As someone who recommended this change last patch for pvp I'm happy ZOS went with it.

I'm not sure why they decided to do it for PvE though. I know they want to reduce power creep but from a pure enjoyment of the game standpoint, I've never heard anyone utter the words "my DPS is too high, please nerf" so I'm not sure why they feel that it is necessary.

Because the gap between those who animation cancel, and those who don't--is getting larger with the power gap. Players who quit playing because they aren't dedicated to learning to play "Elder TestDummies Online". Reducing the cap allows for players to put slots into other things, rather than critical damage. Critical damage is this annoying meta, because there are HUNDREDS of sets that don't work for a max critical build/playstyle. So why do those "other" sets exist? They may as well just be "Rubedo Leather Guards, Intricate trait" if they don't offer anything to help players get endgame content cleared.

The people whining about the cap just don't like that the gap is reduced between "them" and "casuals". "I spend so many hours to be as good as I am with my rotation!" Well maybe you all should question 'why' you spend so much time being the best. Are you a twitch streamer making money? Or are you just a bitter person who likes to beat others at something because your real life is sad? Idk, whatever the case, there's nothing wrong with casuals being able to play and enjoy the game.

ZoS giveth broken critical dps numbers,
ZoS can taketh away broken critical dps numbers.

Especially when it makes people feel excluded for not "mastering" a bug that was never fixed since the games conception.
