That is not what I was saying at all. The way they look is only part of it. As I also said, I can't connect with their personalities and demeanors either.
This thread is asking why people hate Argonians. I don't hate them but I would never play one for the reasons I stated.

I got confused because I said I put MY personality traits onto argonians/khajiit characters, and then you said you don't because you can't connect with ''animal personalities'' or whatever, which implies you're saying my personality traits are that of animals (which I'm pretty sure you weren't saying because wtf) or you're not getting what I'm saying.
I brought this up to begin with because I wanted to express the way in which I related to how you relate to your characters or whatever.
''I don't identify with my characters as much as my characters identify with me.''
was the original thing you said that I quoted, and that is absolutely true for me. I was saying that I relate to that, because my characters also identify with me (not the other way around), just in personality traits only.

If a character consciously or subconsciously shows traits of yourself, then it doesn't really matter what race he belongs to, as the connection is primarily about the traits and not externals. But depending on how visually inclined a person is, the appearance can of course play a role in whether you build a connection or not. There is also a reason why I only play elves for example.

Thing is, there are no traits of player character that are already there. All the traits are projected by the player to the player character.

Just don't expect the rest of the player to do the same or care. For me, all that matters is content being cleared. If you can do it as an Orc that can put Arnold Schwarzenegger to shame, wearing a pink dress...more power to you.
Frankly I'd be more leery of the Thalmor RPer. The whole attempted genocide, and the training college.

That college thing broke my heart, even as an elf-lover. Like here's this nice college tucked into a pleasant looking area. And these poor souls are having their identities beaten out of them.
The Sun-In-Shadow quests in VVardenfell are great as you help an Argonian viewed with disdain by Dunmer work to break the barriers in Telvanni culture and achieve her dreams to become a respected wizard. It shows how cunning an Argonian can be, definitely not a race to be underestimated.
