Idk about now after the patch changes, but in my opinion Unhallowed Grave is not overly long or overly hard. Moonhunter Keep can be tough with a group who isn't good enough, but who is to say you wouldn't have had that great group in ANY of those dungeons that popped? You might have had just as quick of an experience finishing Unhallowed Grave with you first group as opposed to queuing up 7 different times for an 8 minute clear... And Falkreath in particular is super fast with a group that's done it before.

I do hear that crystals are a reward for Tales of Tribute now...
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

That would be convincing if you didn't waste the equivalent of 2 hrs from the penalty from leaving all those dungeons one after the other not including the time you spent in the queue in between those penalty's.

This is not untrue. A check would be welcomed.

And sorry If I sounded overly terse.

But be aware that the time required doing the longuest dungeon is less that the time required for the shortest + queue penalty.

So, you might as well stay, at least as a courtesy for those poor DDs that queues for very long. It won't cost you a second, in the end.

Witchmother's Potent Brew (Increase Max Magicka by 2856, Max Health by 3094, and Magicka Recovery by 315 for 2 hours.
    • Trash Potions when feeling cheap: Regular CP150 Essence of Magicka pots that I obtain frequently from playing the game or Crown Tri-Restoration Potion obtained from dailies.
    • Crafted Potions: Essence of Spell Critical (Bugloss, Lady's Smock, and Water Hyacinth). Without magelight this is my primary means of obtaining Major Prophecy on my Sorc, which increases my Spell Critical Rating. This also heals and restores magicka. Essence of Immovability (Columbine, Corn Flower, and Wormwood). I use this in PvP, since this gives me stealth detection, knockback immunity, and restores magicka (better to use it when competent allies are nearby, since it might reveal that you are surrounded by multiple players in stealth and you will not have an emergency pot available after use). Essence of Invisibility with only 2 ingredients (Blue Entoloma, Namira's Rot, Nirnroot, or Spider Egg). I use this in PvE content that requires stealth and if I need more speed I'll use Rapid Maneuver before using the potion. Essence of Invisibility with 3 ingredients (Blessed Thistle, Blue Entoloma, and Namira's Rot). Very useful in PvP alongside the vampire Dark Stalker passive, since you'll be invisible, ignore movement speed penalty while in Crouch, and you'll have a 30% movement speed boost from Major Expedition (I always have this slotted when riding from point A to B in PvP land, since gankers are always lurking). My templar/arcanist will mostly use Essence of Health (Tri-Stat Potion) Ingredients: (Mountain Flower, Columbine, and Bugloss).

There should be an aggravated penalty for those who have this kind of behavior.

My last random daily dungeon with a PUG:
Queued as DD. Load screen shows Unhallowed Grave, fine by me.
The fake tank instantly quits the dungeon. After the 1st mob the fake healer also decides to quit the dungeon.
So, 2 DDs completed the dungeon (we queued for another members just to make the run quicker but didn't get any till the end). So, the run lasted much longer than it needed to be just because 2 clowns needed to get 10 lousy crystals quickly.

Are you doing normals or vets? Because if you run a single random normal every day (or more if you have multiple toons) I hear that's actually the most efficient way to earn crystals. More efficient than jumping into PvP and doing your Tier 1's in Cyrodiil, which is my preferred method because I enjoy both PvP and PvE. On normal even the longest DLC is not very long (again, at least this was the case pre U35).

I don't agree with you, though, that the core problem is DLC dungeons. The core problem is that people are forgetting that before crystals, the alternative was to farm and farm and farm for that correct piece or trait. The intent with adding the transmutes is so that we had another option. ANY of the ways to farm crystals in the game is faster than farming for a drop if you have bad RNG. The expectation that some people have that DLC dungeons are unfair when they pop is really flawed. The whole point of the random queue is to feed people into the queue to help others finish a dungeon, and the carrot is the crystals. The point is NOT to give us a super fast way to get the crystals. In fact I personally am a fan of removing or significantly reducing the reward if they ever do give an option to bypass DLCs. I also think they should put all except the newest DLCs in the random queue even for non-subscribers. But anyway..

Setting aside the fact that of what others pointed out about the time you spent taking the penalty by leaving your groups, I'm going to just say that I don't have a lot of time either. Do you know what I do when I don't have time to run whatever dungeon pops up? I accept the fact that I won't be earning crystals during this play session and spend my in-game time on an activity that won't result in me letting others down due to my lack of time.

For crystals specifically if I'm short on time, I do random normals or work on my Cryo T1's because in the larger scale PvP it doesn't make or break the fight as much if I have to leave early and come back later.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

This should result in an account ban in my opinion. You are telling us you left 7 groups because you didn't like the 'random' you got. That means you victimized 21 people in a matter of minutes, and do not deserve the crystal rewards you got for the 8th dungeon.

If you do not have time for a full dungeon, do not queue for a random dungeon. As a tank I always make sure I have atleast an hour to complete a dungeon.

ZOS should make it so that you can only queue for a random once per day, per character. If you fail for any reason, tough luck. I don't get why players are so after crystals anyways, unless you respec like every day, you don't need that many.

PS: And I do think we need a no-DLC random queue with a lesser crystal reward(5), but that is no justification for such behaviour.

PS: And I do think we need a no-DLC random queue with a lesser crystal reward(5), but that is no justification for such behaviour.

I think all normal dungeons sharing a queue as 'random' should have been adjusted over time to be reasonably similar for average completion time with an average group.

Having something like FG1 in the same queue as some of the DLC dungeons, all with the same reward, is just poor design.

I don't mind a few minutes difference or a slight change in difficulty between what pops, the variance we see today is just absurd - and I doubt I'm an outlier here, but I'm NOT queueing for randoms with the expectation to set aside an hour - that is silly for daily normal dungeon content

And no, I'm not saying make them all like FG1 - I'm saying putting FG1 which can be done in a few minutes top with no chance of failure in a random queue with the same rewards as stuff that takes 30+ and or has a reasonable chance of failure is really poor game design.

The solution however is not to further alienate and penalize players as your suggestions would do (and would result in far fewer players bothering to queue random), but rather for ZOS to put some resource time into addressing the issue they themselves created and find solutions (multiple queues, different rewards, include / exclude queue options, etc).

EDIT TO ADD: I don't like the OPs behavior as it negatively impacts others, but I also see the issue - my solution has been to queue with or on lowbies for crystals and / or with friends on lowbies and / or not ESO+ members - which doesn't directly affect those that queued into a dungeon with a quitter, but does affect queue times for those wanting to run DLC as I am not in that queue.

This. It is trivial to get to tier 1 on all your toons on 30 day campaigns every month, and top off on transmutes. 50 per toon, easy peasy. Unless you burn through 1,000 or so stones per month (which, why - if you do that is your root facepalm) then you within a couple of months have more than you need.

And you don’t have to be obnoxious to strangers that way.

An hour of repairing walls/taking resources, 50 transmutes.

Or 5 days of being obnoxious for half an hour to an hour to get to the 10 minute dungeon.

I mean the choice is yours and it is your karma.

Entitlement aside, what world are you living in where Fang Lair, with its multiple instances of waiting for NPCs to shut up or open doors, is short but Cradle of Shadows is too long? You can straight up pug a vet speedrun of CoS, it's got very little that throttles you from chain pulling outside of doors (which FL also has) and multiple bosses are actually made easier with movement speed effects to counter their mechanics. Like I understand that's not the point but this is an absolutely BAFFLING take my guy.

I don't think the others listed are egregiously long either; Lair of Maarselok, Frostvault, Mazzatun, just any of the ones that have big 'sit around and wait for enemies to show up' sections would be the ones I would highlight if I was gonna complain about dungeons that are designed to waste time.

people who feel like every dungeon run in <10 min are the reason why i dislike doing random normals outside of a full group of friends lol

if i want to work on dungeon gear ill queue up specifically for dungeons in which i need gear from, which at this point is ONLY dlc dungeons

if i want transmutes i usually just go to cyro lol

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (in progress being filled out), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

feel free to stop by and use the facilities

If you want to avoid dlc's ask in guild/zone if any <lvl45 player would like to queue with you. Also, if you have a dps character and you can do decent damage, always queue for the random with them--the queue might be longer, but at least whichever dungeon you get, you can be in charge of the damage, and hopefully it won't take long.

Best way now is to play Tales of Tribute against NPC's, it's a lot quicker. Over in two minutes most of the time.
