But hey, apparently its obsessive to want to complete all the zone on alts. To play the quests in delves or public dungeons.
To play the actual game. 🙃

The group events in public dungeons are not completed. Neither are the public dungeons themselves or their quests, only after completing the quest the public dugeons look completed on the map.
The same applies to quests in delves. They are not completed at all until the alt does them.
What is incredibly annoying is that your alts have to wait for the delve boss to spawn now. Previously the bosses spawned as soon as a character who had never killed it before would approach the boss.

All quest's are marked done, Delv bosses marked done. Rare Fish all done.
Yea, zone guide does not get around that AwA ruined replayablity.
That images has you at 0/10 on the main quest 0/19 on the side quests. Under map completion those icons are from top left main quest, wayshrine, delve, side quest, point of interest, crafting station, mundus stone, public dungeon, world event, world boss, skyshard, mage guild lore books.
The only pre-completed items are the delve, world event, and bosses.
Actually, Points of Interest show on guide as not done but when click on actual list, all ticked off.
And all the bosses in the public dungeon are marked as done.

I have been playing since 2015, taking my 18 characters through everything, usually in the sensible makes-sense zone story order. My main does everything first though, and has completed nearly every single thing in the game.
Before U33 it was easy for me to work out which character needed to do what / where. I just checked their achievements. I am just grateful that I paid attention when this was announced, and realised that Zos were not going to take any notice of the huge thread on the subject, that I went old school & noted all my alts progress on spreadsheets & ESO app.
That has been the only way for me to reliably track any alts progress. If I hadn’t, I would have no idea and it would have had such a significant impact on my gameplay.
The Zone Guide may help with odd bits now, such as main quest, but it in no way makes up for the loss of progress tracking via the old way, by achievements.

That doesn't help people on console.
The Dungeon Tracker addon will show you whether each character has completed the skillpoint group challenge in public dungeons, or the skillpoint quest in group dungeons. You can set it to show the completion status of all your characters in the tooltips or just your current character. It is on esoui.com.
I've been working on completing all the Firesong content with a particular alt. Yesterday I found a new volcanic vent that immediately popped up as a white icon as if completed as soon as I got too close. Then I felt obligated to sit there until the event spawned at that location in order to make it accurate for that character. I knew if I left, I would probably never remember that she had yet to actually complete that particular vent.
With 18 characters currently, I have so many spreadsheets and other docs to keep up with character progress. Unfortunately, I didn't realize how bad AWA would be ahead of time, so there's a lot of character progress info that was just lost. Even this long after its initial implementation, I still hate it. This is my number one worst change ZOS ever made to the game in any update.

They ***ed it up with AWA. Permanently crippled replay value of their own game to save some kilobytes of server data storage per account. It definitely changed how I play the game now. I run through delve some other character has already done to pick the skyshard. Publuc dungeons it's the skysherd and public event skill point and done. I do only redo questlines to unlock things. New story content I do once and then its done and only new boring grinds are left for alts.
