Naturally I assume they got the chest, but as I run past the spot the chest is always there. One player was literally standing on one of the little islands where a chest spawns and as I ran up he/she just ran away, leaving what was for me an Advanced Chest. Are they not seeing them? It's a goofy question but its happened enough that I had to ask. What is the point of randomly running around Vvardenfell if you're not looking for chests?

I've left chests behind because I'm new and can't always open them.
Good chance he broke his last lockpick and walked off sad.

You can see mobs which disappear when engaging in meele range (and then reappear when you make few steps back). This is a bug/side effect of instancing. Maybe that's what happened to that player who didn't see the chest?.

Thank you! I don't remember this happening with chests but I think it explains why I sometimes see a dolmen (or other world event) start but when I get closer it ends almost instantly. I've been wondering about that for years!
