Perfected Items Should Also Count as Non-Perfected Items in the Sticker Book

The new change on PTS that allows mixing and maxing perfected and non-perfected gear pieces for set bonuses is fantastic. However, it also means that there is now no reason why a perfected piece should not also unlock the equivalent non-perfected piece in the sticker book if you don't already have it. If you have the perfected piece there is basically no point in farming for the non-perfected piece now, since perfected is better anyways and you can now use the perfected piece as a stand-in for the non perfected piece until you get a full perfected set.

There is really no benefit in farming for non-perfected pieces after you already have the perfected set unlocked, but some people are completionists and want to unlock every item piece in their sticker book. It's silly to make these people farm content a second time on normal when they have already unlocked all the gear on the harder veteran difficulty. Some veteran content does allow you to find all the non-perfected gear in chests; however, some non-perfected items, like Cloudrest weapons and jewelry, can only be found on normal difficulty.

Achievements for vet content also unlock the normal version and the same goes for furnishings, completing vet unlocks both the bust and trophy. This would be a fantastic change and make it work consistently with everything else

Is this just a completionist thing? I don’t see any functional reason why you’d need to reconstruct a non-perfect item if you could make the perfect one instead. Before this change there were scenarios where you’d need to do this to complete a 5pc set.

Except for Dragonstar Arena... Literally the only base game 'trials' achievement I'm missing on one toon is the normal DSA clear achievement (and skill point).

I suppose if you have certain non-perfected pieces and certain other perfected pieces, it would reduce the cost of reconstruction.

also, it should work in both directions: let the non-perfected set also fill the perfected set.

I think some people may have some confusion on how this actually works… the mixing Perf with Non-perf.

The new system doesn’t eliminate the need for perf, nor non-perf.

Still going to need full 5 set of perf for max bonus stat.

Though getting non perfected items is not hard, it will cost a lot of time. We can spend time doing something more interesting rather than boring and repeating farming.

I think the OP's suggestion will be a great QOL improvement.

Hey mate, this thread is from 2021 and the feature is live (out of pts) from last year... you'd probably better to create a new thread in general forum if you really feel the need to bring this up again.

Uh, no... was it ironic @tmbrinks?

The mixing of perfected and non perfected items already exist since Update 30 - Blackwood (June 2021): https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/575323/pc-mac-patch-notes-v7-0-5-blackwood-update-30#latest

They're talking about it counting in the stickerbook.

With update 33, any collected "perfected" items will unlock the corresponding "non-perfected" gear piece of the same set.

    Item Set Collection Update
With this Update, when you unlock any individual piece of a Perfected Item Set, you will now also automatically unlock the same piece of its Non-Perfected counterpart.

Out of curiosity, on PTS, is this feature retroactive or does it only count newly collected items? If I have already collected many perfected items (but not the standard counterparts) will my collection be automatically updated on PTS or will I have to recollect those items for it to count post update? I would test myself but realized I don't have any perfected versions that I don't also have the normal version for myself. Mostly interested for others.

A minor confusion, outweighed by the fact that reviving this thread shows that they are capable of implementing player requests, however rare and in this particular case very niche or for a completionist's sake.
