PTS Patch Notes 8.1.2 incomplete?

I've read the patch notes for 8.1.2. twice over now and it appears to be missing the segment where zos puts "reverted the templar jabs damage nerf to previous levels"
surely this has to be an oversight, there is literally no good reason for jabs to still be buggered over sideways and zos is not this toughtless, right?

Jabs was over the top compared to other spammables.

It also carried the rest of the class however, so them just being cool with Templars is a bit... strange.

I'm honestly impressed by how many pain points were reversed. There are still several things that need attention (like Warden skills), but IMO the jabs change is an improvement over the old animation with it's incorrect duration.

Warden Shalks timing changes still need to be reverted as well.

Nobody wants or wanted these changes - they must be banished back to Oblivion.

I'm surprised, having read the PTS Patch Notes. I was expecting something a bit more impactful. At this point, surely it would be easier for them to just revert all the ability changes, release the two dungeons, and start again for next update with a better handle on how to approach the "issue" of the skill gap.

Do a couple (or a few) smaller two-week PTS cycles to test various things like balancing light attack damage, balancing heavy attack damage, extend durations on buffs and debuffs, extend durations on AoEs/DoTs, and, in general, get feedback. To be perfectly honest, Alec's/Gilliam's 80 hours of parsing is almost nothing in the grand scheme of things. In the first week of PTS, I did 30 hours on just one class (DK), and I'm not even a DD main. It would be much more efficient to get dozens of players of all skill levels to do parses or play content and derive feedback from that, as you would get much more than 80 man-hours out of it with a lot more data to filter through.

I was laughing to hard at the +44% dmg buff to Bound Armaments.
    What is even going on.

Surprised to see how few static DOTs there are, though:

    Ash Cloud
    Boneyard
    Twisting Path
    Lightning Splash
    Blazing Spear
    Impaling Shards
    Volley
    Wall of Elements
    Stampede
    Necrotic Orb
    Caltrops

Seems these will be the only DOTs worth running. Class DOT, backbar weapon DOT and Orb.

Vivec: Worse, buddy. They're buying it.

"Trust us, see the changes before you say you hate them"
    *releases absolutely bad changes*
"Hey, we tried them and hate them..... just like we thought"
"Ok, well trust us-- we will listen to your feedback and make changes on week 3!"
    Week 3: this.

Ok, well, I'm not surprised. I am a little disappointed in myself, because for some reason I expected better.

The Warden changes (or lack thereof) are incredibly disappointing. I can't see myself wanting to play the class next patch if I have to relearn years worth of muscle memory with regards to the timing on shalks. I can pretty much deal with any damage nerfs if the class feel doesn't change, which unfortunately it has.

33% damage reduction to Ele Wall explosion. They just killed the universal trash pack clearing skill. Nobody will give up a slot for Pulsar.

Having an instant stun on Arctic Blast FINALLY, but having a 4 second delay on Scorch just feels like trolling at this point.

I expected a passive change rather than an ability change. Jabs are now inferior to Rapid Strikes largely, because Burning Light procs with any damage dealt, not only with class abilities ( which would be a bit more logical )

On the other hand, there are people who are excited about this change, and those are... werewolves.
Who for a long time dreamed of a wolf-templar against vamp-blades.

Eventually, the ground dot changes were rolled back, which is good news.
It gives hope that the remaining questionable changes of U35 will be carefully weighed and reviewed before they will come to Live.

Surprise Attack is new jabs, damage-wise.
Now they need to add stun to jabs and we go full circle.

I don't think they ever intended for players to use this skill as a spammable.

I'm pretty sure that this is the increment based on 8.1.0.
    That would mean:
    8.1.0:
Reduced the damage per hit of this ability by approximately 38%.
This ability no longer passively increases your Light Attack damage.
    8.1.2:
Bound Armaments (morph): Increased the damage of this ability by approximately 44% per hit.

Which in sum compared to live should be:
Reduced the damage per hit of this ability by approximately 10%. (x*0.62*1.44 ~= 0.9x)
This ability no longer passively increases your Light Attack damage.

They didn't intend people to use dual weapon system the way it's been done for years either. I would welcome the change if we could have an AoE and single target bar instead of a fighting front bar and buffing back bar.

I like the adjustments (ie week 3 better than week 1) but week 3 still fails to make the game more accessible compared to live.

Content will still be more difficult due to lower dps with no enemy HP or dps check changes.

We can safely assume that anything fun in ESO is unintended and will be addressed at some point to better align with the other numbers on their Excel table.

the animation is fine. the massive damage nerf and the nerf to burning light is waaaay too heavy handed. it was an absolute brutal DPS loss. Does jabs carry the class? sure... does it put the class ahead of other DPS? Nope. You just build around jabs and you're just on par with other classes. Jabs is just an absolute fun ability to use. IMO nerfing jabs puts the class slightly behind others now. And the burning light nerf drastically hurts the class identity.

No the new jabs animation is not fine... when doing a rotation little nooble spears shoot off in every direction while LA weaving. The animation isn't finished or polished... much prefer the old one.

Agreed, this is patch is going to make templars lose their class identity. This shouldn't happen, they need to buff it back.

Oh, don´t worry, you can just use a lightning staff, and... wait, they nerfed that to the ground as well, never mind.

Ikr? That's a 6% damage increase beyond the nerf 2 weeks ago. I think the dev team is a bit lost.
