it will go up, but just by 1 for minimal activities, which doesn't add up to a lot in the grand scheme of things since they are things you will probably do a lot of, it probably won't move the arrow enough for you to notice one singular time. use an addon called LootDrop Reborn, it will tell you the values of how much it goes up each time you do an activity.
does the addon show how much exp they need to get to max?

You also get their passive bonus permanently, so you won't need Mirri to get better loot from Chests.
