Obviously there is some people who do take offence at being mudballed…. It’s just being annoyed because you think it’s a personal attack… but it rarely is…

Its just a bit of fun…

There is a difference between being offended and being annoyed, and no one here has said they are offended.

And it isn't always done just in fun. Sometimes it is a personal attack as some of us have explained. But even when it isn't we still find it annoying.

We don't all have the same idea about what is fun. I find nothing even remotely fun about having things tossed at my character, especially when I am just trying to play my game and relax.

We have the right to enjoy the things we like as much as anyone else. We are not obligated to provide fun for someone we don't even know.

A toggle to turn off memento effects would give everyone the choice to participate or not.

I don’t see why anyone who is really using the momento all in fun would be against there being a toggle. Wouldn’t you rather it only affects others who also find it fun or at least don’t care? I know I would. I use the petals on rare occasion but never mean for it to be an annoyance. As for myself, I am not a fan of the mudballs and only use them in the designated area for the designated event, but thankfully, I’ve not been trolled by anyone and am not bothered by those who throw them at random passers by etc. since it generally doesn’t happen often nor impact what I’m doing. So I don’t think I would use the toggle myself, but I am for there being one for those who would like it!

To be honest I don't see any harm in allowing its use. They definitely should remove its effects when at an outfit station. But otherwise? What's the real harm. It lasts just a bit and then gone.

The harm is that players are being forced to participate whether they want to or not.

What would be the harm in giving us a toggle?

OK valid point. Make it a toggle.

I love the mudball, I'll throw it at anyone. I've actually started some mudball fights, 10/10 would mudball randos again.

I think we should be able to throw marshmallow treats at people.

Gotta say the regen spamming thing always cracks me up. As a healer, it seems weird to me that some people love to stand in a space and spam this at everyone and everything all day long.

why would anyone have any problem with FlOwErS????

    is it a manliness issue?

    mudballs and pies are annoying.
what would be cool is if I could force the thrower into a duel.

This one made a trickster character specifically to lob these bundles of joy at passers by, shoot fireworks, etc. He's a cheeky Khajiit with a passion for mischief. A little devil, literally, called Luci-Fur.

Stay away from Mournhold on Xbox EU of you don't want to be scooping mud out your eyes 😘.

To be honest, I get more annoyed by randomly drawing my weapons because of something someone near me cast. Having to re-sheathe them over and over is more annoying and immersion-breaking than the squealchy sound of the mud and the shaking off of the mud. The lingering visual is annoying, yes, but it goes away.

The problem with the toggle, I foresee, is that it may not be conducive to helping the community get the achievement for hitting X number of people with them during the Jesters festival. Other than that, I see no problem with the toggle option.

The toggle won't stop a player from getting hit with a mudball, or any memento. It would just make it so those who have it toggled off won't notice or see any effect on their character if they are hit.

Can always throw them at npcs instead of players.

The toggle would be great, but I would be satisfied if ZOS could put a longer cooldown for this memento. Right now you can throw a mudball every 2 seconds. If there are two people throwing mudballs to one character non-stop, this is a real harassment. With a longer cooldown, maybe it should be easier to bear

I think this might effect the pies you can throw, and the achievement in Cyrodiil for throwing pies at X number of certain faction. If the cooldown was too long, it would make those achievements even more difficult.

I kinda wonder why we don't have rotten tomatoes to throw, since that elf in Rawl-Ka is in the stocks for throwing them...seems to be a much more punishable crime than mudballs :D

I agree that it should not change the view a player is using as OP is being pulled out of first-person. However, there is not a "proper festival" time for mudballs as the momento is not used for the quest. This is, and that it is a momento, is the reason it can be used all year long. I can say I have been hit by mudballs but have not found it to be a problem.

Maybe have a mudball battleground. Winning team must have a designated number of mudball hits in order to win. No other skills work. It's ESO paintball!

I have no idea tbh. Thing is it only has you draw your weapons upon the first instance of it hitting you so it's not as annoying, but it's a great way to disrupt everyone's emotes. I use it as my primary trickle heal and cast it when I don't want Coagulating Blood running after a fall as a stage 4 vampire. I know I'm bugging someone out there when I do it, and it's a thought constantly at the back of my mind for whatever reason... shrugs
