Dark Convergence

People still complain about Dark Convergence? Jeez...

It's receiving a buff on PTS so yes, people are responding to the proposed changes that will make it much more prevalent again in PVP.

Which, to be fair, is a terrible idea. We lost a tremendous amount of players during that meta, and it became challenging to find decent fights outside of primetime in open world PVP. We should not replicate that failure.

The solution, as always, is simple. Separate PVP and PVE values for gear/skills.
Yes, buffing Dark Convergence is toxic in PVP. Not buffing Dark Convergence leaves it barely useful in PVE.
So no matter what, one group is going to be unhappy.

Not a bad solution, honestly. I don't know that the use case in PVE is significant enough to override the toxicity of the set in PVP, but a solution that makes it viable but not overpowered for both would be fine.

I dont understand the hate behind this set.

Its a nuisance to be sure, but hardly insurmountable.

Its fairly easy to avoid and/or escape.

I just dont get whats wrong with it.

The solution is simple. Everyone run Dark Convergence and Baron Thirsk on a Harmony Necro... with vicious death. Make all the things go boom.

Because when you've got the kind of people who it should be used on present your skills fire erraticallly and there is 3 seconds of lag. At that point DC rubber bands people, blocking and dodging don't fire for several seconds and so on.

If PvP lag actually got fixed it might not be so bad.

It is however still hugely overpowered in PvE. I should not be able to clock over 200k dps on trash packs with a far from optimal PvE stam warden using it; especially given the fact it is going to get a boost in U33

Too many toons not enough time

It's a little known fact that when you kill a zergling, their bowels relax and they release a dark convergence proc all over the area around them.

Please leave gender comments out of your insults.

There are four ESO players in my household, who've all been playing 5 years now. The two wives (one of which is myself) run guilds, help new players, are involved in many aspects of the game - and I'm constantly trying to learn more about Lua to improve my addon. The two husbands are the more casual players who just enjoy picking flowers and playing solo. (Which is fine; no shame on them. Everyone should play as they wish.)

I really appreciate the diversity of people in this game - almost half are women, there's a wide range of ages, and they come from all over, speak many languages. We're all gamers at heart. Thanks for your time and consideration.

The damage doesnt even matter in my opinion it will still get used with no damage, Necros be wrecking with graveyard colossus stacking on this its all about the pull, grab a bunch of people for a calculated burst the extra damage is just icing. is there a set that was designed for something that didn't get used another way? it seems that they need to adjust base game more than individual sets.

give penalties to large groups on healing in the back end or some other hard rule to encourage more small scale combat. introducing a specific set doesn't have enough control on how its used to guarantee an intended result

    Question:

The set is apparently triggered by "casting abilities that leave a ground effect" my question is that does this get triggered by ANYONE casting a ground effect or by the wearer casting a ground effect?

I'm getting murdilated regularly in Battlegrounds by this (and likely also Plaguebreak) and I still don't entirely understand what is happening
Tenesi Faryon of Telvanni - Dunmer Sorceress who deliberately sought sacrifice into Cold Harbor to rescue her beloved.
Hisa Ni Caemaire - Altmer Sorceress, member of the Order Draconis and Adept of the House of Dibella.
Broken Branch Toothmaul - goblin (for my goblin characters, I use either orsimer or bosmer templates) Templar, member of the Order Draconis and persistently unskilled pickpocket
Mol gro Durga - Orsimer Socerer/Battlemage who died the first time when the Nibenay Valley chapterhouse of the Order Draconis was destroyed, then went back to Cold Harbor to rescue his second/partner who was still captive. He overestimated his resistance to the hopelessness of Oblivion, about to give up, and looked up to see the golden glow of atherius surrounding a beautiful young woman who extended her hand to him and said "I can help you". He carried Fianna Kingsley out of Cold Harbor on his shoulder. He carried Alvard Stower under one arm. He also irritated the Prophet who had intended the portal for only Mol and Lyris.
    ***
Order Draconis - well c'mon there has to be some explanation for all those dragon tattoos.
House of Dibella - If you have ever seen or read "Memoirs of a Geisha" that's just the beginning...
Nibenay Valley Chapterhouse - Where now stands only desolate ground and a dolmen there once was a thriving community supporting one of the major chapterhouses of the Order Draconis

it is only triggered from the person who has the set equipped

but this means that said person who uses a synergy from someone else usually will trigger the proc (even effects that dont leave an effect on the ground such as the plaguebreak explosion, or synergies like the boneyard synergy or fear totem synergy can still trigger dark convergence)

I've come to terms with the fact that the set is doing what they want, and maybe not even as well as they want, so all these threads just continue to have no effect.

The only people running these sets are ball groups and mini zergs to grief people.
I drink and I stream things.
