Do you want romances in companions? And open world elements

As an option for players who wish to? Sure.

This one seems to recall ZOS mentioned romance with companions as a possibility.

My introduction to PvE romance was in two BioWare games, Dragon Age: Origins and Mass Effect. The devs certainly knew how to make compelling stories that left me with a very good impression.
Romance would be a nice way for the companions' stories to expand a little further, not to mention a nice extra reward for all that effort in building rapport.

I have zero interest in roleplaying, so I personally have no opinion on this, but given that they've tightened character naming rules to be G rated to the point of being boring, I don't see them allowing something like this.

For myself, playing ESO is about adventure and exploration. If I want romance, I'll turn my PC off and spend some time in the real world.

I'd like to think most people know the difference between a story and real life lol. I always find this sort of comment baffling.

Is housing also included in this thinking? You interact with it in the real world and not in the virtual one? What about fishing? Why fish in a game, you should do it irl! Why not adventure in real life only? There are so many things to see and do out there!

I can have romance in the real world and in a game. Those two things aren't related in any way.

The companions in SWTOR are integral to your character’s story line and there are a lot of dialogue choices you need to make along the way to even get to the possibility. It could be done in ESO but it would require an overhaul of companion dialogue and the rapport system to make it more dynamic

It could be a good way to bring extra life to the Scroll of Mara system. If you fully romance your companion, you can use a scroll to get married and get the same buff as if you’d married another player. You’d also have to go through the divorce steps and redo it if you want to romance a different companion.

My real life partner hasn’t played for years and i can’t see them ever getting back into it (they hated the idea that a game relied on exploiting animation cancelling as part of its skill ceiling instead of appropriately balanced and timed play) and I have a second scroll just hanging out in my bank I’d like to put to use. I can’t see myself using it with a real player though because I don’t want that level of singular in-game time commitment to someone else

Well, if the companions have meaningful character development and storyline similar to Serena from Skyrim, or Dragon Age or Mass Effect, then yes, a romantic plot as option to pursue will be nice.

This one can see that ZOS has made some improvements to the current new companions in terms of dialogue and personal quests, but not close enough yet to make Sammy think, yes, Sammy has a Breton Nightblade alt or that Redguard Templar will be interested in having more than a friendly interaction with Bastie/Ember/Isobel/Mirri.

No one is making us happier in real life though, at least in ESO Mirri loves me. I love her and she loves me, win win.

There is zero reasoning to not get romance in video game, unless your a playboy somesort and having people around you all the time. :)

I'm not against romancing companions but it isn't very high on my wish list, either. New activities are good and I'd give it a shot, but I don't read or watch romances in any other genre so it could easily be too demonstrative for my taste. I was happy with Skyrim, aside from my husband complaining about the dog and all the family members constantly knocking my decorations off the tables.

I would put bathhouses in cities, where you have to pay gold to enter.

I would put sexual attributes on our characters like in Conan Exiles.

Oh, yes, please randomly assign one of the attributes "straight", "gay" or "bi" to every character, without the player being able to change it (for the sake of realism, as you can't change in real life either)! I can see that causing a lot of chaos, which is amazing - if you like chaos, that is. That's not what you thought of? :p

His comment got removed. Don't you dare to speak about...... "things" in video games!

We have 9 years old kids who plays ESO here! They can see blood effects, kill animations, deadra but they cannot see ...... things!

No, it's not deleted, it's still perfectly readable on the first page of this thread. And it's not necessarily about kids either (this game is for adults anyway), if you find giving player characters official "sexual attributes" and including usable brothels in ESO useless, distasteful or just very very low-priority.

Romancing companions is rather shallow and pointless. I have no issues with Zenimax and IIRC they have said such a thing may or will be added. Looking at how SWTOR did it, the exercise is rather shallow in the end and I doubt it would be any different here.

Beyond that, the OP seems to be more a rant against how poorly Bioware managed SWTOR rather than things concerning ESO.

Yes they should add it to the character arcs including the previously released companions. Would be neat to have the structure we have now for chapter releases, then when Q4 releases we get additional quests for the companions and further the relationship into romance. I’d also like to see additional interactions with them in the inns and player homes, contextual conversations where they ask your opinion with answers that affect rapport. More organic dialogue options and conversations. There’s a lot they could do.

Also please let existing characters like Naryu and Kireth be added to companions.

I wouldn't mind I spose, it would add another layer of interactivity.

Sadly I doubt we will ever see this as I don't think there is enough demand for romance-features, kinda niche.
ZoS would have to invest a fair amount of time and resources to implement it and they wouldn't get much return on it.

Easier to create cool looking CS items for easy cash while working on the next big installment in the series each year.

Companion? Not good enough for my op Tamriel Hero. 😏 I want Count Verandis Ravenwatch or Sotha. But it's impossible. So... no.

We need marriages between players tho. Not just Rings of Mara. Maby new temple for ceremony ot something like that. Imagine your couple and guild there.

No thank you. It serves no purpose at all. You can easily "roleplay" a relationship with your companion. No need for ZOS to dump money into that. I would rather see them put time into helms for them than adding more dialog/romance junk.
What is the definition of insanity? Ask ZOS.
