    Why?
This event has absolutely no problem whatsoever !

    It's so fun to .
    1. See a bajillion of the same junk every time you open a guild trader.
    2. Having our hard-earned achievement of getting all motif rendered null because there's so much motif being handed that they could basically be used as toilet paper with the price drop.
    3. Having to read 137 posts of the forum asking for an extention of that marvel of an event because last maintenance lasted 37s more than usual.
    4. Having to see people being happy because they opended a box that contains a rare item that will inevitably be worth next to nothing 3 days later.

    ...yay ...

That event is, by very, very far, the absolute worst par of the game.

Whoever genius designed it should be ashamed.

For as long as people are busy with the event, they are not that much in quest caves, and that is a good thing, less dead stuff in there and a quest can be fun - I like events that keep people busy with something else, where they are out of my way.

As a guild leader, this change to Event Pets is extremely frustrating.

I have nurses on rotation and college students who need to do their homework. It was always nice to keep a few Event items for when they could log back in, or for new players who joined you later in the year. Sure they were never worth much on the Guild Traders, but they still make nice gifts.

I don't think it's an improvement to add something anti social to a social Event.

They stack, but you need to buy the recipe with tickets to build it. Which means those parts are useless after the event. Say compared to other options like runeboxes where you can simply put it into guild bank for someone to pick up later on.

The thing I love most about this event is also the thing I hate the most about it-- namely, the sheer abundance of motifs that drop.

I don't sell stuff to other players; I hang onto it for my own use, or deconstruct it (if it's gear), or sell it to NPC merchants (if it has a gold value), or deposit it in guild banks for fellow guild members to use, or give it away to other players.

Most of my characters are no higher than skill level 1, 2, or 3 in the various crafting professions, so I end up with a large number of motifs they can't learn yet because those motifs require a skill level of 7 or above in Blacksmithing, Clothing, or Woodworking. It wouldn't be so bad except that most motifs are broken down into individual pages, therefore a single motif style ends up requiring a dozen or so inventory slots-- and there are so many motif styles which are like that.

Consequently, I want to grind as many event coffers as I can in the hopes of getting motif pages I haven't learned yet, as well as getting a lot of crafting materials-- whether common or rare, but especially rare-- but I also cringe at the thought of doing crafting writs on all of my alts and ending up with fewer and fewer empty inventory slots.

Right now my biggest problem with the event is having to leave event coffers unemptied because they contain Transmute Crystals which would put me over 1000. I need to reconstruct some good gear for some alts who've finally hit Level 50, after which I can empty out those event coffers and reclaim some inventory slots, but I haven't gotten a Round Tuit yet.

Just have one fully completed set that is not a mythic item and construct a junk piece for 25 transmutes. As long as you only paid 25 transmutes to construct it you'll get a 100% return on your transmutes when you deconstruct the item later. It essentially behaves like packaging your own 25 crystal geodes.

I think it's that it's not *just* the insane drop rate to spider parts-- it's that actually getting the pet is locked behind tickets that is leading them to be frustrated. In the past (pre-last joker's festival), pets could be obtained through loot box drops, or assembled from pieces that dropped, swapped with guildies and other players, or bought from guild traders. You can now have guildies with 100's of spider parts, but they can't help anyone else get the pet because assembly instructions are locked behind 5 tickets. Considering there's only 3 tickets per day, that's two days worth of tickets and log-ins, non-negotiable, just to get a pet that in previous events could be had with NO tickets at all, if you were lucky or other players helped you out.

Only one Saberkeel page will drop per day--the rest can be bought for tickets, or an exorbitant amount of gold since ZOS decided to inflate their rarity which shuts out anyone new to the game & most casual players.

Every ticketed event since ZOS started running them has always had more stuff available to purchase for tickets than tickets available during the event-- but, if you ground out the content, you could still complete your sets, help guildies, sell extras, and have tickets to spare. The 2022 Jester's festival with the now nigh-impossible to obtain sovereign sow (converted to bound fragments, and no longer tradeable), was the start of AGGRESSIVELY gate-keeping & excluding players from obtaining event content. Other players could help you out in previous events, it helped strengthen the community. If a player tries to help someone in THIS event, it is directly harmful to their own ability to complete event content, with the exception of 1:1 swaps of saberkeel.

The way ZOS has organized the drops for this event, and locked the event pet behind a ticket wall, is absolutely harmful to players who are new, casual, or with real life commitments that cannot be skipped, postponed, or missed. Guildies cannot help you--except with spider parts which every has too many of, and it STILL won't give you the pet. Saberkeel pages will not drop more no matter how many boxes you open, and if RNG isn't kind, you will have to use tickets to complete the set, buy it with HUGE amount of in-game gold, or pray you get lucky trying to swap dupes. That's not including the 10 tickets required for EACH of the 2 pieces of the new quasi-griff mount, or the fact that the worm-cult motif is now ONLY available in ticketed grab-bags.

This year's jubilee event is the most aggressively monetized, exclusionary, and time-gated event that ESO has ever had in my memory, and I've played ESO in some form since 2017. I hope they reconsider what they're doing and how they run events, because it's a very troubling direction to be moving towards.

I hear this over and over on the forums and it baffles me... I'm struggling to sell the Saberkeel pages on PC-NA for 50k, how is this price "exorbitant"? Because it isn't free? Cadwell's pages were more than that even at the end of the Jester's event and they were a multi-year return. This event literally vomits gold at players and so to complain at anything at all under 100k just makes my head hurt.

Complaints about the pet are valid, they just don't bother me because I have 160+ non-combat pets already and I'll only spend the tickets if there's literally nothing else I want to buy.

...Anything under 100k makes your head hurt?

100k is a lot for a new player or casual, 100k X 7 is completely out of their reach, and saberkeel drops are NOT guaranteed, just intentionally limited by ZOS to a MAX of one drop per day. I've been a millionaire in ESO on console and PC for years, so expensive motifs aren't a problem for me personally, but I know that building gold when you're just starting out or just playing to have fun is a grind, especially if you're not part of a trading guild.

The pet behind a ticket wall is exclusionary.

Saber-keel being limited to one drop per day that's not even guaranteed is time-gated & exclusionary .

Worm cult pages being behind a ticket wall and grab bags only is exclusionary.

Unlike in previous events, players can't help each other complete event collections except by 1:1 swaps of saberkeel, UNLESS they buy tickets in the crown store. That's exclusionary, and against the tradition of all previous in-game events prior to 2022.

I stand by what I said: this event is the most aggressively monetized, exclusionary, and time-gated event that ESO has ever had in my memory, and I've played ESO in some form since 2017. This NOT a good direction to take future events. The fact that certain players have the in-game gold or crowns to compensate for this practice does NOT negate the reality that is is a BAD, exclusionary, and predatory practice. I hope ZOS reconsiders how they handle events moving forward.
