I don't like this design, if I understand it correctly

I'm told in two different zones, there are identical red portals, which enter to the same content - but with the game giving you no notice, if you enter from one zone motifs can drop and if you enter the other, they don't. That is ridiculous.

I understand what you're saying, however this is an easy fix. Just enter the portals from the Deadlands and it's problem solved.

i agree i dont think that part was well thought out with the atoll of immolation

those portals in blackwood used to be called "deadlands" before the actual deadlands zone furthering the confusion lol

they should either go to the same instance and have merged drops, or be labeled entirely differently like "atoll of immolation (deadlands)" or "atoll of immolation (blackwood)"

Think of it this way; they are the zone's Wirld Events aka Insurgents. Just like both elsweyr zones have dragons, but instead these are portals to the Atoll. Blackwood has its specific word events as the Deadlands has theirs. The BW ones drop loot from the BW table, because that's the zone they are found in, and vice versa.

It then makes sense that only the ones from the deadlands drop deadlands-specific items, but I agree with the above in that having a note saying which zone's portal you are in would be a big help.

If you are unsure, you can check Achievement or Outfit Style descriptions for clues.

I have noticed while questing in the Deadlands that it is common to get two minute load screens, which I get nowhere else when I'm traveling in between locations in a single area. I have wondered if it is the portals that cause this.

I do find the whole thing kind of confusing.

They could have at least thought of different names for the 2. "Atoll of Immolation" is actually a Great name, but they could have called the other one "Oasis of Suffering" or something. Isle of Flame? At least something to separate them.

Shor's Blood, even the boss at the end is the exact same. At least think of a different boss. There's like, 20 different Species of Daedra in ESO, we can have some variety.

atoll of immolation is actually considered "public dungeon" in terms of the loot drops it has for gear

the "dolmen" events only drop jewelry (dragons only drop jewelry, abyssal geysers only drop jewelry, etc)
