Has anyone made a parse on PTS yet?

They added new buffs to the dummy so comparing numbers between live and PTS wont be that easy ;p

Friend of mine's parse on PTS. With a very similar setup he was hitting ~118k on live.

Can always just go back down to a 3/6M for comparison sake.

    118k to 89?

But didn't they buff the trial dummy or did I read the notes wrongly?

Hope we can more data to compare.

They did. Warden got absolutely dumpstered. If I even find the will to give a damn, I will hop on PTS and parse with Warden, but I will probably just swap to Necro full-time and acquiesce to Zos' will.

Yeah but wouldn't major breach at the very least need to be applied to give some data?

I dunno, I don't know how the old timer's used to parse on those things xD I only use it for solo setups.

Not at all. You have to think, the Warden passive was a flat ~8% damage buff in his live parse.

    118k * .08 = 9,442

So Wardens lost ~9.5k DPS just from that single change alone, ignoring everything else entirely. That's a 10k swing.

118k to 89k when the target dummy was buffed... I'm speechless.

As a warden main, this is deeply demoralizing.

Necro got a flat 5% damage nerf to a specific form of damage (DoTs).

Wardens got a scaling damage nerf (2-12%) to literally every type of damage they do.

Stuns me that people are actually surprised they dumpstered them so hard.

It will take at least a few days for PTS parses to be realistic as optimal rotations will change drastically due to increased DOT timers.

I imagine it will likely be a bit closer once the optimization of skills has been figured out. Can't really directly take a live build and a PTS build and compare them to gauge where PTS damage is at, since the DOT changes are pretty massive and will require a lot of tinkering.

Nah. It was live in the sense it was on PTS to save pots, but it was the exact same patch. Nothing changed. He just didn't want to waste pots parsing live. So same umbrella of changes/meta, just on PTS for resources. Same way a lot of folks practice. The important CP are still slotted/unlocked.

Hail looks to be the winner. Carve looks dead. Not a lot else changed. You'll still run most of the same skills.

I would not obsess over early parses. People need time to theorycraft. There are a lot of changes. It is unlikely that the best builds and approaches from live would still be the best on PTS.

Gilliam talked about doing 80 hours of parsing during development. I wish they would have shared what kind of numbers he gets so we have some idea of what is possible when you have experience with all the changes and best way to build for them.

I hate to break it to you, but an 8% flat damage nerf is an 8% flat damage nerf regardless of what skills you slap on.

Here is my last parse on live servers compared to the parse I just did on pts. My light attack rate on pts is actually better and I'll note this is with me starting killers blade at 50% instead of 25%. Otherwise the same stuff kinras/rele/harpooners/slimecraw. This is with a stamblade that actually got otherwise buffed... So compare that to classes that got nerfs alongside the dot and light attack change and you have a pretty demoralizing picture.

The people who think the DPS is going to go up on the PTS by any appreciable amount are being way too hopeful. The dummy got buffed, and parses are still down 30K+.

No amount of theory-crafting to going to make up the giant pile of nerfs they shoved out today.

Its been setup to be flanked since it was placed. So you might as well take that to mean the change is bugged.

Well we have been asking for a harder overland. Looks like we got it for some classes at least.

I'm a terrible player I know this. To add to that I have hand issues that make playing hard for me. But I went from a 26k parse on a 3mil dummy to 14k. I'm done being able to participate. I can't do vet dungeons at that DPS... I might as well just uninstall now.

Feel free to come on over to my thread. You too, @Dalsinthus. Maybe if we're loud and obnoxious enough they'll find it more difficult to ignore the smallest class minority in the game's cries once again.
