Incentivize reading

I typically start with the zones pertinent to the character I'm starting to read them on - so for my mains that would be Daggerfall Covenant, reading them in game order from Stros M'kai through Rivenspire and following on with added DLC content. Then before I read everything else non-germane to DC on those characters, I'll pick up a character on AD, and then one on EP, and read those zones.

After that, I'll read DLC zones, and anything I have from the group content areas and Cyrodiil/IC (not that much as I don't do group content or pvp).

I generally don't read for "lore reasons" on every alt - I have a ton of alts, and after reading the faction zone books on mains, I tend to just get what I have to have for mages guild on alts I need that for (which isn't all of them for sure).

Thanks again! Are then all lore books available as individual books, or are some just to be reached via bookshelves?

AFAIK, all the lore books are dotted around the landscape (usually in 3 or 4 places, sometimes in different zones), and sometimes can also be found in those bookshelves. For the most part, by the time I've quested through various zones, I don't really find "new, unread" books in the bookshelves. For new alts, the bookshelves around are a really good trove of skill books - for instance, the bookshelves all over Summerset and Auridon seem to have a fair preponderance of skill books; and that's also true of all the mage guilds.

I want more quests with consequences for not reading.

In shadowfen I walked into a trap because I wasn't reading

In shadowfen I was surprised when you lost health recovery and healing during a quest. I am sure I should of read something.

I like the event guy who gives a buff if you pass quiz. It was fun

I want to be shown knowledge is power.
