New Forum Avatars

I just recently changed my avatar after a year or so with my old one. After scrolling through the slew we are allotted I had to choose one I kind of liked but obviously passed on the time before. I really love forums and have been in many over the years (anywhere from cars, games, sports, etc.). I've been on some good ones and some really bad ones let me tell ya...

Now, I'm not intending on dissing our ESO forums in this thread as I do genuinely love visiting but I know it could be a little sweeter in terms of some flair. Am I in the minority of thinking we should have a wee bit more customization? Maybe some post stats/badges under our names or animated avatars...hell just some new ones would be awesome! Forum managers any plans on maybe introducing some more in the near future?

What are everyone's thoughts?

I'd like some updated pictures from the newer chapters and DLC.

As for stats and badges, though, you've got the forum stars (which roughly equate to posts+reactions), and you can always click on someone's name to see their profile and badges.

I can agree with that...how about forum earned avatar frames, lol...now I'm just getting crazy, jk

Updating avatar choice to reflect new chapters would be nice.
As for me, one feature I have always wanted to see involves level 10 stars. Granted, it's not going to change things for me as I am a mere 3-star noob, but still...
Anyway, why not a system where once you hit 10,000 forum points (level 10), instead of 10 gray stars you get One bronze star.
Get to 20,000 points, 2 bronze stars. Hit 30,000 points and it's 3 bronze stars under your name, etc.
Under such a system Aliyavana (32k points) gets 3 bronze stars and VaranisArano (65k points), 6 bronze stars.

Once a user hits 10 bronze stars (100,000 points), it's on to the next tier.
Perhaps One gold star at 110,000 points, then 2 gold stars at 120,000, etc.

If it is not so much work (I don't know this forum engine), it would be interesting to have a frame of choice around avatar / portrait. The three alliance frame choices come to mind, as well as imperial or devoted to the chapters (just like launcher is changed based on current chapter).

Heck guys think BIGGER. Let us link our account with our in game accounts and have our own Main character portrait for our avatars!

Then they could go further by having our level/title/whatever under it etc if they really wanted to add some flair.

I think simpler options would be great,this forum has it's own style,I don't see any need of titles

Like @Olauron mentioned,frames would be a nice idea for a start.

Also the stars each of us has would be nice if we could choose to have them in yellow (for AD) red (for EP) or blue for DC).

Yes definitely!
I remember the Bioware forums had a feature back when Dragon Age Origins came out that you could take a picture of your character in game and set it as your avatar. That was so good. I'd love something like that added.

I would love to have my main as an avatar here. I get why we can't have uploaded pics, but there are still a bit too few when you're reading a thread and several people all have the same picture. Would love to have another excuse to show off the characters we spend so much time making

Custom avatars would also be nice (mentioned in a previous iteration of this thread). It's a pretty common feature for online forum software: you just upload an image with specified maximum dimension and it gets displayed.

There are 3 things I would like to see:
- More smileys
- At least one alternative forum skin (I have enough of darkness, would be glad with a bit more colors & light).
- A straight drag & drop concept for the pics (like in discord)

I’d prefer to be able to upload our own avatars. It would help identify members as individuals. Lots of people using the same avatars leaves me not really knowing who’s who.

Could we have signatures viewable on mobile?

Also I'd like more options for each of the races that showcase some of the diversity in their races, e.g. Alfiq avatars for Khajiit.

Also more dynamic colors on the avatars like this one.
