My Kingdom for a faster way to level Antiquities!

I know that we only "need" one character to reach level 10 but many of us "want" to complete this on all our characters.

Think of it this way. What if once we reach Max Undaunted on one character all the rest then lose one of their daily pledges the same way we lost the purple leads with Antiquities? Now it would take longer to raise the skill line, but for what reason?

No reason to level antiquities on more than one toon.

That might be true for you, but it's certainly not true for me. Then again, I'm not asking for anything to make the leveling faster either. I like taking my time, puttering around with it on all my girls.

Tales of Tribute rank raises for all characters on an account regardless of which character is playing. Companions level for all characters on an account regardless of which is playing them. Antiquities already has account bound features so there is a precedent for doing something similar with it.

They could give us a choice whether to max the level or not on our new characters, similar to how we can choose to repeat the ToT tutorial or not. This way those that want to skip the leveling grind can, but those that want to do the skill line individually still can.

After 14 characters I can't bear the thought of another Artaeum extravaganza.

At least before AwA there was the small reprieve of getting skill points for the achievements.

However nice the passive for the chests is the remaining 18 characters will have to do without.

'Keen Eye for Chests' is a perfectly good skill to have on all 18 of my characters and a perfectly good reason to level antiquities on all of them.

Lancers are tied to the alliance of the character who digs it up. If your primary antiquities character is not in the alliance you mostly pvp with, you'll need to level antiquities again at least partially.

Agreed SilverBride! ugh, exhausting! And just to see that glowy chest for me! Green and Blue leads make for really slow grinding.

They could also move Keen Eye: Treasure Chests to a lower level of excavating from 7. I even stopped playing a healer as I was missing having this in dungeons (my purpose for a healer), but too tedious to keep leveling (I stopped at 5).

This would be a good start but those of us who want to reach level 10 on all our characters still have a long tedious grind.

Doing it as we speak for my Arcanist, I am at the point where I feel like gouging my own eyes out. Yeah, it should level faster once you've maxed it once.

Level 10 is not a necessity on all characters. Level 7 for easier to see chests is good, level 9 for the extra visibility range is nicer, but as long as at least 1 character is level 10, you're good. Out of 18 characters, I have 1 at 7, 6 at 9 and 2 at 10 - all of which are my most used characters.

Leads don't have to be scried or dug up straight away, so changing characters mid-session just to dig them up is just wasting time. Wait until you have a few leads collected and simply assign a session to doing them.

I thought so too for a while, but you can only carry one lead of a type at a time. I noticed that the first month after scrying was introduced - I had gotten a gold lead, a little while later a random lesser color, and then a duplicate of the gold lead.

I specifically remembered the first one because I looked at it for detail when I got it, and than within 15 minutes I got the duplicate.

Obviously I only had one copy of the lead in my lead list. If I had let my leads accumulate for days - I'd never have noticed or remembered the 2nd drop as a duplicate of an existing lead. No telling how many duplicates don't register in the list or in people's minds when one drops several days after the first one is still on the list.

The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

I have my main maxed in antiquities and the rest just enough to get the treasure chest glow perk, which while I do wish was a bit of a lower level in the skill line, I remind myself that it could have been worse and require max skill level.

Or that is the intention when I can force myself to spend a bit more time levelling the last few. But with so much fun stuff to do I keep forgetting to do this.

I have 6 characters levelled up to 10, one is on 9 and needs only a couple of leads to make it the rest of the way, 3 more on 7 each and 1 on 6... It's really not been that bad.

Actually one of the most annoying things was getting the characters to level 2 so they could all get Trowel and reliably dig up the purple leads provided that my scrying account does them:, because before that, you can only really dig up green or blue leads, purples are mostly out of reach without at least 1 point in Trowel: once they're at 2, it's really not too bad getting them to 4, where they get Heavy Shovel and can now reliably dig up Master level leads. And those two skill points are the ONLY ones you need to excavate any non-Ultimate leads reliably: all else is gravy.

Sure, sometimes the lead is in an area that the character hasn't been yet. So tag the nearest wayshrine en route, if there's a local sidequest, do it and mark the area "cleared" so you don't have to do it again... The base-game purple furniture leads are ten a penny, I now have SO many Ebony Fox Totems, Ashen Infernace Gates, Greensong Gathering Circles, and so on...

    I agree with the OP.

I personally don't mind switching toons to dig up leads, because I'm doing it anyway to farm Mirri and Bastian reputation... still haven't maxed out any of them because THAT also takes forever if you mostly do group content.

However I love the glowy chest feature, and I really want it on all my characters. I would buy the skill line if I could. It is a nice perk, but I simply don't have time to level Antiquities over and over.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

I level all toons for the keen eye perk, but have only one that has level 10. It's not just the grind (although I hate all skill line grinding with a passion). It's the skill points.

But as much as I hate grinding on the skill lines, nothing quite rises to the level of loathing that I have for level the horse. I *really* hate that, so much even though I have only 4 toons I can't bring myself to roll another one and have to go through leveling the pony one-more-time!

Did you remember to que to Cryodiil at lv10 and do the siege &cet tutorial which gives enough AP to drop a skill point on Continuous Attack passive in Assault skill line? For that Major Gallop which increases mounted speed by 30%.

I like the treasure chest passive on a character that will only ever PvE.

Luckily I had plenty of purple furniture leads on my second character, but it's still loooong.

Moving the treasure chest passive down would be good.
