What kind of rewards do you want with the card game?

The horse is dead... Let's move on please.

That particular horse will continue to be beaten until the day the game closes it's doors. I guarantee it.

I feel like the rewards you get should depend on the location of the match and the identity of your opponent. Maybe add in the ability to make wagers on the match beforehand to increase the value of the rewards.

    That sounds fun

I'de like it to unlock a subclass skill where you can throw cards at enemies or even send them to the shadow realms.

My only gripe is the idea of letting a random person use the cards that I earned. There should be a separate mode for this. and I hope they do add it. This will allow you to have friendly duels with friends, but if theres a ranked there is no such thing as friendship only pain and suffering.

I suspect they made the game this way to stop players being able to "sell wins" to one another. With this system in place you maybe can't lose even if you wanted too. I agree it will make the game less strategic with deck building and maybe the game itself in general. But they got to do something like this I guess or it cheapens the whole thing. :(

We had elder scrolls related card game, but it didnt get new content for few years now. I do not expect new card game in ESO to be nearly as good as ES:L was

I be want it to not be a grind. Play the game for some reward you’re playing for. Get the reward if you win. Not get 1 of 15 leads to the reward. Or, play for gold. No other reward. Play against other players not against rng.

Was going to write the same. Just gold. Everything else WILL be a grind, almost guaranteed. :(

I don't want a card game. I want a game that works. At some point, they'll have to stop adding things that no one asked for, and listen to their community. Just hoping that day will come before it's too late.

Apparently someone had asked for it. Though I would guess that what they actually asked for was more in line with the games from The Witcher, that were not "collectible card games". Not that ESO is so high in realism, but a collectible card game in a medieval fantasy setting is about as mood-killing as suddenly introducing the Borg or cars would be, at least to me.

Actually, maybe it would do them good if ZOS made a horrible mistake.

The game is great, it attracts many new players, but when these players see what's IN the game, they'll quit. The more patient ones may, however, remain.

Remember that ESO had its downs, after which there was an up, for clearly ZOS learned its lesson and for some time it was great. Maybe it's time for another down, so that they can have an opportunity to learn their lesson anew.

Not shareholders - us, the playerbase.

In our current economic system, shareholders > consumers. Every time. Always.

Depending on against wich NPC you would be playing. When playing against simple citizen just som basic mats, when playing against nobles possible some blueprints or furniture?
When playing against thiefs some stolen goods,...you get my point.
When playing against other player, whatever both agree to gamble about.

That would be awesome, but it won't be the case. Too much hassle to do that sort of thing I think. I mean, there isn't even that sort of logic in delves or dungeons - you can find newly printed books and fresh food in that grotto that no one has set foot in for thousands of years, so... o:)

I really like the addition of the card game. Much like how I tried PVP once and ended up playing nothing but PVP for a year, I really hope it's enticing enough to grant me the same trip down the rabbit hole.

I was going to write that I wouldn't want any gear, but would love some collectibles but after seeing these comments of gambling gold, I have to say THAT is what I want.

Gold and other stuff you can get elsewhere definitely. A bit of stuff that you could only get from the card game but could trade with players and maybe a handful of bind on loot things that could be farmed within reasonable time.

I think it would also be nice to be able to see chat so you can play while waiting for a trial or for your group to get ready.

This one is more worried that the rewards will be heaps of low level mats - 5 potatoes or summat.

    What's low level mats, preciousss?

This I doubt will be the case. Same as with the archeology mechanic, it would diminish the need to actually get the minigame (and with it the chapter). So in order to make it more enticint to buy the chapter, and the card game, many or all of the unique rewards will be bound to the winner, and not tradeable.

I'd like the card game to be the new means to acquire 'ancient' motifs.

However to keep it in line with current ones, specially Ancient Daedric, it should go along these lines:

On one specific zone there is a low probability of finding an NPC as random encounter that has a low probability of wanting to engage on a game of cards with the player.

If the card game takes place, and providing that you win, you have a low probability to get a lead that could well be a 'repeat' as a reward.

Is a winning formula apparently so let's keep doing it.

What. How could a (collectible) card game be as bad as cars? They already exist in various forms in the world of Elder Scrolls (Which is not some simple "medieval fantasy"), you can even find contraband that is tarot cards with daedric princes people collect. An equivalent of Magic the Gathering has even been mentioned. A lot of card games even existed in real life medieval times.
Like sure, you don't like it but saying it's like adding the Borg or cars is ridiculous.
[Lie] Of course! I don't even worship Daedra!

None. But knowing ZOS they will probably put some new OP antiquity leads behind the card game to force players to engage with the card game.

None for me as well, anything that can be won in the card game must be able to be earned via non-card game means IMO since a card game is so far from what an MMO is that it shouldn't be mandatory. I never even touched Gwent in the Witcher 3 since playing virtual cards is not why I play RPGs.

I think it should be implemented with almost no rewards. If it isn't fun enough to play without rewards then it shouldn't be implemented.

we are both playing from the same mixed stack - so it is a game of chance and doesn't require any skill. Against a real player it might even be advantageous to bring the worst stack ever to the game, just for a surprise element. There is no advantage to acquire good cards, because your enemy might be the lucky one using it against you.
