Can you check on the pts to see if they are still there on your character? If so maybe you can present it as evidence to support.

@ZOS_Kevin, can you help here?

This is actually a good idea. So, I just checked the PTS and found them there. Well, the Grains at least since I only recently refined them. Took a screen shot just to make sure.Sylvermynx wrote: »There was another thread a week or so back about something similar. Let me see if I can find it. Edited my post with the ticket. This really happens to be some kind of rare bug. Hopefully they find a way the resolve this.
Thank you @Jaimeh @Sylvermynx for your input!

That would be a waste in the long run, most people who sit on a lot of stuff also use it, especially people like me with crafters. If we sold everything we have on the very slight chance we might get hit with a bug, that means we eventually have to buy everything back. It becomes a huge effort and headache, especially considering the most valuable materials you'd do this with to avoid losing them are super inflated.Since this has happened to several people lately, it's best not to hoard anything. Sell all your stuff and divide the gold between your characters.
No way you can login someone else's account even if know password.

there are no pro hackers on this planet, who will hack ESO account just to erase chromium platings.present on your computer or at least in your network (either physically as family member or remotely through a root kit) it isn't actually that difficult to gain access to the desired information.

I'm not questioning whether that's true, I'm just curious as to why? That means there were over 1000 Chromium Grains on the PTS, but no Chromium Platings, right?
Whenever I craft, I refine anything that can be refined, as soon as I've got 10 or more of the unrefined materials.
Why does anyone else let the unrefined materials pile up to such huge numbers before refining them?
Is it related to doing writs on 18 characters per day using an addon?
Is it related to buying large quantities of unrefined materials from other players?
As I said, I'm just curious.

Can't speak for the OP, but I do the same with Jewelry crafting. I decon everything, I do writs, etc.. and for Cloth, Wood, Smithing I refine them. But for JC I generally put it off and only refine when I either have a large amount of them or actually need them. No idea why I do that really, maybe because the JC table in Vivec is on the other side of the bank, or maybe because it seems to be a bit more of a hassle than refining the other types of materials with the extra steps involved?

I used to refine them all right away as well.
Now I only refine when I need them. I do this after talking to another player.
The developers may change the number of grains needed to make a plating sometime in the future. So keeping them as grains if they reduce it will allow me to get more platings in the future. If they change it to be the other way so it takes more (I don't foresee this), we'd know in advance on the PTS of a change like that, so I'd then refine them before that patch went live.

Why not let unrefined mats gather? People may not feel like stopping by the crafting stations any given day, or they might have a bunch of surveys they're picking away at and want to refine everything at once instead of running to a station to refine between every survey. Maybe they hang on to raw mats to sell in batches of certain amounts, because not everyone who farms mats is a crafter. Maybe they're like me and just like having a big number of mats to refine for no reason other than big numbers make our brains happy.SeaGtGruff wrote: »What confuses me about this instance is that "Over 100 Chromium Platings" disappeared, yet they weren't on the PTS either although "the Grains [were] at least since I only recently refined them."
