I'm on the West Coast. I wake up at 8:30 am, get ready to go to work, and then go to work. Maintenance in ESO is 99% done on a weekday, so unless it's a holiday, I never really need to deal with maintenance unless it's emergency maintenance, at least when it comes to ESO.
When I played Maplestory regularly, emergency maintenances came around frequently and regularly at times, and the game itself has never been very stable after the big bang update in 2010. The game is only going to be stable soon when it gets the new servers next major update in a couple months, so until that happens I've been avoiding that game. But when I was regularly playing that, and maintenance hit, I'd usually just do something else. Like play ESO, or another videogame. Make dinner, go to the grocery store, watch TV or something.

Melbourne Aus, so maintenance is right in the middle of peak. 6pm to 10pm. It really sucks that we 2 or more nights a month to maintenance.

ESO is a side game to me only. My usual way to play is to dash along the day, about 20 to 30 minutes at each login. When there is maintenance, day is lost as I don't play in the evening (am EU playing on NA), but I don't care much. My day keeps running same than usual, what includes real life (gardening, sport, dog, family and friends) + main game.

If I'm not at work I find a different game to play, usually Guild Wars 2 (which doesn't need to go offline for updates) or something single-player like Tunic or Baldur's Gate (yes, the old one, I'm replaying it, again).

Maintenance happens when I wouldn’t be playing anyway, so there’s no impact to me. I wake up and go to work, and when I get home at night the maintenance is long past. If it’s a long maintenance I spend time on the forums throughout the day for entertainment purposes.

For me, maintenance usually takes place overnight/morning, which isn't when I usually play anyway.

Maintenance is currently at 6pm my time, so I login and do writs/mount/ IC daily and endeavours before it offlines. Usually I leave a couple of weekend chores to do at that time and either PTS or play another game, but yes I do check the forum for availability.

Edit: you people for whom maintenance occurs while you're asleep or at work, don't know how lucky you are.
