There will be lore aspects as reference points, to give it the 'feel' of Elder Scrolls, but I wouldn't expect anything more than that.
IMHO

The same reason Morrowind influenced Oblivion, and both those games influenced Skyrim,
and all 3 of those games influenced ESO.
They are games within the same series, and as such, it is only natural that there will be some carryover and influence from game to game.
i hope we see "Nothing" from eso in elder scrolls 6.
let es6 be a stand alone just like all the other es titles are, "thier own game"
no hints of eso in it.

That would be extraordinarily unusual for a TES game. Each of them is their own game, but they are never in a vacuum. Each installment has some reference to what has happened in the past, and ESO is part of that past. It should not be a big part, but this is mainly due to the amount of time that has passed.

I love all things ES, but ESO was the first game with a combat system that was actually enjoyable to play. The combat systems in Skyrim are pretty laughable if I am being honest with myself. Even compared to something like Witcher, it feels archaic, and Witcher's combat was good, but could use a lot of polish.
Best thing about a single player game is that it is very easy to use a difficulty slider to make everyone happy. If you want story mode, fine. If you want the equivalent of Dark Souls on Skooma, fine.
Performance and Balance issues aside, combat in ESO is brilliant example of how things should be done in this genre.

I can see that. In Skyrim I rarely do anything but a bow build, even so, I find it hard to find a good challenge in Skyrim. Everything is either too easy or impossibly hard. ESO on the other hand, has a wonderful balance to the challenge it provides for combat.

It was so basic. There are mobile games with more engaging combat than skyrim. I get that in a single player MMO, you dont need target dummies and and advance DPS rotations, but there is a lot that could be used from ESO combat to make it feel fluid and engaging as opposed to basically hack and slash. Skryim combat takes zero skill whatsoever. It is ultimately the reason I typically burn out on ES games. My subsequent playthroughs usually end up being so powerful so early on that I just get bored with it. The only way to really give yourself a challenge in is to force arbitrary rules on yourself. For example, I did a Skyrim playthrough where I didn't pick up a weapon of any kind. Fun at first, but you still get so powerful that it doesn't matter.

All of which I could change with the favorites keys/menu. So it was two weapons, a shield, 3 spells, and a couple shouts. Usable in various combinations. It was so basic. I guess it all depends on what you're looking for. I'm not a big fan of those complicated action games with all their weapon combos, move lists, and other stuff. I can't remember all that junk, and just end up defaulting to the handful of simple ones. Don't play fighting games or any of the melee actioners that have combat similar to them. Etc. Avoid the Souls-likes, like the plague.
I enjoy TES combat. I don't wish it was more like <insert game here>. /shrug
