Fatecarver as an Execute Ability

The skill Fatecarver is currently the N°1 damage source of the Arcanist and by far. On PTS week 1, this skill alone can do around 50% of the overall DPS on a 115k parse.

The design (animation, sound) of Fatecarver is well done, it makes the player feel powerful and everybody loves a good Kamehameha. But spamming it and having to wait for 4-5 seconds to use another skill or light attack makes the rotation a bit dull, it lacks energy. Not to mention the APM rate (actions per minute) that is the lowest amongst all classes because of this.
Could you please consider making this skill an execute ability, making it more relevant during the execution phase ? It would be similar to the templar's beam, which can be used anytime but is only efficient during execute. I believe this would balance the damage sources of the Arcanist and make the rest of the skills more useful.

Thank you for your efforts, this class is really nice and I am sure this year's chapter will be amazing

I think this skill has high damage just to compensate for the lack of light attack in rotations, but the parse damage is still not satisfactory? And I would also agree that the skill had a damage bonus for low life targets... but it would be too similar to templar's execute, I think the devs don't want that... many say that the class will suffer a lot of nerfs, if it is True, the class will have problems...

And have a new mythic, the neck, to remove light attacks, u have tested? Maybe this item is made for Arcanist because of beams i think!?

I think abyssal has a morph that has an execute? At least, its damage scales when the target gets below 50%.

That particular morph is also a crux builder rather than consumer, so you'd fire it off before the beam, theoretically when you're at 2 crux in order to top you off, also potentially immobilizing the target And the abyssal ink effect will further boost Fatecarver's damage.

Yes I have tested the new neck mythic and it works. But 6 classes out of 7 and most DPS sets revolve around light attack weaving, especially Trial sets. That could be an issue for the Arcanist as these sets won't proc often if we use the Fatecarver rotation.

If you want to use Relequen, drop Fatecarver and use Writhing Runeblades. A classic rotation with higher APM and similar damage.

It would be interesting a morph that the arcanist hold the book with the beam in one hand, and give the possibility to use the light attack of the staff in the other hand, but it would be a problem for the other weapons, if there was a way to add the light attacks during the cast... or change the sets to proact with skill, or make ''Tome-Bearer's Inspiration'' and morphs, damage every tick of ''Fatecarver'', but you would be required to have ''Tome-Bearer's Inspiration'' on bar compulsorily, wow, how much confusion... I can't think of a way out, but your idea is good making the ''Fatecarver'' a execute (I don't know if it would have ''collateral consequences'' on others contents like pvp)... even because the skill execute in the class is stamina morph...

Thank you, I didn't know Luca made a video yet. It's nice to see that a classic rotation is viable too. Just like any other parse however, it is full of non-class skills, which is a bit of a shame. But still, it is interesting to have a different view !

Yes, unfortunately. However, I like that the class offers two different approaches to play without losing too much damage. (At this point)

after testing it I dropped it right away no matter the damage, this 4 second gives me vibe of turnbased gameplay

(will easy adopt block as animation/skill canceling after first tick, but damage output will be pointless and most importantly I like to press buttons as much and as faster game allows me  )

Nice for parcial non-class skills, but nice stamina build, but i waiting for "best" parse for maginist using most of class skills!

It does indeed, the stam morph does up to 100% more damage to enemies below 50% health while building crux instead of spending it. I'm fairly certain this would work on a stam build but on a magicka one, you will run out of stam quickly if you spam this in execute. Maybe as a semi-execute ?
