Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl Change

Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl: Fixed an issue where this food buff was stronger than it’s blue food counterpart. The main focus of this food was meant to be its bonuses for Fishing, rather than combat effectiveness. The new values are max level are now 5414 Max Health and 4938 Max Magicka.

******
Yet another completely unnecessary change that no one ever asked for on a food that isn't even remotely considered 'Overpowered'. The reason why this food is great is because you can pay extra gold to get a few hundred more magicka and HP.
If they want to do a miniscule tweak how about they look at sugar skulls?!?!

This change is silly and should be reverted.
It doesn't change any dynamic, just acts as a nuisance to potential max stats.

It would be one thing if there were other purple and gold food that provided better combat effectiveness than the blue food. It used to be Bloody Mara (gold) > Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl (purple) > Melon-Baked Parmesan Pork (or whatever blue food - there are multiple). Bloody Mara was nerfed in the past and now Artaeum Pickled Fish Bowl is nerfed. But there are no purple or gold health + resource "combat effectivesness" food to take their place. Why not?

Agree.. Sometimes it feels like they do these changes just to upset us, which I don't really think is true, but if I was true I sure couldn't tell the difference.

Also used this food for the stats, shame. I think Mara got the same treatment. I do think there is a room for 2 stats food with better version(purple and god) compared to the blue version.

right, I am definitely never going to be like " damn if only I had 200 more magicka I would have killed this player".
What bothers me is they actually give attention to things when:
    1. No one asked for it.
    2. There are issues extremely similar to this but there actually is a problem (like I pointed out sugar skulls, now that I think about it artaeum takeaway broth too)

What's really puzzling to me is, that it's still "better" compared to blue food (2 mag, 19 health). Why not use the same values if you nerf it anyway?`

The change does not take into account that the recipe is hard to get, and getting the ingredients is expensive or time-consuming.

The bright side is that I might make a bit of progress towards Master Angler now, since I have a large stack of Artaeum Picked Fish Bowl that otherwise doesn’t have a use.

well look at it like this...

it took them 3 YEARS to realize the extra ~200 stats from the food were AN ISSUE THAT NEEDED NOT TO BE FIXED.

Sugar skulls has like >100∼ stat increase for THREE different stats plus HP regen!

The sacrifice I make to drop stamina sustain for more offensive power is now 2 magicka........ ZOS at it again homogenizing the way we play their game.

I hope that this is the answer.

Otherwise it's a truly baffling use of developer time given the game's many and significantly more pressing balance issues.

I don’t care whether they change it or not. As a whole it’s probably better this way so that players without much gold don’t have yet another payed obstacle to raiding.

But the “Fixed an issue” part? just lol

I don't see a problem with the price. If you want the very best then you got to pay for it, no? I actually think it should be BUFFED so the price difference is justified.
The difference between purple and gold gear is tiny (dis-including weapons), I certainly would be against them touching the difference in power between upgrades as well.

thank you for eazing my fears

and youre right, back when i still liked pvp (before all the nerfs and the harrasment) always went in cyro w a magsorc or magblade, always noticed my magsorc dying INCREDIBLY fast, when i finaly got the resources to craft the bowls? i died less, and im serious, even with my fingers vibrating like cicada wings, that 500 or so hp made a big difference allowing me to more easily get the tickets in the midyear mayhem event (still the worst event in existence imo)

its just waw, i uhh dont know what to say xD...

still the fish bowl nerfs are still the worst... they NEED to revert it.... because its weird.... knowing people might soon all use green food as their main pve food... its weird... weird. weird. weird.

This won't change anything other than the food people click E on before combat. Builds will be the same, combat will be the same, Godslayer will still be as achieveable.

It was always weird to me that Pickled Fish Bowl was slightly better than other food for no reason, and it's been too expensive for a long time. The rage about this change seems pretty overblown to me.

It's not the magnitude of the change it's the fact that this, of all things, was what they chose to 'fix' in this patch.

Like, if you're fixing random bugs, why not fix the bug with Ravager where it takes 2 seconds to go from Stack 2 -> Stack 3 rather than 1 second. Or why Oblivion' Foe doesn't provide both Spell and Weapon Critical Chance on Live when it is intended to do so from its most recent patch notes?

Those are actual bugs with actual sets that remain unfixed. Why spend time fixing a 'problem' like this?

This is an utterly stupid and useless change.

If they are going to start looking at food then they should go back through the values on all of the food and adjust them to make sense because currently they are all over the place in terms of rarity of ingredients vs usefulness of the food vs quality color.

Purple Food that uses rare and expensive ingredients should be better than Blue Food that uses cheap common ingredients (no 2 hours vs 1 hour is not worth the cost).
