Just an opinion: Imperial City/Cyrodiil PvE

    As a primarily pve player here is my thoughts about cyrodiil;

    I have been playing since beta, and I was lucky enough to play in cyrodiil when each faction would just dominate one of the battle grounds, effectively making it a pve zone.

    I had a chance to fully explore cyrodiil as a pve environment (essentially). Now I can fully understand someone who had not experienced this to want to experience it for themselves. And there are some wonderful little comical moments with npcs there.
    (The three women and the man on a hill top, just west of bleaker’s keep is very memorable.)

    There is one thing I must say about actually questing in cyrodiil. It is really dull.
    The questing all feel like old WoW fetch and kill quests or, bring this message to the opposite side of zone quest lead. There are few if any quests of actual note. There is little need to go out of your way to do ANY of them.

    If you get a chance, and you find a cyrodiil that looks mostly quiet. Go ahead and explore, talk to some npcs, ride around and admire some of the really beautiful scenery there. It’s ok if you avoid quest areas that may be controlled by another faction, or just busy. The quests there can be skipped and you won’t miss much.

    That's actually one of the reasons why I love Cyrodiil so much. It's not packed full of quests, quest markers and NPCs bothering you to do their quest every 100 ft.

    And there's so much to explore. I do wish some of the locales were a little more fleshed out but it's still very satisfying. I love that a lot of the places you find have their own little stories and it's not tied in any way to quests but just to lore. Chorrol for instance, or that weird NPC necromancer having a party with corpses he propped up in chairs.

    Addendum:

    Memorable moments;
    Traveling between the eastern EP areas and Dragonclaw (edit: I mean drakelowe, sorry) along the River is very pleasant. As is riding along the southern edge of the river between the EP and AD areas.
    There is a small (no quests) hamlet near the center imperial city along the western edge. I believe it is quite close to the old sewer entrance for the DC. There is some villagers there with some dialogues that I found amusing.
    On the eastern side of the map, you will find a giant sink hole (crater) it can be seen on the area map although it has no corresponding icon. Go and jump down into it!

    I forgot about that necromancer! He is very memorable. Nice one!

    Pvp doesn't get a lot in this game. If killing me a few times on my way to turn in a quest makes them happy, they deserve a moment of joy tbh. I sincerely hope the next big chapter reveals something amazing for pvp because they need MORE.

    I think I missed that sink hole/crater? Where exactly is it?

    Just let them have their PvP fun. They deserve to have an event tailored to them. Just do what I do. I do my daily routine writs and stuff, ignore this event, and wait for the next one. Plenty of other stuff to do whether in this game or another.

    Between Drake and Sej, it looks like an [snip] in the map.

    The intent of this event is to feed the PvP players those who are easy targets so they can make up for PvP unhappiness otherwise.

    It has been this way for a long time and too many just seem to get their thrills from killing questers. How much fun can we have?!?!?

    An event to only feed the PvPers?! I've run across PvErs who are just as bloodthirsty as PvPers in this event tbh. Especially, when soloing; its been about 50/50 as to whether it's a PvPer or PvEr who will confront me. I also grouped with a PvEr to help him with his quest, and he seemed to get a good thrill out of the combat when confronted; even yelling "WE KILL" as we won the fight in the end. This narrative that PvErs are completely at the mercy of only PvPers is false. The awesome PvErs who adjust and embrace the event can be just as ferocious as any PvPer. So be careful of who you are accusing of targeting you. Being a PvEr doesn't automatically make a player friendly, nor is it only PvPers that you're feeding...

    Again, if you don't like the content, skip it. It's fantastic to see other communities dipping their toes into PvP and getting a thrill out of it, which is precisely what these events are for.

    Ok I think I maybe did see that. It's rather small on the map. I'm at work and the online maps so far aren't showing it but I think I know where that is.
