Reduce cost glyphs + new Ash Cloud

Can someone please test what happens if you use flat reduce cost glyphs and cast Ash Cloud? Is it basically free? Surely they've thought about that?

    Good question! Interested to see someone test this, but I would guess that the reduce cost glyphs proc when a skill is cast, so perhaps the first tick would be free, but from then on they would cost magicka?

    It´s tested and it works currently on PTS. You can make ash cloud/eruption free. It still procs helping hands which gives you 990 stamina every time you recast the free skill

    @Jayne_Doe Nope, toggle skills are also affected by it, you can reduce the cost Blood Frenzy with this by using skill cost reduce glyphs (reduce health, mag, stam cost of skills by 133 with gold cp160 glyph, infused makes it a lot better ofc).

    Can confirm, I put a reduce magicka and a reduce all glyph on 2 jewelry pieces and the skill is free.

    Can anyone test if elfbane, causes this new eruption to keep draining mag, after the 15sec? With the way its worded now, it might be the one thing, that makes me hesitant to run it again.

    It still has a duration. It's not like a toggle that just runs indefinitely (which is what I expected based upon the patch notes) until you turn it off. My duration was 18 seconds and I would imagine that Elf Bane would extend it to 23.

    By using those reduce cost glyphs to make it free you're sacrificing a *lot* of spell damage. It might be a neat trick, and maybe unintended, but it doesn't really seem sensible to sacrifice that much damage for one free dot or hot. So who cares?

    Just go infused cost reduction bis for magdk. You should have plenty of spell damage.

    Has anyone tried charged+heartlands and see how much mag sustain you're getting through combustion?

    Zos nerfs it to the ground

    I guess I'm still wondering why this skill still costs over 5.5k mag when templars have a skill that operates in a very similar way but has:

    - larger radius
    - bigger HoT
    - cleanses the caster
    - provides a synergy that cleanses the ally
    - provides a synergy that heals the ally
    - lasts longer duration
    - costs 1k less mag

    The snare is not that valuable. Obviously there's also the damage morph, but again, I just don't think the damage it provides warrants it being one of the most expensive skills in the game.

    It's crazy to think a dragonknight could even be a great healer, but I think this could do it.

    No serious damage build is going to sacrifice spell damage for cost reduction for this. I certainly am not. I did some tests with my Magicka DK and with no cost reduction it is already easy to sustain, and running cost reduction would just hurt your overall DPS to make something that is a minor part of your DPS free.

    I really appreciate this change and the fact that I can relocate an eruption without being punished with a 5k magicka tax helps a lot with sustaining in actual content.

    This seems a bit ridiculous for a niche pvp stamDK build. Free 70% snare placement, free heals, free ult gen, free stam. I know next to nothing about real pvp building but this may be a bit too much.

    Technically it is not free... you are giving up other jewelry enchantments for magicka cost.
