Would you prefer events to last until the next event goes live?

Personally I think there should always be something to do in ESO that isn't standard and I would prefer an event to last a whole month.
Just doing this poll to hopefully see if others feel the same, and maybe something could be changed in the future if enough feedback
Have a good day all!

I am already thinking they're too long - a week at most would be best. Event fatigue is real, so is event burnout. Less is definitely more in this case.

Khajiit thinks there should always be events - there is always something to celebrate. Would be delightful if every zone routinely had mini-events and such that rewarded small bonuses or gave fun little quests. They could be tied into the seasons or something like that. Could add more ethnic flavor to the various zones that would be most enjoyable.

Of course, that is predicated on there being no more of these 'your play-style does not match our expectations so we are going to penalize you for it' decisions from dev team. If THAT becomes common, khajiit would rather there be no events whatsoever.

The funny thing about events for me is, they turn me off the game and so I play the game less during them. I know I could simply ignore the event, but I just can't seem to.

I guess I have just done the same old events too many times now, nothing is new except for a new skin here or there and the new 1 style page per 20 hours nonsense.

Lastly, the events are not fun, they are usually just the same old daily events we can do any day of the week with extra rewards. Look at other games, I won't name any, their events are usually FUN. You know, new games and such to play that can only be played at that time of the year....actually FUN to do and play and not a chore.

Meh, I guess other games just spoiled me in the past. :p

I'd prefer have events which feel like events and and not just another grind-of-the-week for warehouse full of meagre rewards. But can't have everything.

There’s only 2 or 3 events that I work my butt off to get as many event boxes as possible and have a chance to get burned out. For the majority of events, I get the 1 or 2 new fragments and then max my tickets out at 12, and then I’m done with the event. I never work on getting the armor appearances or anything like that.

Unless an event has double nodes or easy unlimited loot boxes from like dolmens or harrowstorms (without having to be in a group… looking at you, Zenithar event), i don’t really care about them.

Please no. Unless it's the double dungeon drop one, they can do that year round far as I'm concerned. Because that would counterbalance the other major burnout factor: sticker book. 😋

There is already too many events. I get event burnout. I wish the devs would let us hold more than 12 tickets so we could skip events and still get the yearly rewards. They explicitly don't want that to happen but I'm getting more and more burned out of doing any events and caring about the event loot with each passing year.

I think you underestimate how quickly things become "standard" if you repeat them continuously.

Events (also in RL btw) work best if there is enough time in between them.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

I enjoy events but i dont enjoy the feeling of missing out, when i play something else than the event. So i would get exhausted really hard, if there are constantly some events going on.

And the market could crash btw, since some events boost your sales and gold by a lot.

To add more: If there are constantly events, they are special anymore and wouldnt be exiting at all..

I actually should have chosen the third option.

I think the events should be less frequent, and more special. Different things to do, perhaps more story based, rather than just a repeat of last time and so forth. I'm aware that isn't feasible, however.

As it stands, I've found my participation in events going down with each repeated event. Some of them I don't even bother with anymore, I find them so dull.

If you push people too hard, they will burn out. After all, see the number of complaints there were (from PvPers!) that the second MYM was nowhere near as populated as the first because people were still burnt out from the first, and then that coincided with an even sharper post-event dropoff in players in PvP.

Monthly events are more than enough. We've already almost got half the year in some event or another (if we have an event each month and each is almost two weeks...). More events make them all less special, and it means that people will not have the desire to go in as much.

It's the same argument as "we should always have double [gold/Tel Var/AP/mats/etc.] on! That will get more people in!" No it won't. If it's no longer special, then people don't have the desire to jump in. There is a psychological component to giving people stuff for a limited time versus all the time - it's the reason that JCPenney's idea a few years back to just reduce all the prices and never run sales ended up running them into the ground (there's a case study for any marketing people).

This is the first event I have completed since they were introduced. I wanted the Deadlands Firewalker personality, which I now have. The experience of getting that wasn’t great, however, and I am struggling to see the joy or the appeal of events (but then this is only one of them). It just felt… shallow, a bit contrived, and quite a faff for what amounts for me to be a few new poses!

I’m not sure if I want to do another one anytime soon.

yes if they are anything like the last event where if you were a solo player all you could do was steal and pickpocket for maybe 1 box per hour while other were getting 1 box per minute for the more exciting stuff like world bosses, so to some this last was no event at all really

they definitely need to have some breaks in between events

needing to get tickets and such if that matters to you is an extra daily step, and sometimes its nice to not have to worry about that

definitely agree with others on event fatigue, thats why i do the bare minimum for the events most of the time now, just enough to get tickets usually (as most of the event boxes just fill your inventory with junk outside of the gold box)

Or I would get burnout, if events I actually cared about were on for a prolonged time.

In regard to the current event, due to it being situated in Craglorn and that zone gaining many more instances during the event, this kills the Craglorn PUG group scene. I'm glad it's over. This particular event is an active detriment to an important social part of the game, namely farming arenas and trials without a guild or farming to your own timetable even when you have a trial guild.

A break in-between is nice, a chance to experience other parts of the game that aren't event-grinding.

Truth be told, I think there might be too many Events already. Even if I don't particularly like the rewards you can get from an Event, due to FOMO I still feel compelled to participate and do more than the absolute minimum that's required to get the tickets. So if my playtime is limited, which is often the case after work on weekdays, all I'm doing is repetitive Event related stuff instead of content I like more.

The recent Zenithar event was my second event in ESO and while I enjoyed the anniversary event, this time around I wasn't impressed. The only fun thing for me was pick-pocketing; chasing around looking for chests was a pain and grinding up another level just to get a rather indifferent set of prizes from the gold reward chest just didn't seem worth it.

I did log on this morning to get my 3 tickets so I can get a head start on the indrik I'm working on (but without past event prizes being available I probably would have got 12 tickets and called it a day).
It leaves a rather sour taste when you log in every day and get 4 style pages of which 2 are duplicates, a load of low level food recipes and a couple of low level furnishing plans (most of which I already had).

So no, I don't want more of this. I'd like to see events that are fun to take part in, don't push a particular playstyle and have a bit of thought put into them. I'd happily take fewer events if the quality was improved.

My issue with events is that if I love Orsinium or Elsweyr Event and for some IRL reason I lose it, I then have to wait 2 more years in addition to the 2 years already past from last recurrence. It feels really bad.

I have no solution in terms of schedule/duration but I would like for events to recur more frequently - who knows if we'll be still alive in 4 years XD
On a side note: I get event burnout, it can be harsh. That's why I can't come up with a solution...

The burnout does not get better from how each event gets worse, with more work for less. Low drop rates and daily limits on things, making them impossible to obtain through normal event activties.
