Bought the Imperial Edition Digital Download... can't log in. (SOLVED)

Error 103: Your account permissions do not currently entitle you to access this server.

So, you're telling me I bought the Imperial Edition and was promised 5 days of early access... and I'm not going to be getting what I spent good money on? I'm sorry, but that is completely unacceptable. I have already submitted a ticket (140330-029903). The purchase that I have made is not in my billing history, and yet, the money is now out of my bank account via PayPal. I even have an order number. What I don't have was the game I purchased in good faith.

I want what I paid for. I want what was advertised, and what was promised to me when I made my purchase. Providing a product that a customer has paid for and not delivering it - not even just failing to deliver it as advertised, but failing to deliver it at all - is about the worst thing a business can do to a paying customer.

I'm sorry, but whether or not I will be playing this game - and therefore, whether or not I'll be subscribing or likely even having one positive word to say about it at all - hinges on how this issue is resolved. Do not tell me that you just took $79.99 of my hard-earned money and I will be getting nothing in return for it.

They say that error covers high volume too, tho I'm not sure I believe that.

Cut and paste from my respoce to your same issue...

    Hi,
thank you for writing at The Elder Scrolls Online Team
If you receive the error 103 code, I recommend waiting for a period of 10 minutes and then attempting to login again. This error can occur in moments of extraordinarily high login volumes.
In addition, this error code may occur when the server is down for maintenance, or if you are trying to login during an Early Access period to which you are not entitled to. For example, if you pre-ordered the Standard Edition, you will not be able to access the game during the exclusive Imperial 5-days Early Access period.
You can check to see whether there is currently an outage on our Service Alerts page.
If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to contact me

Tried it again. Same error. My billing history does not reflect the fact that I bought the Imperial Edition Digital Download Version, but my bank account balance sure does.
  • puddlejumper
Ok, I just saw a fix in another thread, it worked for me.

Go to the game file, go under 'properties' and check 'run program as administrator'.

No. That didn't fix it. I tried that already, and for good measure I just tried it again. Nothing. It is saying that I didn't buy the Imperial Edition, when it is demonstrably true that I did. I have the order confirmation email, and I'm down $79.99 from my bank account.

    Hey Laplace,

I have the exact same issue as you.

Purchased the imperial digital edition from the Elder Scrolls online store, got a confirmation email, checked that my credit card account has been charged the $79.99.

But like you, my account status only shows "Beta Account", and my billing history under the account section of the site doesn't reflect my purchase.

I'm unable to log in after purchasing the Digital Imperial Edition off the ESO website. My account status says "beta access" and I'm unable to log in. I have a confirmation email that I purchased the game and it posted to my banking account.

@scottius_ESO , I have the same problem, I'm already trying to resolve this issue with ZOS supporters, I will tell you what to do when we solve this problem.

@CoUsT‌ Thanks. I submitted a ticket, but I imagine it will take a while to get a call. My friend is here with me and also has the same issue.

Hey there, everyone. If you're receiving error 103, be sure to use your User ID and not your email address to log in -- you can verify that you're using the correct credentials by logging into our account page.

If you're still seeing this error, we're currently investigating an issue causing a delay between a payment being made and the associated game account being activated. If you purchased the Imperial Edition of ESO, or the digital Standard Edition of ESO from our website, you should have access to the game. We'll provide an update as soon as we can. Thank you all for your patience.

@scottius_ESO, @Laplace, I poked ZOS_GinaBruno from ZOS Support via PM on forum, I also tried to get attention and someone increased priority on my ticket (however still nothing changed). Currently ZOS_GinaBruno is fighting with this strange issue and I will tell you everything ASAP after we fix it...

First I though it only happened to me. But now I see it's a big problem. It's good to hear, it will get fixed faster. But also sad it happened for other people :(

EDIT: Oh, the problem is now known! Can't wait for fix! I want to play. :P

@ZOS_JasonL‌ Yes, lots of people are having an issue wherein they purchased the game, but it is not being reflected on their account status. For me, it's been 2 hours since purchase.

I've been using my UserID. Nothing. I bought the Imperial Edition today (from the official Elder Scrolls Online wbesite; i.e. this website), and I haven't been able to log in once because of this issue.

I feel really badly for anyone who is buying this game right now, and this is their first experience with this game. We are losing precious gametime because of this. Gametime that we paid for.

I apologize for my tone, but this is extremely frustrating, not to mention disappointing.

@ZOS_JasonL‌ My wife and I are having this issue as well. Is there any ETA to when it might be fixed and we can play the game we paid for? :(

I'm hoping for some kind of update or ETA as well. Please.

I'll be considerably less frustrated if those of us unable to log in are compensated in some way for the lost game time, but unfortunately I doubt that will happen. :(

This is probably the worst possible thing that can go wrong at launch: People buying the game and the servers not even acknowledging that a purchase was made.

This is definitely the issue I am having. Could some sort of ballpark ETA please be provided?

Same issue here. Purchased the game but it doesn't show as such on my account page. Shows Beta Access only.

I have received a confirmation of payment email from ESO, but nothing further with access codes as some folks have mentioned. :(

Similar issue here, but oddly now its telling me my password isn't right. Funny, it works here. I have been fighting with the client issue all day. I have placed a request for a call, to no avail. I'm glad I didn't purchase it a month ago, because if I had I'd be super pissed off right now. What really sucks is that this is my only day to get to play for any length of time, if at all. I am sure a lot of people are in the same boat. If it wasn't working, they should have held the release date.

When it was a beta, I expected problems. It's not in beta anymore.

So, ESO - how are you going to make up for our lost time?
  • misslilamaeub17_ESO

Im having the same problem, i got a call back and was told i would get another call back in 20 mins to let me know how they were going to solve the issue but i have now been waiting over 6 hours for that second call back.

come on ESO i want what i paid for :(

The same issue here. I got an immediate email saying my purchase had gone through.

Customer support responded to tell me it could take a while to post to my account. It didn't take more than 30 seconds for my credit card to get charged which means something on their end is broken.

Seconding the request for an ETA.

Same problem here. Pre-ordered the Imperial edition and got charged from my bank, but my account still only says beta access and no proof under billing history.... yeah, wish I could be playing the game I pre-ordered and paid $80 for to play on Sunday... all day... Great...
  • scottius_ESO
ETA would be lovely. It's been 4 hours since purchase.
