    I like seeing them and it doesn't seem to be causing any particular issues in the game. It adds to the variety in game and you rarely get a chance to stop and look at them when not in town as generally doing activities.

    The only thing I would like hidden are the flappy sorc pets and warden bears but if the players with those are considerate it's good

    Yes with a caveat.

    When I say pets I refer to sorc/warden pets.

    I have no issue with - and I quite enjoy tbh - seeing other player's non-combat pets in towns.

    Maybe is because of habit but the warden bear - including my own - always bothered me significantly more than sorc pets and I sighed in relief when they introduced the priority changes that made very unlikely for a bear's posterior to block doors and stations I wanted to interact with

    It was rare for sorc pets to get in my way but the ubiquitous warden bear was a staple in my morning writs routine; every day there would be at least one fused with the quartermaster boxes making me dance around like a lunatic to turn my writs in. Often it would still be there after 3 or 4 characters' worth of writs.

    Either way, yes please.

    In the latest patch notes they announced that "Companions are no longer visible in Fargrave to aid in improving performance throughout the area." And that got me thinking about all of the complaints about how people get annoyed when someone's pets block them from being able to access a crafting station or something similar, which left me wondering, what if they did that for all towns?

    Honestly the only one that really bothers me is the winged twilight. Even warden bear never bothered me. It's those dang flapping wings in my face while in the bank, at the crafting table or trying to talk to an npc. Most annoying pet in the game. I refuse to use it on my sorc unless it is actually better for something like a dungeon. Until then I stick with the familiar.

    I’m on board with this, but maybe only in buildings and around guild traders..which is where the issue is anyways. I’m fine with having them out and about but when I need to use a crafting station or hit up a guild trader is when I want them all the perish to oblivion.

    I'll be fine with not having companions or combat pets in cities when they remove combat from quests and dueling from cities. Bad enough necros have to do them with half their class skills tied behind thier backs...

    Towns are typically busier areas where performance is going to be impacted (also holds true for other mmos) and not to mention adding a lot of unnecessary screen clutter makes it worse. What purpose do the companions and combat pets serve in towns other than to be a visual annoyance for many and even blocking things like access to doors, writ chests, containers, and quest givers for other players? If anything, maybe it makes more sense to "meet in the middle" on this and just allow the non-combat pets so players can show them, etc, and simply disable the companions/combat pets in towns and correct several long-standing problems and annoyances at the same time.

    Just having them stop standing in the way of items of interest would be sufficient.

    They claimed that was coming, but my companions still get right in front of me and violate my personal space, when they are not standing in front of the riding trainer, quest giver, etc.

    It should be a player choice whether to see other peoples stuff. Game toggles should be added for Combat pets, vanity pets, companions and monster set "pets". I would leave the vanity pets on myself, and turn the rest off. I am pretty sure most tanks that were around for the trials of Maw's blocking the boss would agree as well. ;)

    It doesn't bother me if pets disappeared in towns. In fact it would save me having to remember to dismiss mine every time I enter a town. However, though I don't PvP, I could see it having a potential impact on players who like to dual depending upon how it is implemented. I think a better way would be to auto-hide pets in crafting areas, buildings and within a certain radius of quest givers. This should cover the problem areas without impacting other aspects of the game.

    This seems like a great opportunity for an Uncle Sheo fix instead of a ZOS one:
    1) Players all riding upon hidden steeds, but being involuntarily dismounted (and mounted) at random intervals;
    2) Non-combat pets also invisible (but NOT inaudible) to everyone, with all their sounds amplified and more frequent;
    3) Since everyone loathes flappy wings in their faces at the bank, all companions now only display their boots (the players' custom choices, of course!), walking and running hither and thither. Get your feet off the furniture, you lot!
    4) Oh, and tried SO SINCERELY to fix the combat summons, but how boring! How about twice the size with automatic subscription to the RAPIDFLAP XTREME add-on?

    Well now....that should please everyone I think.

    Moral: Careful what you wish for, mortal.

    I wouldn't mind auto hide class pets in settlements. I often get bothered by my own summons that I despawn them.

    Otherwise, give us the options.

    1. Hide class pets
    2. Hide non-combat pets
    3. Others companions

    Gods no. Just make the cursor prioritize interactables if being able to interact with things is an issue. I've honestly never had the issue enough to want a change like this.

    That, or just give the option to hide other peoples' pets

    As long as this Hiding effect ended the way summoned pets block interactables, it would be a great move. If the pets still blocked things like crafting stations and now you could not even see why you were not able to interact with an object, it would be very bad.

    We’ve been asking for the option to hide others’ non combat pets since the very first phase of the closed beta.

    But we’re playing Elder Crown Store Online, and it is more likely (in a beancounter’s mind) drive down aesthetic item sales more than it drives off players.

    Of course, it is absurd, and has been absurd, but after years of ESO it is simply clear that said bean counter has the stroke in that office, whatever is left of it.
