry interesting set that has a unique mechanic and gives nightblades a completely new playstyle while keeping the current one at the same time. This change is letting soulcleaver to affect ultimate.

    i think soul cleaver should definitely feel better, it's a unique concept.

    Just an update on this.. can these class sets get a serious buff? the majority of them are not being used yet they're meants to be (from what I understand) almost like mythics in the way that you'd now run a class set, monster set, mythic and general set. The class sets just dont hold a light to any other easier to acquire sets, and for the lengths you have to go to get these sets and to actually use them, they should be a lot stronger. Buff's please.

    i know a friend who has been trying out gardner of seasons on a healer and the DK set

    i think some of the problem is it does take awhile to build up the gear set to have pieces you want

    if you are only completing arc 1, you only get 1 pc of class gear, that would be at minimum 5 runs on the same class

    ive been running it a significant amount so i have a lot of the arcanist gear collected but not much of the other sets yet

    i kind of want to try the templar set but dont have enough collected with it right now

    necromancer set forces you to tank but there are better tank option in my opinion
