it will go up, but just by 1 for minimal activities, which doesn't add up to a lot in the grand scheme of things since they are things you will probably do a lot of, it probably won't move the arrow enough for you to notice one singular time. use an addon called LootDrop Reborn, it will tell you the values of how much it goes up each time you do an activity.

does the addon show how much exp they need to get to max?

The max number of Rapport is 5500.

As to gaining Rapport, once you get to "Friendly" rapport status, you will unlock the second companion quest that is supposed to "give a substantial boost to rapport".

Just finished Mirri's quest "A mother's obsession" which granted 500 Rapport. So there is that. :)

I was dolmens and It does look like it's bugged for single rapport point activities as never seems to move at all

There's probably diminishing returns for each activity so that people aren't just camping a spot that gives Rapport. You're going to have to change up what you do and what another person said, there may be a limited amount you can get per day.

It's already time gated so probably not. Also story goes it's only 1 point of rapport for small activities

Why do we even care about rapport? I get it if our rapport with them gets so bad that they won’t spawn for us, but what’s the advantage to having great rapport with them?

guests in your house after doing the max rapport quest*shrug(or wherever on the bar they give it to you)

You also get their passive bonus permanently, so you won't need Mirri to get better loot from Chests.

The guild dailies give way, way, way more rapport than the little stuff like reading books and crafting alcoholic drinks. I did 3 mages guild dailies with Bastian and got more rapport than a whole day of feeding him books and letting him backseat scry. It even unlocked his first sidequest, so yay.

I read that as "and letting him backseat cry" and didn't even question it. Lol :D

When do you get passive bonus?
