NB need something, just something ... nb burst is the easiest thing in the world to avoid/counter

A good start would be some kind of passive that does this:

You’re Assassination abilities deal 1% more damage to targets for every 2% of their health they are missing.

Personally, I would make Death Stroke the execute too, and add a Bleed DoT to Killer’s Blade and Impale instead.

Death Stroke feels like a finisher in my opinion.

Great idea except the damage bonus part to the Assassination Skill Line abilities (I feel stupid even having to comment on this) because it'd be a garbage passive due to it having a total of 4/6 abilities tuned to damage.... With none of those abilities being an actual spammable. Now maybe swap concealed weapon over to Assassination Skill Line, you know, so an ASSASSIN actually has an opening and spammable damage ability instead of:

    1. a garbage gap closer which closes itself more than it actual closes to the intended target, removes you from stealth, and does garbage total damage... As a Dot lolz

    2. a 7 second minimum buildup window for a clunky arrow boi single target burst that does less total damage than one cast of Templar AoE self healing Spear Jabs... 7 seconds of the target doesn't dodge any of your light attacks- you know, because we totally don't want the element of surprise as an Assassin

    3. A shiny-red bubble boi defensive spell effect which used to look cool as heck until they "updated" it's animations and effects... Because we assassins all about that there defense. As my father always taught me as a young boi, "Son, a strong defense is the best offense." The soldiers who held Osgoliath from forces of Mordor can attest to that.

    4. Mark target, enveloping an enemy in shadow, weakening their defenses and totally letting them know someone is creeping on them because we're classy and like to let them know they should just hold block for the next 5 seconds. Whoever uses that skill totes graduated top of the Nightblade Assassin academy class of "Stealth 101."

    5. An execution ability dealing 300% damage at 25% health! Woohoo! A morph turning it into ranged and a morph which keeps it close quarters, but it heals you after killing the enemy! Freaking awesome!

    "Wait a sec..."

*Looks to the right and finally sees the light- it's been a good run...*

"Oh wait, that's just Templar Timmy using his class execute. ---Oh, Templar Timmy, you're telling me you have a ranged execute that tops at 480%/500% damage, it starts scaling at 50% health, a morph heals you for 20% of the damage so you can keep pressure constantly while executing, it's a 1.8 second channel so you get a resource recovery tick in there so it's pretty much self-sustaining every cast, gives you 3 ultimate every 6 seconds, has 10% increased crit damage from your class passive and it deals 10% more damage to targets who block without having to slot any class-specific garbage abilities, simply casting it gives you the class-unique group buff of 10% spell damage instead of a failing Nightblade tank or healer trying to get a measly critical hit on an enemy so they can give their group 6% weapon critical.... Oh, and you're saying your class execute is also optional to use because if you don't feel like sweating because you're down sick with the flu, you simply spear jab as your execute and the entire time because it does very similar damage in comparison to my peasant class execute? And maybe if you want to throw in a little bit of effort because your recovery from the flu is going well, you use spear jabs in combination with Power of the Light for insane burst numbers? Wow, Templar Timmy... Thanks for that insight. Let me just go throw this here Nightblade character your friends with in the garbage and reroll a Templar with you."

    Lolz

I could go on about the Assassination ultimate, but I think my point is made with the light humor. The only abilities of the Assassin skill line that should be the front bar are the execute and the Ultimate (so you can build up ultimate really fast or help with sustain, depending on content- and maybe sometimes actually use it during trial boss execute phase to boost your execute numbers), and Assassin Will, if that's what you're into. Passive would give you 6% critical from those three abilities. Even other ability is trash in regards to actual "assassination" theme, and even one, two of those abilities needed on the bar for a Nightblade DPS are pretty garbage comparitively speaking some other class abilities. I would scrap all those abilities if able, but then you lose out on 10% crit damage lolz

It's a rough situation for Nightblade. I quit my main Nightblade of 7 years I did everything on because the class has been neutered so badly, you have to work so hard for the return on investment. Made a Templar for my new main to go through the entire game again... 34k base damage Jabs real good in comparison to my 5k Sap Essence and not having to rely on proc sets to do all my damage for me.

It's cool to see Oakensoul actually making Nightblades semi-scary again in PVP and somehow Nightblade burst potential will get trimmed instead of realizing the huge problem Oakensoul may have been once unleashed into the wild.

Because ZOS, in all its wisdom, decided there needed to be a stealth class. Everyone hates stealth classes, and they are a PITA to balance. In the end ZOS has made sure they can't gank most players, at the cost of NBs performing terribly compared to other classes.

The one thing that makes them unique is the reason they will forever be at the bottom. I love the nightblade, but playing them is just making life harder on yourself.

I don't like shadow cloak, I rather see total rework of NB and drop that thing completetly. Yes, I'm playing NB.

If you ask buff for nightblades , I dont know what to say. Anyway ZOS never ever balance night blades on par with other classes . Especially PVP. If anyone have no skill and look 1vx pro nightblade is the class for you. DK or templars might be nerfed. Nightblades never ever will get a nerf. I request all to make a nightblade broken class. It's so easy to spam kills with this broken class. Please wait for leveling. Once fully leveled, cyprodiil is paradise unless you meet night blades against you.

Never nerfed? How long have you been playing? Look at the elswyer patch. You think sorcerers are getting hit bad? That is absolutely nothing compared to the nightblade during that patch. Second stamblade is not that bad but magblade loses in relation to most other classes in DPS for pve. It's a fact, numbers don't lie. The rotation is easy to mess up and takes a hunk out of your dps if you do. No class should have to be exclusively good in pvp and garbage In pve. That's ridiculous when you consider the possibilities for other classes.

magblade needs some sweet sweet lovinnn, patch notes look ok for magblade at least (tho stamblade is bananas). at the very least some other classes have been brought down a bit from the extreme 30k difference in max parses from live right now

Twisting path is taking a fat nerf, even as of 8.1.3. Swallow soul still deals less damage than elemental weapon and other ranged spammables.

Honestly ranged builds shouldn't deal as much damage as melee, but they could safely buff swallow soul without effecting stamblades.
