When was the last time anything new came to ESO that YOU actually wanted or was excited for?

Explain what it was, if anything has ever been released that you wanted or liked.

Last time for me was probably when craglorn was released, then shortly after they ruined the entire game for me by scrapping the sub model.
I didn't like the idea of having to be in a group to do content but I liked the idea of end game content.

I was genuinely looking forward to vvardenfell, but when it released finding out that most of the zone is just useless, the cantons of vivec serve no purpose at all, cannot explore red mountain at all, could not go in the prison from morrowind (large boulder at end of the questline that vivec stops in the sky)
Not even a house I can buy in balmora.
Quite lacklusterm for me tbh.

There is noting of note in high isle at all, well except the card game.

Now that you ask.... I actually don't think they've ever released something I really wanted....

My favorite year was the Elsweyr year. The reveal was less scripted and longer too. I remember being so excited about everything--Khajiit zone, furstocks, new class, character slots, dragons, free house, etc.

I always enjoy exploring the new zones and stories. As far as the other features, I liked the additions of the antiquities and companions systems as well as their updates. The stickerbook was nice for inventory management.

I didn't care about some of the later things like the armory system, and I still haven't tried ToT. I hated the implementation of AWA.

I liked the card game, it's nice, relaxing, and a good change of pace. Also, the overall story was a good change of pace from the usual "must stop super duper evil baddie who wants to conquer all of Tamriel because dragon or daedric prince".

Card game is OK I suppose, it's kind of relaxing and I find it quite simple so i can play it while drunk too.
As for the story, well I skip all dialogue, i genuinely do not know or remember what the store was. normally I get the gist but I just cannot remember it.

I was happy when they released companions in Blackwood. It was a big part of the reason I returned.

I dislike companions with a passion.
If they could mule items like they can in skyrim, then they would be my best buddy but as it is now, I am stuck with them just to get the achievements, I have only managed to max 1 of them, got 3 left and will have another 2 in the summer.

So far, I liked the Daedric War Arc most (Morrowind, CWC, Summerset). I had hopes in Greymoor because of vampirism. Now I'm curious if they'll manage to write a truly Lovecraftian story this year. I'm really sceptical of the quality though. I'll wait and see.

I enjoy their banter and it allows me to mess around with tank builds in solo play as long as they are built for DPS. Plus, in some areas I can just afk while my bear and companion slaughters everything because that is just funny to me. I enjoy watching AI vs AI fights.

ignoiring the content like trials etc these are the big ticket items i've been either excited or hella impressed with.

    one tamrial
    housing
    jewellery crafting
    transmutation / set collection system
    mythics
    hybridization

all in all that's not a bad track record.

It was today, about eight and a half hours ago.

I will say that the Greymoor chapter really pulled me back into the game. I am a massive werewolf/vampire fan. They hooked me good, and seeing Fennorian and Verandis and the quests involved just clinched it for me.

I wasn't super excited for Blackwood, but I was for High Isle, and I was happy with the latter save for the massive number of bugs, missing textures, etc, and the combat changes that hideously followed.

Still love the zone, and Galen. Beautifully realized when you ignore druids with missing chest textures ;)

But this I am super excited for. New class, new companions, and a wild new realm that's unlike anything I've been in.

I get why folks are irritated about a new class vs new skills - having to grind up again and go through the same content again. But I kind of want that blank slates (thanks for the free character slot) to give them their own story and find out what they're capable at at every level.

I always look forward to new stories and content to explore. I like running new dungeons and trials so I look forward to each release that includes trials and dungeons.
I wasn't one of the multitudes asking for companions but I am taking full advantage of them being added and am glad they are in the game.
Transmutation I think was a great improvement for the game. I was iffy on the sticker book but tons of players really like it. I've not been happy with some of the changes and a few I think hurt the game but overall we have a much better game than we had in 2014-15.

I was truly excited for battlegrounds, it’s a shame how they’ve been handled. Other than that, I enjoyed the addition of item transmutation and the sticker book, but I wasn’t excited, it was more of a “wow that’ll make things more convenient.”

I get excited for new dungeons and trials. Been even more jazzed with the addition of secret bosses and hard modes per boss, which is more content but also more options in the content.

I am also excited for the new class.

I was excited for jewelcrafting, transmutation, and sticker book.

Antiquities, companions, and the card game did not get me excited although I do like the variety some of the mythics bring to builds. And in the end, I got some enjoyment out of all those systems.

AwA and the vampire re-work were gut punches, where the game was made significantly worse for me than if they had left well enough alone. To me, what's worse than not being excited is having something you love about the game ruined.

I'm cool with anything other folks like even if it's not up my alley... as long as I can keep enjoying what I do like!
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Summerset was last chapter and Murkmire was the last dlc I cared about. Even Markarth had a new solo arena, even if it was uninspired it was a good effort.

After necro I've realised that new classes probably won't be as good as base game ones period so I'd be more focused on skill lines and weapons for existing ones but seems like some other year. Or maybe never lol.

What do you mean not as good? Necro is one of the strongest DD classes in the game. Warden is one of the strongest healing classes in the game.

One Tamriel and Morrowind (somewhat because of nostalgia).
Only feature till now in this game I was excited about without nostalgia factor is One Tamriel.
I think actual top 5 MMOs RN does much much better when it comes to long-term support.
Elder Kings II is a Role Playing Elder Scrolls mod for Crusader Kings III.

Upcoming: free character slot. Don't mind that at all.

I am a little sad wood elves are, yet again, not getting any story, but I really love the mad knowledge sekrit Daedra, so I'm not too disappointed with the next chapter.

I really liked the idea of companions. Then new companions. [I'm 52. I don't get "excited" about games any more. I've been gaming for 30+ odd years, since Space Invaders was a baby. Too burned by fake hype to get "excited" over a game ever again. Thanks EA. ;) ].
