Would you rather have to level each companion on EVERY character? Because this is the price we have to pay to have them leveled account wide. You get ONE build per companion across ALL characters, this also includes ONE outfit across all characters. If you want them as a tank with one character and a DPS on another, you have to manually switch them with each character. So it's NOT a bug, it is working as intended.
As for people still having the disappearing gear problem... are the ones still having the disappearing gear problem making sure they have companions dismissed on EVERY character before logging out?? I have yet to lose a single piece of gear because I make sure that I dismiss the companion before logging in to another character. I also dismiss and resummon them whenever I give them a new piece of gear, just to be sure it remained in place. I run and swap my companions on six alts and have never lost a piece of gear and I frequently get new pieces to add to them.

I get the level is account wide but each companion should be somewhat a functional entity for each separate character. it is absolutely useless, pointless and plain stupid to have them IDENTICAL for each character since we usually don't have identical characters.
Why would I then do intro quest on each character? Let me unlock it on one and then make it account wide UNLOCK also.
Not sure if you fundamentally understand how companions SHOULD work, like they work in every other game. I get the level is account wide but each companion should be somewhat a functional entity for each separate character. it is absolutely useless, pointless and plain stupid to have them IDENTICAL for each character since we usually don't have identical characters. So according to you - and ZOS probably - this companion is just one particular, individual item that is identical for each character? Why would I then do intro quest on each character? Let me unlock it on one and then make it account wide UNLOCK also.
In other games, when you get companion, even if it is the very same type of companion, you can customize it for every character. [snip] The longer we accept it and find workarounds for issues they should solve in the first place, the worse overall gaming experience.
So I repeat and I really would like ZOS to break this offending silence and explain/discuss/apologize/ANYTHING at this point:
changing gear on one character's companion changes it on every other character's companion, is this intended "feature" because someone not really cared enough OR is this is a bug. If the first, frankly, this is major fail for companions system, if the latter, kindly fix this issue.
First and foremost, ESO has never been like 'every other game'.
Although with that being said, they DO have rapport 'by character'... but I don't know how much programming difference there would be between that and keeping track across multiple accounts the various gear/skills assigned to all the companions.

In general, the GRAND majority of the people on the PTS are there to parse the trial, or theorycraft gear. There are sadly relatively very few of us who are on there to report bugs, unless they're quest-breaking ones.
Writing bug reports has no discernible effect whatsoever. With very few exceptions, bugs (esp. bugs not directly related to the new content) will make it to Live, no matter how game-breaking they are. (I mean, we have a serious bug with blocking right now. That was reported during the PTS. Was it fixed? Hahaha. Was it even acknowledged? Lol no, only after going live.)
So - why report bugs on the PTS? It literally doesn't matter.
Same as well, I didn't even get the normal automated response email that normally comes through so maybe at another department collecting with all the other tickets with the same issues, idk. Not going to even bother with another ticket as I highly doubt anything will come out of it. It would be nice to get some sort of response out of anyone anyone from ZOS at this point. It also sounds like another issue has started up with quest markers showing on others companions heads. I am guessing the radio silence is because either they are inundated, don't know what/when the "fix" will be, or maybe both. Regardless, some sort of communication -- even "we're working on it" -- would be really nice "QoL" for the community.Sirona_Starr wrote: »I submitted a ticket a couple days ago no response.
