As the title says. it was actually nerfed when compared to current live server version.



That "dash" in the description basically means You are moving normally while turned for into a cloud for 1 second but instead of old dmg reduction now You get just projectile absorption. You can sprint and dodge while in mist but You can't jump which makes it pretty questionable for kiting actually. Ability also requires double click to activate since it's designed as a wierd version of semi ground AoE.

EDIT: After further investigating I can confirm that this ability indeed have a teleport option however it requires to use it once again while in mist form already which means it will cost the used 2x resources and 2x time to effectively teleport.

Thanks for the clip...I wouldn't say it's totally unlike BoL...but still seems a few steps behind at first glance, and not even close to as good as Streak

I just tested it and the biggest difference between the new Mist Form and Streak is how much slower Mist Form is. Streak and Ball Lightning are truly on the 1s global cooldown while Mist Form has a delay during the travel. Ballpark estimate is Streak is 30-50% faster movement than Mist Form.

I'm sorry but OP is completely wrong here.
Mistform is slightly slower, but in exchange you get much better fine-grained control over your positioning. You also get improved secondary effects.

Mistform is simply a better Ball of Lightning.

Little slower, makes you ignore the damage from 3 projectiles while it's on, and has neat secondary effects. I like it tbh, and the life steal being a lingering effect after Blood Mist ain't that bad. Looks a bit silly, but it is a welcome change imo.

I might still use Elusive Mist, but this does seem like a good compromise between tanking, being elusive, and speed. We'll see how it goes, and the constantly ramping cost like Streak helps keep this power in check.

Looks like streak with a clunky, slower animation. It even has that little "hitch" you get at the end. FWIW, i think arcanist is getting the clone of steak.

I think the change to mist form looks to be good. It is sorc that needs serious buffs, IMHO, buffs to non-pet damage abilities and to shields (maybe the health scaling introduced will be good for tanks but no help otherwise that I could see).

Aside from, presumably, not having a stun, the Arcanist portal looks like Streak 2.0

Mist form is basically 1 second/15 meters 3 projectile absorbing ability. There is no unique mobility improving features in it. You can actually even use streak mid mist form animation.

Tested it on PTS and couldn't get it to work. For me skill have no streak, it just turn hero into the mist and i can move around in mist for 1 second. Maybe skill bugged.

Agreed, but I may use both. That aoe dot is like a second, weaker hurricane+surge combo.

That's the point of Streak, it's unmitigated speed. Certain speed builds already could outrun Streak, but Streak on it's own allows even a non-speed build Sorcerer to very rapidly change positions.

I don't think we'll stop seeing people use Streak, especially for players who care more about the instant nature of the teleport and the ability for it to stun a lot of people in a line.

Edit: Also the change to Mistform means I can't exactly use it to go through a chokepoint being hit by siege weapons as easily... The mitigation is only to projectiles so I imagine ground based AoE attacks and melee are still going to hurt like crazy.

Everybody here is talking about the movement, but it also does an AOE around you causing damage and healing you at the same time. I think its the combo of all these things that could make it really strong. Time will tell.

It's just 3 projectiles in 1 second so You can basically counter just 1 person doing la+some projectile spam, everyone above that will hit You normally. And that is if crushing shock is not considered as 3 projectiles by that ability.

And suprising news, You can also use it on sorc. You can even use streak while still in mist form animation.

The movement is the most important part, the fact that it isn't great is going to kill it for a lot of people. I'm already considering using the aoe dot just for the dot and not the movement.

The only way? Streak mobility is its key feature basically defining sorc playstyle and the main reason why people were freaking out about new mist form. Streak is also the best stun in the game.

Mist and streak are two different abilities and to be honest new mist is completely gutted when compared to its current live version. Streak is all about mobility and control while mist is and still will be about dmg mitigation.

not showing much, the lack of proper representation is worse than showing this.
does it pass over pits like streak does? what if cast at edge of a ledge?

anyway it looks very bad. Slower than sprinting with 180, slower than gap closers. What happens if a dk leaps on u while u "dash" ? since it's not giving cc immunity. What if u get pulled during it?

looks like "sprint with magicka but at full speed", would still rather pick race ag time cuz no ramping cost and also gives immobilisation immunity

I don’t know about this one. Taking away the mitigation and snare immunity for a gap closer I think is a bad change. Everyone’s gonna get pigeon hold into using race against time. Now you have to have the psijic skill line.
