Let companions be account wide after the first.

I think the problem is is that the quest writers went a little overboard with Companion unlock quests. They are far too involved to do all of them on all 18 characters. They aren't go talk to someone yay you have a companion kind of quests, they're quest chains involving lots of dialogue and lots of adventuring which tbh after the first time is a waste of my time. Aint Nobody got time for doing the same quest 18 times.

They should give the option to choose "I've already heard this story" for those who wish to skip it, like they did with the ToT tutorial. This way those who wish to do it again still can.

having to recruit the same companions, again and again, is tedious. once our main unlocks the companions, our alts should be able to summon them without having to do the quest.

I think the start quest for Ember and Bastion are short enough not to bother me, Mirri's was borderline, but Isobel's is just a tedious run around. I do have Mirri and Bastion on all 18 characters but a few still don't have Isobel and Ember.

What is nice about Ember, Mirri, and Bastian is that the quest is self contained. Enter... Quest... Exit with new companion.

Isobel is all over the place, doing three different things, and it is really a pain in the [censored]. The new Argonian in Necrom is the same way. I got tired of running around his quest and logged out. Come Live, I won't be using that companion. I don't generally mind traveling around, but the "go across the map to talk to one person, then go across the map to talk to another person" sort of quests are tedious.

that would be a wonderful alternative to the annoyance we have now

especially with 2 more companions coming out that are going to function exactly the same way

im already looking at having to run each of the new companions quests 10x each, then +6 more for the arcanist i plan on making which will need all 6 companion quests in addition to the normal junk when starting a new character

Either make the companion available account-wide, or streamline the quests if the companion has already been unlocked on another character. I unlock Bastian on all my characters because he's my favorite, and his quest is short and sweet, but I avoid Isobel because her quest is so long. I won't be getting Azandar Al-Cybiades or Sharp-As-Night come Necrom because their quests in the PTS took forever. Which is a real shame, as I was excited for more male companions, because I'm the rare guy who prefers male companions.

Why do all your characters have to unlock all the companions?

because i like to have options, some companions are set up for tank, or dps, or healer, and im not carrying around extra gear to swap their roles

if im running a dungeon with a companion, i die on a boss, i can be like oh i need more heal support instead of a tank, i have the option to switch

the companion is in the collection menu which is where all of your account wide unlocks go, i unlocked the companions with the first character i ran the quest with so i should be able to use the companion with any character after that

but no, i have to re-unlock something i have already unlocked by rerunning the inane quests in order to be able to use what i already have unlocked

im not suggesting that someone should not be able to run the quest on other characters should they so choose, but it should not be a pre-req to use something i have already unlocked

so i run the companion quests on all my toons, i do it "properly" once on my first character, reading the dialog, making the choices to save people if i can

for the 2nd+ time, i frankly do not care and will speed the quest as fast as possible, replaying the same quest over and over is not my idea of fun because the quest itself does not change regardless of which character you are using

example was mirris quest, you can save all of the people for the "happy" ending, but after my first run, i literally sped through this quest, purposely killing all of the hostages because it required far less time to complete the quest, and while it does do different dialog for doing so, it still accomplishes the same result which is being able to use the companion
