Curious what you think about one of the new PvP sets since you think this patch is so great:

    Nocturnal’s Ploy – Medium
    2 – Adds 1487 Offensive Penetration
    3 – Adds 424 Critical Resistance
    4 – Adds 129 Stamina Recovery
5 – When you apply a Major Debuff to an enemy, remove a Major Buff with a duration from the target. When you apply a Minor Debuff to an enemy, remove a Minor Buff with a duration from the target. These effects can both occur once every 2 seconds.

Most of this stuff will probably go live as is and I can adapt to most of it, but I dont see how anyone can defend this set, its completely and utterly toxic in any scenario. Think of all the ways that someone remove a major and minor debuff every 2 sec. I dont see how anyone can enjoy having to juggle buffs even more because of some busted set.

    I agree.

One of the things I most appreciated about ESO is that there was no purge mechanic.

It was such an annoyance in other games.

I would really like for this set to not be introduced to the game.

OP is a pretty good PvPer but his reasons are vague, as if his main interest is that other players hate it. If he wants a real discussion then he should give some more specific examples and reasoning as to how this patch improves the things he claims it improves, especially the part about it raising the floor, which I strongly disagree with.

Probably you dont even notice directly which buff got removed, you first have to look at your active effects which one is missing before recasting it. Probably this set will make oakensoul even more popular than before despite nerf because your buffs dont have a duration and will be safe. Oakensoul with Nocutrnals Ploy and Kynmarcher and skills with many debuffs(caltrops/deep fissure/defile blastbones)

My damage ostensibly goes up this patch, but I play Stamblade and we're getting unnecessary buffs. I've played PTS, and know how it feels. Its a boring rotation. Yeah its a little more relaxing not having to try in order to deal damage, but you know what I used to do if I didn't wanna work hard to put out high numbers? I played magblade. Magblade has been painstaking to play the past few patches and also bottom of the heap for damage so I don't bother. Yeah I have to work hard on stamblade but I hit so hard on my outdated build that I feel its worth while.

Also why nerf dots? Genuinely. Why? Why make every fight take longer? Why make dots not worth applying in short fights? Why appeal to toxic casuals who don't want to have to try in order to complete veteran content? Why even have veteran content if you're just gonna try to appeal to people who think Kirby's Epic Yarn is as difficult as games should ever get? We already lost our cosmetic rewards for challenger achieves so what's the point? We just get a title now, but every patch introduces like 6 new titles minimum and we still have a cap on the number of characters that would use them.

    Greetings all,

After review, we would like to take a moment to remind everyone that all posts should be kept within the Community Rules. Baiting is a violation of those rules, and is stated as follows:
    • Trolling or Baiting: The act of trolling is defined as something that is created for the intent to provoke conflict, shock others, or to elicit a strong negative or emotional reaction. It’s okay and very normal to disagree with others, and even to debate, but provoking conflict, baiting, inciting, mocking, etc. is never acceptable in the official The Elder Scrolls Online community. If you do not have something constructive or meaningful to add to a discussion, we strongly recommend you refrain from posting in that thread, and find another discussion to participate in instead. It is also not constructive or helpful to publicly call out others and accuse them of trolling, or call them a troll—please refrain from doing so. If you genuinely believe someone is trolling, please report the post or thread to the ESO Team, and leave it at that.
If there may be any questions in regards to the rules, please take a few moments to review them here.

    Thank you for your understanding,
    -Greg-

For those who asked me about specifics, my favorite aspect of this patch is the rebalancing of heal over time abilities. I feel that they were far too strong and creating situations where pressure damage was simply healed through and presented no threat, making the only way to kill someone a massive spike of burst damage. Now perhaps both pressure and burst will be useful.

Your point about pressure vs burst is a good one and often overlooked, but the nerfs to DoT dps have me skeptical. I guess we'll see if Whip spam and Surprise spam are enough pressure against generic burst heal spam. Thrilling PvP.

If DOTs took less of a hit, I'd be more hopeful, but I suspect DOTs will seem even more futile in a PvP environment where those weaker HOTs are still getting stacked
