Any chance we have kids/teen characters in ESO?

It could vastly expand writers' possibilities and deepen player's immersion.

For a game forbidden below 18 with content not appropriate? I don't think it's possible.

What does that have to do with it? Having children in a world doesn't mean it's made for children.

My understanding is that it was a deliberate decision due to players being able to do not nice things to them, killing them probably being the least of it

I don't think this is the case. I mean japanese games have tons of underaged girls and boys and it never was a problem to anyone.

Yeah but like for example Skyrim has Children but they aren't killable. And then people modded them to be anyway. And now in ESO we have jokes about there being no kids in the game and a lack of kids.

No! No! Please no! These creatures are annoying enough in real life already, no reason having them around in video games as well.

Yes but this isn't a Japanese game.

    Why would you want them?

They could just be like quest NPCs though. And I've never seen anyone do weird stuff to kids in GW2, WoW or other games with children. And ESO is not moddable to that degree.

Not that I really miss them, I just don't know how it makes sense.

As much as I'd agree that children being in the game would make the world feel more real, ZOS will 100% never do it for similar reasons that Bethesda didn't do it in the single-player games (and when they finally did in Skyrim they made the kids immortal gods).

Children's immortality never was a problem to me, I didn't even install mods to fix it. The problem was in their similarity, basically they had one or two face presets

Except it wouldn't deepen my immersion, nor do I see how it expands the writers scope.

I'm quite happy without kids and quite frankly hope it stays that way. There are a lot of role players in the game, would you feel comfortable walking into an Adult Role Playing session where some of the characters are teens? No, neither would I. And thats why there are none in the game.

while i do think it would add to the immersion and make things more realistic. They would have to be non-killable, and any mods that allowed them to be would have to be banned outright.

I would like to see Tamriel more populated with more age spectrum, but I don't think it will happen. Too much work for the devs at this point.

Even NPC would you be happy walking into a room where there are children and there is an Adult Role Playing session going on? Again, I wouldn't be comfortable.

I'm not condoning the Adult RPing but it is going to happen wherever there are real people involved. Therefore you limit its scope. No kids is just the best solution.

I don't think it is widespread (if by saying "adult RP" you mean two naked characters lying on the bed). And besides, why would they do this in random house with children in it? I don't understand it. *shrug*

I think the number of people who would do that would be incredibly low, and possibly reportable.

I'd be cool with unkillable kids in the game personally. Don't think I'd ever see any issues with it.

Are child NPCs in games that unusual? I think most of the RPGs I've played have children, including 18 rated games like the Dragon Age series and other MMOs. I'm surprised to see so many people responding as if it's something unheard of or never done before and could have all kinds of bizarre and unpredictable results.

I also think a lot of the problems raised already have solutions. We already have many NPCs who cannot be killed or even attacked by players. As for eRP or whatever else if that's not a problem with the prostitutes in some of the taverns and other NPCs I can't imagine it will be a problem with child NPCs either.

As well as basic world building; making the world feel more complete and lived in rather than simply a background for granting XP it would make some of the quests less absurd - being sent to find and rescue someone's 'child' who is actually a full grown adult but acting like a child.

It's not that it's unheard of persay but some game series don't like children npcs in games for those reasons and Elder Scrolls is one of them.

That I said I agree with the rest of what you say. So consider this an extra heart ❤ on your post.

Aren't the hoards of female Bosmer dressed up like Toddlers in Tiaras enough of a red flag that there are creeps that would ruin it in the creepiest way possible, by going /there/ with it?

Absolutely not. Short women are still women. We deserve to dress however we please. Those characters are not toddlers, they are full grown women. And there are real women out there that are small, it don't make us any less of an adult.

No thank you. I like ESO as it is, a child-free passtime. I personally do not think it would add any immersion at all.
I have an ethereal crown of three spirit crows:
    - On top is Grandfather spouting words of wisdom.
    - On the left is Empathy who is rather naive.
    - On the right is Ego who is rather greedy.
The incessant cackling is quite amusing.

You know very well that I'm talking about the people who fetishize lolita. Young girls. They minimize the sliders on height and maximize the bust, and rump. They put them in skimpy clothes. Don't pretend that I'm generalizing all female short women.

Imagine instead of Stuga you'll have 10 children following you, asking you to find their puppy, parents, doll or bring them back home. Do we really want that?
I remember playing a few games that had children in them and in every single one they just were annoying.

I'd say it is a matter of writing. You can create good character everyone would love, or the one no one can stand.

P.S. Don't mind Stuga, I have only two more or less playable alts.

I find not having children in Tamriel actually immersive since none of the TES games pre-Skyrim had children in them.

Also, I would not want even pixelated children to be sharing a game world with the sorts of players who would download the killable children mod in Skyrim, or worse.
