Same. I actually spend most of my keys on the 1-key random containers to get the Mercenary motif and have most of my monster helms filled out in my stickerbook... still only 1 Mercenary motif though...

This is why I love the Golden Vendor - very often you can buy shoulders you need there without wasting tons of keys.

I wanted to get the Maw of the Infernal monster set for my pet sorc. First lot of keys spent and I got the epaulets with divine trait. Then went and did 1 run of the vBCII with guildies and get the light helm drop from the boss with divine trait. Could not believe it.

Every other time, it's exactly as you experienced.

It sucks but the chances of getting what you want now are higher than they used to be in the 3 chest system with much bigger loot pools.

The only time I ever was lucky with the stupid coffers is when I got Velidreth shoulder as divines medium... Still can't believe my luck. Meanwhile am still trying to get light Iceheart, Maw of the Infernal and Valkyn Skoria with no luck haha. I wish you the bestest of luck getting what you need, OP!

Your chances of getting it with 20 keys (4 attempts) are roughly 51%, so don't be too disappointed. You will need 65 keys (13 attempts) to have a roughly 90% of getting the shoulders you want (bear in my the keys you've already spent don't "count" towards that).

Really, the 5-key coffers ought to also be affected by curated loot drops.

The "Mystery" Coffers should, of course, be truly random.

On the upside, I have a full PvE monster set stickerbook (the PvP ones will wait until the Golden gets them, spending tel var not happening unless they make them curated too).

On the downside another six shoulders incoming, another key grindathon ahead.

i just dont bother with shoulders until they show up on the gold vendor, i only spend some keys on them when its a brand new monster set and i have no shoulders collected for that set (ive hardly spent any keys in ages, currently almost 200 undaunted keys, only occasionally been spending them on the monster shoulder outfit pages because i realized i was never spending them on anything lol)

I started doing pledges when they released in 2014 and didn’t get a single Bloodspawn shoulder until April 2016. Everyday I was met with the same disappointment

55 keys back in the 2017 to have my medium divine Illambris shoulder, no reconstruction, no trait change, no sticker book, just random drops.

I know more than one YouTuber insists that you should always gamble the keys, but with my RMG I’d be there until the stars fell from the sky. 100,000 gold is pocket change compared to the amount of dungeon bashing needed to get them the old-fashioned way.

Which is why I find it crazy that people have asked numerous times for the golden to only sell heads.

Heads are super easy to get. So the dungeon, get it.

Shoulders are far more valuable on the golden imo.

Friends don't let friends buy 5-key coffers.

The nice thing about 1-key coffers is that you're getting 5x more items. Even if you don't get what you want, you are collecting a lot of other pieces.

So when the combat balance inevitably changes and you find yourself needing Skoria instead, you'll have it already collected and ready to use.

Sure, if you need a specific item now, you'll get it faster with the 5-key coffers. But it's like getting a high-interest payday loan: you have a better chance at instant gratification, but you're screwing yourself over in the long run.
