DK buff? Why?

Ppl, it is one skill and replaces a skill slot. DK will end up being the same in pvp, as everyone runs serpent already.

I really am more put off by "everyone runs" serpent, Maras, or might as well also run Rallying Cry as they just make it easier and easier to stack without actually grouping.

Either way, we gave 3 classes and 3 sets dominating the game and the niche options fall further behind or flat out are eliminated in case of self synergy Necro

Balance is not just about the actual utilization of all the tools. Is also about the very uneven distribution. I can't believe they would not look at DK and see they don't need it and maybe it's not even practical for them to use it and didn't think "well maybe we should look at these other classes and just leave this be for the moment". That's the irritating part.

The pull with no cost is bigger problem if you ask me.

the issue is that now they can run markyn and still get the same damage and defense (or more if group has major courage) without the drawback of the snare while also getting an increase to their armor because the unique flat damage increase scales much better than a % buff and it also buffs healing.

DK is also going to be extremely mobile with mist form back bar for escaping with projectile block and defensive buffs and chains front bar for gap closer with damage buff that also grants whip stacks, leap for sustain, cap closing, an AoE stun + damage shield, and still get to keep all the utility, pressure and defense from coag, corrosive, vigor, cinder storm, FoO, whip, fossilize, talons and armor buff. There's plenty of flexibility as well for different situations, FoO, mist form or chains can be easily swapped for ele sus, venom claw or breath depending on the situation, standard is a very strong option now with a 20% increase to its synergy damage in this weeks pts notes.

Well, I for one am HAPPY with the buff. I don't PvP. Don't want to. Ever. Thank you for trying to help the PvErs. You could avoid this entire mess by simply splitting the PvE and PvP usages of the skills, ya know.... We know you can do it. Guild Wars 2 did it their first year in and it works really, really well for them. They aren't the only ones. Consider it.

You make a great (and often repeated) point, CyberDiva: splitting PvE and PvP skills (via Battlespirit, say) would create worlds of benefit for both groups. As people have been asking/begging/politely suggesting this for several years, it looks like an elegant solution that's not on the table.

Your right. The most practical way to balance is to separate skill balance for pve and pvp. WoW does it, GW2 does it, etc.

There's no good reason to not do it other then dev resources?

But even from a purely PvE standpoint DKs were the highest performing and objectively didn't need a buff, even a small one.
This dev time should've been used on more pressing issues. And the apparent mismanagement makes people mad.

Yes, It is also a weak balance if a raid group was dominating by one class.

Perhaps the motive for Significantly Overpowering DK is to provide "New and Casual" players with a class where they can be competitive without having to put in the time to learn how to use skills/sets dynamically?

    Seem feasible?

Balance for PVP vs PVE should weight for PVE. Most of the world, most of the content is PVE after all. Splitting it entirely would be ideal but for some reason that doesn't seem to be on the table.

It wouldn’t be ideal solely for the fact that new players spec’d for one or the other would have a horrible time in the opposite form of content, it’s currently rough using a build for PvE in PvP and vice versa, it would be impossible if divided.

Poor DKs. What shred of dignity they had left in PvP has been decisively stripped away.

Now it’s just embarrassing to see someone play the class.

I mean...I hate to say it, but you are 100% right. Its basicly a braindead class now that will just simply rule,...boring af to pvp.
