------ REQUEST: a new PVE server in cyrodil

There are others like me that don't like to PVP but do like to quest, and cyrodil is a huge zone to check out. Can we get a server for cyrodil that is just PVE, no fighting players, all gates open, all towns and villages receptive and all monsters ready to kill in cooperative groups. The idea is to have skyshard running players and questing players go on this server and leave the PVP'ers to their 'fun' in other cyrodil servers. This should reduce the load on those servers a bit too. You could even make its story take place after the 3 banner war where the alliance is holding and the daedra are vanquished.

Thoughts?

Been asked for a million times.
Dont think you are ever going to see it happen.

Might want to be careful what you ask for.
The fans of open world PVP will say they would support it if open world PVP be enabled in every other map.
    We dont want that either.

The only way I would ever support it is:

No way to get AP at all, quest rewards would just be gold and green, blue purple items
    No alliance rank XP
    No alliance skill lines XP
    No Way to get emperor
No access to the skyshards behind the gates. Those are ONLY gotten with PVP.

Isn't there enough pve zones to quest? And they already add 2 more every year. Cyrodiil should stay as is.

my thought is that the lunar fang docks is an awesome spot to visit...cheydinhal is pretty cool too...lots of really nice locales with interesting npc characters all over...

once you get away from the keeps, outposts and flag towns it's a great zone to explore...

very few pvp players stray far from the AP objectives...

don't let the whole pvp thing prevent you from exploring and enjoying cyrodiil...

now that major gallop is always on, if you happen to run in to another faction player you can usually just ride away...

The price of doing those quests, exploring those delves and getting those skyshards is the risk of PvP.

And if you are careful, outside of the capturable towns and near keeps, you are not going to run into trouble, unless it's the Midyear Mayhem event.

And trust me, it's not an interesting zone, so there aren't hordes of PvErs taking up space in the queue from the PvPers there.

You go there once per character and that's it if you are not into PvP.

    I'd support it honestly.

World of Warcraft has a "War mode" whereby you can essentially opt in to world-pvp anywhere in the world.

I'd love to see something like that for ESO. Give us a PvE and PvP version of the world as a whole. That way the PvP community gets something new (imagine PvPing in new content, that'd be pretty mad!) and the PvE community gets to see Cyrodiil and some of the Alliance-War story without needing to PvP.

    Greater accessibility for all!

asking for a pve cyro is like asking all of tamriel to be a pvp zone like WoW.
it wont happen because it will only destroy the pvp community.

I've been back and forth on the subject myself for a long time. My personal opinion is there should be a cyrodiil server that you enter in passive mode. As long as you don't attack a player, resource or keep etc. then you cannot be attacked. Do the same for large pve zonessuch as craglorn. Make half the zone pvp but you can still pve in it as long as you don't attack other players so if ppl choose to pvp there let them. Wont happen but I believe it would work.

Cyro is a huge mostly empty zone with very few meaningful quests for PVE players (the delves are okay). If ZOS set up a PVE Cyro, I kind of feel as if it would be just as empty as the pvp version, and the quests wouldn't be "good" - much less wonderful.

I ran 4 characters through there for Master Angler a couple years back. It was literally an empty zone (yes, I did pick a low pop campaign.... I'm not stupid....) I saw almost no one - aside from the couple of op fac characters fishing in the same spots I was.

It's pretty, I grant you that. But the life that existed in TES III? Nope, not there. If you want to pvp, it probably works (eh, lots of posts on here abut it NOT working....) As a pve zone, unless the devs are willing to spend a lot of hours and money on it - and I don't think they are - it will still be very pretty, very huge... and very empty.

Lots of things I'd rather the devs spent their money and time on.

This is pretty much why I wouldn't want it. Don't want PvP everywhere. Dueling is bad enough.

You aren't missing out on anything quest wise in cryodil.

It is a PVP map meant for PVP and if you want to PVE in cryodil you'll have to live with the danger.

Never understood this line of reasoning. We the players cannot cut deals internally, players get what the company gives. There is never a problem with advocating for something you want to see in game, the deal brokering when neither of the parties has power amuses me.

Open world pvp? Haven't seen much traction for it.

Personally wouldn't mind an additional campaign for IC, for pve purposes. Has some cool locales and story. Wider cyro, not so much.

As someone who has 100% PvE in Cyro, there's REALLY not enough PvE in there to make it at all worth it. Plus it's easy to get all of the skyshards (I've done it twice) and do all of the PvE quests without engaging in any PvP.

Like seriously, even the skyshards behind the scroll gates are easy. You don't have to do everything in one campaign, so check the others to see where the scroll gates are open and which alliance owns each town and there you go. You can get the skyshards and do the town quests.

Then for the rest of it, just stay away from the busy parts of the map while they're busy and the direct lines between contested keeps/resources.

There's enough empty campaigns to do this without having to pvp.

No pvp player is just waiting around in delves to gank pve players.

And if you do die, you respawn.

How much actually pve is even in cyrodiil. Town quests are just crappy repeatable that drops cyrodiil gear.

Not really necessary in my opinion. There is like a gazillion PvE-zones and only the one PvPzones.
If you want Cyrodiil, go do PvP. PvPers have to do PvE for basically everything else.

i have the theory that most pvp'ers are objecting to this suggestion because part of their fun in cyro is killing those pve 'casuals' that only come to cyro to explore and get skyshards ;)

on a more serious note, if that is not it, then i really don't see why pve'ers shouldnt get their own version of cyro. it takes NOTHING away from pvp (except for said easy kills).

the whole "if pve'ers get cyro then we have to get to pvp in overland!!!1!" is absurd to me and a kindergarden mentality honestly. :#

let's face it - pvp has always been neglected by zos and most definitely will always be. the majority of the playerbase is there for the quests and other pve content, and since pvp doesn't make zos much $$$ they will never give it the attention it deserves :|

The reason there should never be a PvE Cyrodiil is pretty obvious when you think about it.

The game is designed this way to get players to try PvP, to go into the PvP zone and to give it a go.

PvP is scary, but so are dungeons and trials. You die in dungeons and trials, you die in PvP.

PvP when given a chance can be a lot of fun. Forget the scare stories about PvPers waiting to bank PvErs behind every bush, yes some of that happens during MYM but most PvPers will be where the action is. And that generally isn't the delves or the dolmens or the fishing spots. It might spill into the towns occasionally either whe its being taken or when passing through but sitting and killing PvErs? Not so much.

As others have said, I've no issues with a PvE Cyrodiil where you can quest to your hearts desire but it has no access to the skyshards, delves or dolmens. You can't have the rewards without the risk, and in a low pop campaign the risk is low.

Only way this can be done is a separate Cyrodiil & IC PvE zones and plot involving time travel into the past, before three banner war, or something like that.
^ This in fact has a potential for a year long story Imperial chapter.

But existing PvP zones should remain as they are.

Unfortunately, most people appear to think that the Cyrodiil quests, skyshards, lorebooks and branch of the Master Angler achievement are worth more suffering than all the other similar ones in the rest of the game. There is always the insistence that they are not like other quests or skyshards that are to be gained with as much effort as they took to complete or find, but are instead rewards for having to be bullied with hate whispers and teabagging. To skip that pain would apparently be game-breaking. There's screaming from PvP fans every time someone asks about this.

You totally don't get the idea why PVE players want a PVE Cyrodiil. look, There's a lot of LORE in Cyrodiil. It is not about hitting buttons and killing mobs. It is about exploration and the lore.

ESO events take place in 2E 582.
TES Oblivion events take place in 3E 433.

So, how we are supposed to substitute Cyrodiil of 2E 582 by Cyrodiil of 3E 433?

Having done the questing there it’s not worth it, imo many of the quests are meh.

The real engagement from questing is that you’re in a war zone, as the context of the quests also deal with the ongoing war.

tbf I’ve wanted to see a PvE war zone, full on daedric army invasions with wondering Bosses.

Can we get a mode that it allows me to pass dungeon and trial enemies so I can skip them and loot?
