Cant farm companion rapport I guess....

I know the activities you do to gain rapport has a cooldown... So let me explain...

Mirri gains rapport if you craft a alcoholic beverage. She will only gain rapport if you do it every 5 minutes. Her cooldown for that activity is 5 minutes.

I set a timer for 5 minute 10 second and for hours crafted a new alcoholic drink. Each time it showed the little thing in the bottom right saying I have gained rapport with Mirri.

however

Two hours later doing it on the dot every 5 minutes 10 seconds she has gone up zero.

soooooooooooooooooooooooooo....

Can a ZOS dev member or employee please confirm that you cant do what I did above to gain rapport?

On a side note its ridiculously slow to gain rapport... like a unreasonably slow gain... something so slow you wont max it without focusing on it for a unreasonable amount of you play time over months at a time just to max it appears...

*EDIT* I am assuming you have to alternate the activities. So... craft a beverage and then go to a deadric delve before doing the beverage again EVEN if the timer has ticked over and the cooldown ends...

Have you tried doing a Fighters Guild daily with her? Turning that in brought a larger rapport gain than crafting drinks or excavating, at least from what I saw on the PTS.

I have unlocked everything but that one. Funny enough... I finished it and for some reason it didnt unlock if for her... So have been waiting for the new one to come out...

Quick tip for people who just bought Greymoor (or got access to it with ESO+): you can grind rapport and scrying/excavation skill lines at the same time. Summon Bastian and scry, then summon Mirri and excavate. There is still 5min cooldown but if you're grinding antiquities skill lines anyway then it's free rapport boost.

It depends what you do for her approval. Crafting an alcoholic drink only improves the relationship minimally. If you do a daily for the fighter'´s guild instead, it improves the relationship much more.

There's probably diminishing returns for each activity so that people aren't just camping a spot that gives Rapport. You're going to have to change up what you do and what another person said, there may be a limited amount you can get per day.

Thank you for this!! I just started with these skill lines a couple of weeks ago but haven't used them much... now there is incentive to use them. I think ZOS did this for a reason, probably few people take the time to use them, so they wanted to add an incentive and knew players would figure it out. ;)

it will go up, but just by 1 for minimal activities, which doesn't add up to a lot in the grand scheme of things since they are things you will probably do a lot of, it probably won't move the arrow enough for you to notice one singular time. use an addon called LootDrop Reborn, it will tell you the values of how much it goes up each time you do an activity.

Small things like reading books only sends their rapport up by 1. Scrying an antiquity is 5. Turning in a Mages Guild daily for Bastian or Fighters Guild daily for Mirri increases it by 125. As Rhaena said, the addon LootDrop Reborn shows the numbers. And after 3 Mages Guild dailies it doesn't look like the bar has even budged to me. I think maxing their rapport has to be a long term goal rather than something to grind out.

    She's not de-spawning.

When you interact with a crafting table, cooking pot, etc., you're companion will fade away from you seeing them (also happens to your non-combat pets and other assistants).

I imagine ZOS has done this to minimize screen clutter while crafting.

Just have her out and then craft the beverage, when you exit the station, she'll be visible again and she should get the rapport bump.

At this time, you need to much Points to get die Quests in the future. A Cooldown don´t make it less grind than it is.
But i think we can buy boosts in the Crownshop soon. It´s predictable. And that is very sad.

Everything about compagnions is either time gated or grindy.

Leveling them and getting gear is grindy, getting all their skills and the rapport is time gated.

It feels like their core idea was to make everything about them as slow as possible to hide that the system hasnt much to offer.

If its character bound then I think I'm done with this system and the companions can go hang out in Oblivion.

I think skills and level are Accountbound and "Rapport" Charbound. But im unsure about it and have it not tested.

The guild dailies give way, way, way more rapport than the little stuff like reading books and crafting alcoholic drinks. I did 3 mages guild dailies with Bastian and got more rapport than a whole day of feeding him books and letting him backseat scry. It even unlocked his first sidequest, so yay.

it boils down to get the meta achievement. Which also includes max rapport of the companion. after unlocking the meta achievement you will have a permanent buff depending on the companion even if the companion is not summoned.

Bastian can improve looted potions with his insight
Mirri helps you find hidden compartements in chests which can contain recipes

and here some foreshadowing: there will come a point in time where you can buy a companion in the crownstore, and this companion will have such a big benefit after getting the meta achievement that it will *** many players off.

Ok... i think i must revise something. Yes.. it is not much on Points what we get. But... it seems to be, that it´s enough to do 7x the dayli (Warrior for Mirri) to get the quests. And the daylis are divisible. I think it is ok.

The basic stuff such as reading books, digging antiquities, crafting alcoholic beverages seems to be giving so less positive rapport points, compared to guild dailies. In my opinion doing guild dailies is the best way to increase rapport and you can get more than one quest from other players. I think this should be revised as well since other activities are just waste of time compared to guild dailies.

You'll eventually be able to have their passive companion perks active at all times, whether the companion is summoned or not. That's the major incentive.

It's worth remembering that companions were just released and represent a whole other line for future upgrades.

If you like your companion just level it up as you go and wait a few months for the inevitable boost.
