Undaunted Arms Pack Refund

@ZOS_Kevin

I believe the problem with Grim Focus Permaglow is aptly laid out in this thread:
https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/641376/grim-focus-permaglow

Since you yourself has stated this change to be intentional and the latest incremental patch has not come with change or communication, I assume this situation is going to last.

This means that any and all Undaunted Arms Pack (Kargaeda, Prior Thierric and so on) are now effectively unusable for my nightblades since the Grim Focus visual overlaps with the visual effects from the arms packs, thus completely invalidating the reason on why I buy these packs in the first place.

I have thus filed a ticket for a refund request since ZOS massively altered content I paid for to the point of unusability, but support hasn't even properly understood what my problem was. I'd thus appreciate if you could tell them that this is not a bug and here to stay, and that they should refund me my crowns for all Undaunted Arms Packs with glowing visual effects instead of telling me to file a bug report.

Ticket# is 230906-004945. Thank you.

I'm not really looking to discuss this, Daoin. If you are happy with ZOS severely altering things you paid for that's okay.

But I'm not. I bought the Nerien'eth Pack because of the Nerien'eth visual effect and have no use for Nerien'eth with added red glow. I certainly wouldn't have bought it back then knowing this, and that goes for all other Arms Packs as well.

I doubt you will get a refund. Mostly because 1) the arm pack works as intended and 2) the glow you dislike is only present on one class, and only when a specific skill is slotted.

fair enough, i can understand though how it may not be everyones cup of tea for NB's

If you were not looking to discuss it then perhaps starting a discussion thread on the forums is not the best pick of places..I get you are trying to get a response from ZOS, but this is a forum where people will discuss the topics posted....

It's optimistic hoping for a ZOS response imo.

they will issue a refund. zos is extremely understanding and helpful with these types of things. i purchased a pack before and did not realize the effect was ONLY while it was unsheathed...i thought staff would still glow while it was on my back. they refunded my currency and removed the appearance.

just be patient....i am sure they are busy.

true, i was disappointed when the effects went away.. I would've bought EVERY Arms pack released if they were all Perma Glows :'(

Going via forum or twitter if Customer Support is failing is neither new nor has it been ineffective so far.

And frankly, I'm really wondering why everyone is dropping in here just to try and tell me how it's not going to work or isn't that bad. Like, you don't have to like it or believe it. I'm not asking for opinions. I'm merely flagging ZOS staff for failing customer support via established means.

That's all there is to it.

i see on the 21st there was a message saying it works as intended and they are montoring the situation suggesting you knew about the glow before the purchase anyway..not pointing fingers as is only a discussion after all, but also that you had noticed the effects of the glow with armpacks from earlier than this one can i ask why you purchased the pack in the first place knowing the facts anyway ? knowing specifically it would be for the NB (not trying to start an argument before this gets clipped, just curious if my view of timing is all wrong)

I bought these packs well before the glow became a thing. How couldn't I, given the vast majority of them weren't even available after the glow became a thing?

Like, it's not like the Arms Packs are available year round.

yes i still agree with you it could or should be an issue which maybe a refund or simply working to stop the glow from effecting arm packs should be looked at though, personally i would go down the road of working on the NB'S glow rather than a refund but thats only because i have many classes...hope you get your refund looks like an annoying thing, i only have 1 NB so honestly i did not really know much about the issue although i like arm packs, but now i understand more. but also a refund wont help with the packs bought before this latest one still

it impacts more players than you'd think. the skill is the cornerstone for most nightblade builds in any content that requires you to be dealing damage. it's burst damage that rivals some ultimates. you're frankly throwing if you're purposely not running it. outside of gameplay utility it's a comparable complaint to the animation changes for templar jabs, another hotly disliked change; most don't find it visually appealing at all.

vanilla counters for the skill are also bugged (confirmed on consoles in this thread) and having the visual indicator like this certainly doesn't alleviate these problems.

    Hi there,

We have gone ahead and moved this thread to a category we think is more suitable for this topic, General Help. We've also removed a few post that were baiting. Please remember to keep the conversation civil.

    Thank you for your understanding.

Hope you can get it sorted.
Weapon cosmetics are becoming less and less desirable, with all the vanishing weapon animations and the silly forced glow. If i played NB, I would probably want a refund on my glowy weapons too

So, as it stands this refund request continues to get rejected, with the most 'helpful' suggestion being 'Well you can just not use the skill and all is well.'

@ZOS_Bill l I'd appreciate if you checked back with the appropriate people if it is now ZOS policy to alter the game in ways to retroactively make cosmetics we purchased unusable and to then clearly state so.

For me this attitude certainly means I will not be spending money on arms packs and most other cosmetics in the future as long as this disaster isn't walked back from.

Not using grim focus on NB is like not using NB at all.
    Great suggestion from ZOS, really.

Keep up annoying your customers but maybe first take a look at steam charts.

Did customer support really suggest you this as a solution to your problem?
(Did you perhaps forget to mention why it bothers gameplaywise additionally to the money you already spend? Not expecting you to simply forget to mentioning your reason but...that answer is just ridiculous.)

This is nothing close to amusing. What the hell is going on?!

I am suprised no refund. I loosely term my NB as a main and although i have not done much content with the character for a while, the red glow has already started to become a bit of a problem for me also and removing the skill is not an option for me. I am also suprised there has been no quick-fix for this one skill.

    Yes.

In support's defence, that particular agent read far more sympathetic than the rest. Might have just been a helpless attempt to suggest... well, anything. And yes, I did mention the problem when not using the skill afterwards.

Still, it's atrocious. And still silence on ZOS' part on their 'no retroactive alteration' part. Even leaving aside the general problem of the permanent glow it just can't be that an entire class is now unable to use cosmetics people paid for.
