they're not the only ones who use it.

That's precisely the point. I use it on my magcro. As my only non-ult CC even. I'd prefer that not be changed.

I'm as happy as anyone to see wardens become more competitive. I don't believe that their success relies on wall of frost. Gripping shards serves a similar purpose but is much less annoying because it only roots upon cast. As for all the buffs wardens have gotten recently, they can keep all of them for all I care. I doubt their effectiveness will be seriously impacted if wall of frost only roots upon cast.

My necro healer uses it too. But since it's become so ubiquitous I don't play on that character because I don't want to be a part of the problem.

In my opinion, calling for nerfs over what I consider is a short sighted issue is being part of the problem. Frost Magden is the flavor of the patch right now, but something else will come along. Something else will be buffed. And there will be fewer frost Magdens. And then fewer walls. That will happen whether it's nerfed or not. So the FotM will change but the nerf will stick, if you get your way.

Yep adjustments are always gonna happen no matter what. This is an adjustment that I would like to see. I am not of the mind that nerf always = bad. Your idea of making it root upon cast is perfect.. and it would probably make it even more useful for PVE.

Personally I don't find proving feedback based on experience is being part of any problem. You and I have a difference of opinion on this, but the fact that we are both providing feedback of any kind is a good thing.

This constant nerf/buff cycle is exhausting and is a large part, in my opinion, of why pvp is suffering from a lack of players (besides performance of course.) So yes, it's problematic to feed into this cycle for this minor issue you have.

That cycle is going to happen regardless. We both know this. Should we just never have any opinions on combat balance at all?

On the contrary. I will fight to be sure yours isn't the only opinion Zos reads. And then maybe this nerf/buff/nerf cycle can claim one fewer casualty.

I'll add that one change I could get behind, and I'd prefer this before any nerf to Wall of Frost (including immobilizing chilled enemies on cast only) is to extend the root immunity that skills such as RaT provide to 6 seconds. I'd prefer the snare immunity to remain 4 seconds though since I think speed builds are difficult to counter as it is now.

I anticipated this happening with the clear and obvious buffs coming to wardens. Normally in almost every kit, I run some sort of snare immunity whether it's shuffle or forward momentum, or otherwise.

The amount of ccs happening, soft or hard is really due to a lack of balance. The lack of balance is magnified in no cp environments such as bgs.

Snare immunities and snow treaders do take the edge off, but BOY is the balance in this game messed up right now.

Snare immunities do not work in Cyrodiil prime time. Can fill a novel with insurances I cast RAT and still snared or immediately resnared.
Mythics are simply p2w. I don't have content post morrowind because I refuse to give a company my money for broken products.

    Please try again sir.

Not gonna lie, I legit posted and never came back as the OP was talking about Battlegrounds and not Cyrodiil.

One snare immunity I like using is Shuffle as you gain 5 seconds, minimum of immunity and a maximum of 7 (if you're in 7 medium). Perhaps instead of using an ability with a 1 second immunity, you can explore other options. Another one being forward momentum. The two options listed do not require any DLC.

    "Please try again sir."

RAT gives 4 seconds of immunity.

Does it now? I've always assumed 1 second.

Well it was recently buffed to 4 seconds but prior to that it was 2 seconds. So your weren't terribly far off at least.

I wouldn't mind if they dropped the chilled requirement completely. If they made it "immobilizes all enemies hit upon cast" I'd be all g with that. 6 seconds of immunity is a good suggestion too. Any attempt to address CC in BGs will be a good thing.

i've never been so frustrated in pvp as i was yesterday. not that i'm already at a significant disadvantage with my mag sorc, but now the frost warden meta has completely broken through on ravenwatch. at least 30% of the opponents are now using a warden. with one skill a whole class / or whole skill lines are taken out of the game, cristallized slap really gives me the rest as a sorc and i don't even have the possibility to do something against it. the best counter is still not to attack the class at all, that's not really how i imagine pvp.

Agree totally with the OP. Anybody that spends just a few minutes in battlegrounds can see how ridiculous the frost thing is. It cracks me up how they nerf the daylights out of the most innocuous things and then they are completely fine with supremely annoying and broken [snip]
